How does the NBA In-Season Tournament work? Let 2016 NBA champion Richard Jefferson explain it to you.

00:00 All right, everybody, the NBA first ever in-season tournament is now official.
00:05 But how does it work? Like this.
00:07 All 30 teams will be split into six groups.
00:11 Three from the east, three from the west,
00:14 with a random draw based on last year's regular season records.
00:18 Each team in a group plays each other one time, a total of four games.
00:22 Basically, these regular season NBA games also count as tournament games.
00:27 In each group, the team with the best group play record
00:30 after those four games, they're moving on.
00:33 The team with the next best record in each conference,
00:36 those two are the wild cards that get to the knockout round.
00:39 Eight teams, single elimination.
00:41 And the last four teams standing, guess what?
00:44 You're headed to Vegas, baby! That's right!
00:47 In Las Vegas, the semifinal battles will get us
00:50 to the championship game on December 9th.
00:52 Two teams in a winner-take-all final to be named champion
00:56 and be awarded the first ever NBA Cup.
