00:20 Hi, my name's Darren Williams.
00:31 I'm the officer in charge of Arminal Police Station.
00:35 Also the local area controller for
00:40 incident management stuff in the area.
00:44 So today was about testing our capability of all different organizations for
00:50 an aircraft incident at the Arminal Airport.
00:53 The whole idea was, as I said, it was about testing our response,
00:58 our capability in relation to dealing with a large scale aircraft crash.
01:04 This incident had 28 passengers on board,
01:07 which involved a number of wounded, a number of deceased patients.
01:11 Aircraft on fire, which involved technically shutting down the airport,
01:19 involving New South Wales Fire and Rescue, New South Wales SES,
01:23 New South Wales Ambulance Service, to get in and get it done.
01:27 >> For every two years, it is a full field exercise stimulating.
01:31 And we've got some injured passengers.
01:34 So we've got all emergency services here from the area.
01:37 We've got fire, ambulance, police, SES, and also the army.
01:43 So this is designed to test our procedures and
01:45 to also test the responders' procedures as well.
01:49 So safety and compliance is what we're about here at Arminal Regional Airport.
01:54 And today we're certainly fixing that muscle.
01:58 >> My name is Chrissy.
01:59 I work for Arminal Airport Services.
02:01 And we contract QantasLink and Link Airways out of Arminal Airport.
02:07 So today coming into this emergency exercise, it was a really great
02:11 opportunity for us to activate our station emergency response plan.
02:16 And to train a couple of our newer staff members about how things would go
02:21 down in a real life emergency, especially with today's example,
02:26 the larger passenger plane.
02:28 It's something that doesn't happen very often.
02:31 But it's definitely really important to understand the workings
02:38 out of how these operations go and communicating with other agencies.
02:43 So we have our procedures that we follow.
02:47 And then we communicate with the other emergency services like the police,
02:52 fire and rescue, the ambulance, and
02:54 the council as well, who operate the airport here.
