00:00 Thousands of Palestinians have been reportedly killed after Israeli forces shelled an ambulance
00:13 convoy transferring wounded patients from the Al-Shifa Hospital to the Rafah Krasim.
00:21 In Panama, mobilizations continue to reject the mining contract and demand the repeal
00:25 of the law on its indefinite implementation.
00:30 In Europe, the toll rises to 16 and there are more than 60 injured after a storm in
00:35 the Chiarahi, the continent.
00:41 Hello welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the TeleSUR headquarters in Caracas,
00:45 Venezuela.
00:46 I'm here with Ana, stay with us.
01:12 Thousands of Palestinians have been reportedly killed after Israeli forces shelled an ambulance
01:17 convoy transferring wounded patients from the Al-Shifa Hospital to the Rafah Krasim.
01:22 The victims of the attack include Al-Shifa patients, displaced people, women and children.
01:27 More than 40,000 Palestinians are sheltered in medical institutions after their homes
01:32 were bombed by the occupation forces.
01:35 The incident adds one more case of attacks on civilians by Israeli forces preceded by
01:40 the recent shelling of the vicinity of the Al-Shifa Hospital southwest of Gaza and the
01:44 one near the Indonesian hospital in the city of Beirut, Lajia.
01:53 Following the attack by Israeli occupation forces at the entrance of Al-Shifa Hospital,
01:57 the journalist and member of the Gaza government media office Haitham Harara was reportedly
02:04 killed.
02:05 In a press publication by the Harara Reader, "We will not get out of this and we will not
02:09 go away.
02:10 They will only see resilience and faith.
02:12 If we have to leave, it will be only to return to our occupied land or to paradise."
02:23 The consensual bombardment by the Israeli army has forced thousands of people to flee
02:28 their homes and seek shelter in public places under precarious conditions.
02:33 For more details, we have a look at what our correspondent in Gaza, Huda Ghasi, has to
02:37 report.
02:38 We are in the Nasser Hospital in the governorate of Jan Yunis, but this area is a little bit
02:46 unusual and different from the other areas that we have seen several times before.
02:54 In this area, Palestinians evacuated in the north and center of the Gaza Strip have proceeded
02:59 to come to the hospital and have started to make tents to carry out their daily life but
03:05 in quite complicated situations.
03:07 Since the beginning of this war, Israel has prevented the entry of food, the entry of
03:12 water, the entry of food.
03:18 That is to say, all the basic necessities of life.
03:22 It is true that last week the Rafah border was opened and several trucks of humanitarian
03:27 aid were bogged in.
03:28 But this aid does not even cover 5% of the needs of the population of the Gaza Strip.
03:37 Even these needs are distributed only to UNRWA schools and are distributed to people who
03:42 are in those schools.
03:44 But what to do with the people in hospitals like this one?
03:47 We will now proceed to interview one of the refugees in this hospital so that we can tell
03:52 us a little bit about how he lives.
03:59 Hello how are you?
04:00 What can you tell us about the life in the tents?
04:02 How do you get water?
04:04 How do you get food?
04:05 As food it is very difficult to get it.
04:08 Institutions come here and do not cover the needs of even 10 or 5% of those who are here.
04:13 The water is contaminated.
04:15 The toilets are almost inaccessible.
04:20 We find it very difficult to get even 100ml of drinking water.
04:24 The individual cannot consume 300ml of water a day because of the scarcity of water.
04:31 We can't bathe.
04:32 Just once a week or 10 days or every 2 weeks we can't take a bath.
04:37 As you see the children are here barefoot.
04:42 They can't bathe because of their posts.
04:45 Diseases are starting to appear due to lack of hygiene such as smallpox, cough, diarrhea.
04:52 Life is being too hard.
04:53 It is much more difficult than you can imagine.
04:56 What we are going through in these camps is very hard and very bitter.
05:02 All day long they give us one piece of cookie per person.
05:05 Who is going to feed a cookie to the children?
05:06 A newborn baby and pregnant woman.
05:09 How are they going to feed them?
05:14 This citizen has just told us the situation is quite difficult.
05:18 He told us that it is true that different organizations such as the UN or RACOM distribute
05:23 some humanitarian aid but this aid is not enough.
05:31 He even told us that sometimes during the day they only give him a little bit of cookies.
05:36 This is a very tragic situation since a person can only survive by eating cookies.
05:41 He also informed us that the water is one of the things impossible to get nowadays.
05:50 They only have the possibility to get water for drinking, even for hygiene or other basic
05:55 necessities for life such as showering.
05:58 There is no water available.
06:00 This is also increasing the number of diseases, the number of pandemic.
06:04 The population is starting to get sick.
06:06 They are starting to see the human conditions in which they are living.
06:14 The revolution against the people of Palestine continues, this time over a refugee camp.
06:19 For more details, let's listen to our correspondent in Gaza, Nur Harassan Hassan.
06:25 Refugee camps mean that the Palestinian homes, the people residing here, are living so close
06:32 to each other.
06:33 There is only narrow alleys and small roads that separates the homes from each other.
06:40 Right now we are inside the Al-Bureij refugee camp and this is what it looks like.
06:46 Total destruction.
06:49 One Israeli airstrike can actually destroy a whole block.
06:54 And this is what we are seeing around us, a whole block inside the Al-Bureij refugee
06:59 camp that was actually established in 1949 after the Palestinian Nakba.
07:05 A total block is erased.
07:08 Tens of Palestinians were killed in this Israeli aggression on the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
07:16 And this is not the only refugee camp that has been attacked by Israel, but also the
07:21 Israeli war cleansed down several and intensive airstrikes on the Al-Shatay refugee camp,
07:28 which is located in western Gaza.
07:31 The Israeli war planes also apparently are targeting gatherings like bakeries, people
07:38 refilling water, people inside markets, busy streets.
07:44 This is the situation on the ground here in Gaza.
07:47 Nur Harassan, Telesur, Gaza.

08:14 Welcome back to From the South.
08:17 Thousands of Afghans are trapped on the borderline.
08:20 My pardon.
08:21 In Panama, mobilizations continue to reject the mining contract and demand the repeal
08:25 of the law on its innocent implementation.
08:28 Various social, political and union organizations took to the streets and closed the country's
08:33 main highways in rejection of the contract with the Canadian company First Quantum Minerals.
08:38 In response to this situation, President Laurentino Cortes submitted the assembly members to an
08:43 extraordinary session to debate a bill 1110 that prevents new mining concessions.
08:52 In El Salvador, a group of lawyers asked the Supreme Electoral Court to reject the registration
09:01 of President Ejid Bukele as a candidate for re-election.
09:04 In the document presented by the Movimiento Justicia Plena, they denounced that the registration
09:09 of President Ejid Bukele is unconstitutional.
09:13 They also indicated that re-elections have been forbidden in the country since they killed
09:18 the daughter of the dictatorship of Maximiliano Hernández Martínez 80 years ago.
09:40 In Europe, death toll rises to 16 and there are more than 16 years after Storm Chiara
09:45 hit the continent.
09:46 The damage caused by the storm was extended to Italy, Portugal, Spain and five other countries
09:52 of the continent causing fatal accidents, falling trees and wind gases.
09:57 European authorities have also issued a red alert in different regions as a preventive
10:03 measure.
10:04 Also as a security measure, civil defense teams closed ports and schools while airlines
10:08 cancelled several flights.
10:30 Those who like dressing well and try on either traditional or stylish clothes, the following
10:36 stories are in their book, which is the last one of the first season of Cuba on the Moon.
10:42 Let's meet the king of Guayaberas.
10:45 This November, San Cristóbal of Havana village celebrates its 504th anniversary.
10:55 Hanes prestigious designer Jordi Leal will present two of his latest collections to commemorate
11:01 such date.
11:02 Leal exclusively showed El Sur his series "My Havana and Cuba Beautiful Island" with
11:07 fashion models.
11:16 A slight representation of my last three collections, one entitled "My Havana", which are Guayaberas
11:21 illustrated with motifs identifying the capital, we further showcase a representation of Cuba,
11:27 beautiful island, made of Guayaberas pictured with motifs distinguishing each province,
11:32 and we display Guayaberas of the Americas proposal.
11:35 Many people wonder, why did I name them Guayaberas of the Americas, if garments are Cuban?
11:40 And why is so?
11:41 I think Guayabera garments are definitely Cuban, but somehow they started to be Latin
11:46 American too, as their use has been spread across the region, including the United States.
11:54 Leal alias the King of Guayaberas assures dressing on such clothes is like wearing Cuba.
12:00 However, he recognizes that despite Guayaberas are national garments, yet Cuban youngsters
12:05 don't defend them as they should.
12:09 We have been losing ground in Cuba.
12:11 Fortunately, Mexico and Panama defend so much the use of Guayaberas.
12:15 Currently, sometimes people associate them with those countries' culture, because of
12:20 the types of embroidery and weaving.
12:22 Hence, I think we have been losing ground, but we are still on time to recovery.
12:28 That's why Leal is determined to modernize Guayaberas, keeping their essence.
12:34 We modernize Guayaberas by respecting their significant elements.
12:38 Let's say we keep the same rows and saddlebacks, the upper, lower front and back yoke, which
12:43 is where the rows of saddlebacks start and end.
12:46 Let's say we keep the same pockets sometimes, but this one I am wearing has no pockets.
12:51 Anyway, who says it isn't a Guayabera?
12:54 We changed the idea that Guayaberas just ought to have classic colors.
12:58 We designed them with a Chinese color like this one, and it looks very pretty, very attractive.
13:04 In this case of designs for women, even with necklines, at the beginning, I remember, many
13:09 designers told me, "How did you dare design a Guayabera with a neckline in the front,
13:14 in the back, with flared sleeves?
13:16 Where did you see that?"
13:17 Well, those are just the most popular designs.
13:21 For over 10 years, Leal has been directing and modeling the academy with comprehensive
13:26 preparation for children at Olasen and Jonesters.
13:29 Now he is working on the Guayaberas G. Leal project, which is in transition to a medium-sized
13:35 company with a future international scope.
13:37 And he is writing a book entitled "Son of Cuba" as well.
13:41 But so far, what obsesses him is a house Guayabera museum in Havana, Cuba.
13:48 Coming up soon, the Guayabera museum will be opened here in Havana to exhibit designs
13:53 made to several personalities, as visitors enjoy such collections.
13:57 In addition, attendees will see original Guayaberas illustrated by prominent visual artists.
14:02 Many people think they are replicas, but no.
14:05 So this fact adds an additional value to each Guayabera.
14:09 Lord Leal has been defending the use of Guayaberas for 10 years.
14:18 The first of these garments he designed was for his daughter's mother when she was pregnant.
14:24 Then he made one for his baby, which he says caused a sensation.
14:28 Now he has over 30 collections with the most ingenious design.
14:33 Today his Guayaberas are worn by diplomats, officials, presidents, porn glories, artists,
14:38 and painters.
14:39 But his wish is that they are worn by everyone in Cuba.
14:43 Almost all Guayaberas of these new ambassadors who are being accredited here in Cuba are
14:49 designed by me.
14:50 Right now, at the 77th PLOS China Summit, which was held here, many presidents, ministers,
14:56 deputy ministers, in all modesty, when they speak about Guayaberas, immediately they think
15:01 of Jordi Leal.
15:02 Guayaberas for me are something I can no longer live without them.
15:06 I can't conceive my life without designing, without working on Guayaberas.
15:12 So far, the king of Guayaberas says his wish is that Cubans acquire a bigger culture of
15:17 dressing well, and that on Cuban street, the national garment is seen more often with pride,
15:23 style, and distinction.
