George Byers is occupying a bit of a different role this season for Sheffield Wednesday - here's what he had to say about it.
Transcript
00:00 He wants me to play as a number six at this moment in time.
00:03 He feels that I can control games a bit deeper
00:08 and let the attacking players and stuff go forward.
00:12 So it's a role that I've played before
00:14 and obviously that Danny wants me to play now.
00:18 So I'm just really enjoying how he sees the side of football
00:23 and how he sees how the game wants to play out
00:26 and things like that.
00:27 So it's something that I'm enjoying at the moment
00:29 and something that I want to get better at with his guidance.
00:33 And with that particular role, you are, as you say,
00:36 getting stuck in and trying to break up the game
00:38 and getting interceptions and kind of start attacks.
00:42 And that's been my role so far,
00:44 to get the ball and give it to the players
00:47 that can make it happen.
00:48 So I'd say in previous roles,
00:52 I've been asked to get forward a lot more
00:54 and this kind of role that I'm more sitting a little bit
00:59 as you like and letting the other players go and attack
01:02 and create things.
