00:03 There are many questions about the history of the Earth.
00:07 What major events might have occurred to shape it?
00:11 Was there a global flood, a Big Bang?
00:15 How did the Earth become filled with so many
00:17 amazing and diverse creatures?
00:20 I'm Del Tackett, the creator of The Truth Project.
00:23 And I spent a year asking a wide variety of scientists
00:26 to help me better understand the world we see around us.
00:30 Well, it was a story that we all learned in grammar school.
00:33 Colorado River, over tens of millions of years,
00:36 cut the Grand Canyon.
00:38 Most geologists have jettisoned that idea.
00:42 You can't imagine a canyon enduring
00:44 that long with erosion.
00:46 Time is not a magic wand that solves all the geologic
00:51 problems of the world.
00:53 The past is the key to the present.
00:55 If you want to understand why the world is today,
00:58 you've got to understand what happened in the past.
01:01 You take the present processes and extend it
01:03 into the past, not unreasonable.
01:05 But there's evidence in the rocks themselves
01:08 that you can't do that.
01:10 If the fossils of dinosaurs have been dated incorrectly,
01:13 then it's very likely the fossils of any organism
01:17 have been dated incorrectly.
01:18 And therefore, then, the geologic ages
01:20 themselves are incorrect.
01:23 I believe in change over time.
01:24 But I'm not an evolutionist.
01:25 The shark has the ability to change, to adapt,
01:29 to respond dynamically to the environment.
01:32 But there are still sharks.
01:34 And when we look at the fossil record, there are still sharks.
01:37 We've been told to look at a history of the Earth that
01:40 is millions and billions of years old.
01:43 Is there evidence that it could have been created
01:45 in only a matter of days?
01:47 You really need to begin by looking
01:50 at the governing paradigm about the history of life
01:53 and the history of the universe.
01:55 We've got two possibilities.
01:56 And all the natural history museums in the country
01:58 all give you just one of those views.
02:00 Is there a recorded history that shows us a different view?
02:05 And when we look at the fossil record,
02:06 we can see that complexity is all there from the beginning.
02:09 And this begs the question of where did all this complexity
02:13 come from?
02:14 An ancient history recorded in the book of Genesis.
02:18 You have this notion that there is providence that
02:22 is then worked out across time in a linear, understandable,
02:27 traceable fashion.
02:29 We'll come face to face with an earth-shattering question.
02:33 Is Genesis history?
