00:17 >> Tonight's Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
00:20 is back in one of the best fight cities
00:22 in the United States, Omaha, Nebraska,
00:25 coming to you live from Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
00:29 >> Hey, everyone, with Chris "Lights Out" Lytle,
00:31 I'm Sean Wheelock.
00:33 Chris, a rematch somewhat in tonight's main event.
00:37 January 2010 in Pro MMA,
00:40 Houston Alexander versus Joey Beltran.
00:43 It was a post-UFC Houston Alexander,
00:45 a pre-UFC Joey Beltran.
00:47 Beltran winning by way of second round TKO
00:50 due to ground and pound.
00:51 >> Yeah, it is a rematch,
00:52 but not really.
00:53 Totally different styles,
00:54 totally different fights.
00:55 However, in that fight,
00:56 Joey Beltran was able to do what he was supposed to do,
00:59 and he was taking Houston Alexander out of his game.
01:02 He knew he didn't want to stand in front of him
01:03 and trade punches, so what did he do?
01:04 He pushed him into the fence, took him down,
01:07 wore him down and stopped him in the second.
01:08 Now, you cannot take somebody down here, obviously,
01:11 but he can get inside, grind, push the face,
01:14 wear him down.
01:15 That's what Joey Beltran does better than anybody.
01:17 He makes people fight his fight.
01:18 He does not want to stand in front of Houston
01:21 and trade punches, so that's going to be the game plan.
01:23 Bring him in the deep water
01:24 and drown him late in the fight zone.
01:26 >> Time now for our feature fight of the evening.
01:29 Set at 165 pounds is the numbers presented by Press and Tools.
01:34 Carlos Trinidad versus Rynel Riley.
01:37 >> Right here you see Carlos Trinidad
01:39 have a two-inch height advantage,
01:41 but reach almost identical.
01:44 Riley does have a little bit bigger upper hand.
01:46 Let's see if that can make a difference.
01:48 More surface area to land those big punches.
01:51 >> This is round number three
01:53 in the Veronical Fighting Championship for Rynel Riley.
01:56 He's had two in pro boxing.
01:59 Riley told us in our fight arena,
02:01 his main focus in training for this welterweight bout
02:04 versus Carlos Trinidad's snake
02:06 was in smooth transitions from offense to defense.
02:09 He said, "I have to throw him as he set my hands."
02:11 >> One thing he was really adamant about
02:13 was his conditioning for this.
02:15 He felt last time he gassed out,
02:16 he wasted too much energy on punches,
02:19 had too much muscle.
02:20 He totally changed his body, trimmed down quite a bit.
02:22 He feels like he's going to have
02:24 much better endurance in this fight.
02:26 >> Riley said, "I want to close the distance off of my jab."
02:30 Heavy body shots.
02:31 He said, "I feel that Carlos Trinidad's snake
02:34 will struggle when he is forced to fight backwards.
02:36 I will force him to fight backwards."
02:39 >> Really wants to focus the body.
02:41 What we always talk about, hooks to the body,
02:43 jabs to the body.
02:44 Wants to make sure he's getting up first
02:46 and going heavily to the body
02:48 was his main point of the fight.
02:50 [crowd cheering]
02:53 >> Big ovation for Carlos Trinidad's snake.
02:58 2-0 in BKFC, 2-0 in his pro MMA career.
03:01 He's also had one pro boxing bout.
03:04 Trinidad's snake told us that when he utilizes
03:06 constant stocking pressure
03:08 to smartly lock down Ryan El Rally.
03:13 >> He said he wants to be all the way in, all the way out.
03:15 Feels like he has a great flinch
03:17 to do a lot of good uppercut.
03:19 Remember, on the outside, wants to pop the jab
03:22 and keep his opponent on the back foot.
03:24 >> Trinidad's snake also said,
03:26 "I know Ryan El Rally is going to keep coming forward
03:29 off of power punches.
03:30 I have to circle out.
03:32 I feel that he fades badly after two rounds.
03:36 I believe he will punch himself out."
03:37 >> That's what it feels like.
03:39 He wants to control the pace and the distance with that jab.
03:42 It feels like if he can win and where the fight happens,
03:45 he can wear his opponent out and win the fight.
03:47 [crowd cheering]
03:50 >> Taking our feature fight of the evening,
03:52 we get the fight started, we send it back to Jeff Houston.
03:56 >> Ladies and gentlemen, we are now set for our feature fight
04:01 of the night!
04:03 Scheduled for five two-minute rounds
04:05 in the Walter Wake division.
04:07 Presented to you by Crescent Tools.
04:10 Introducing to you first, fighting out of the red corner,
04:13 tonight he wears gold and black.
04:15 He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, his official weight,
04:18 an even 166 pounds.
04:21 His bare knuckle record stands at one victory
04:23 opposite a single defeat.
04:25 Fighting out of Fort Worth, Texas,
04:28 by way of Jacksonville, Florida,
04:32 here is Rynell "The Black Rhino" Riley!
04:42 [crowd cheering]
04:45 And across the ring, his opponent,
04:47 fighting out of the blue corner.
04:48 Tonight he wears blue.
04:49 He stands an even 6 feet tall.
04:52 His official weight, an identical 166 pounds.
04:56 He is undefeated in the squared circle at 2 and 0.
05:00 Fighting out of Omaha, Nebraska,
05:07 here is the undefeated Carlos "Trinidad" Snake!
05:19 And now, our referee in charge of the action, Andrew Glenn.
05:23 Rynell Riley told us, I believe, Carlos "Trinidad" Snake
05:26 will want to stay on the outside,
05:28 keep waiting for the perfect punch,
05:30 and will negate that by continually being first.
05:33 Round number one.
05:35 Dark blue trunks for Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
05:37 Dark blue trunks.
05:39 Right?
05:43 Coming in off that right hand, Rynell Riley,
05:46 on the outside, exactly where he wants to be.
05:48 Carlos "Trinidad" Snake jab to the body from Riley.
05:51 Wow, a snake.
06:00 And a big swing down goes Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
06:05 That punch didn't even land,
06:07 but then I think of the way he hit the chest,
06:08 just right away, those punches were such a blast.
06:11 I mean, can you imagine who's going to knock you down
06:13 sometimes?
06:15 "Trinidad" Snake taking the count from Glenn,
06:17 and he's got a lot of power back to him.
06:20 "Trinidad" Snake definitely getting the poke there.
06:24 He's knocked out bright.
06:27 Jab again from Rynell Riley.
06:30 Little jab into the right hand, counter left hook
06:32 from "Trinidad" Snake as he circles up.
06:36 Big power jab from Rynell Riley.
06:40 And Wright misses.
06:43 Fifty seconds remaining, round number one
06:45 of our feature fight.
06:46 And he misses it.
06:48 Jab from Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
06:52 Little hook jab from Riley.
06:54 Overhand right.
06:57 "Trinidad" Snake claiming.
06:59 Took a shot to the cup.
07:00 Right on, says referee Andrew Glenn.
07:04 Right to the body.
07:05 Right hand to the head from Rynell Riley.
07:10 Rynell Riley seems a lot more smooth right now
07:13 than he did in his last fight.
07:15 He's really learned to pace himself a little bit better.
07:18 Not wasting any punches.
07:19 He's nice and tight.
07:20 Nice bones and more elbow.
07:22 Carlos "Trinidad" Snake for the second time
07:24 in round one, claiming he took a shot to the cup.
07:28 Second time, that claim has been ignored.
07:30 Final seconds, round number one.
07:32 There is the bell.
07:35 Right here, you can see,
07:37 look, that punch right there was close to the neck,
07:40 so I'm not really sure, but--
07:42 It was the short left hand.
07:43 The right went on the shoulder,
07:44 and the short left hand was dropped in front of that.
07:46 It was enough, but, like, it didn't land in the face.
07:48 It was just a power, and knocked
07:50 "Trinidad" Snake off balance, I believe.
07:54 Round number two.
07:55 [crowd shouting]
07:59 Very high for Rynell Riley.
08:03 To the body.
08:07 "Trinidad" Snake has an awkward style
08:09 where he kind of climbs down,
08:11 and he has to put a lot of weight on that front foot.
08:14 [crowd shouting]
08:18 He's swinging a miss with a hook to the body.
08:20 Counter left hand from "Trinidad" Snake.
08:22 [crowd shouting]
08:25 Riley continues to come forward with measured purpose.
08:29 And right.
08:31 [crowd shouting]
08:34 And a turn.
08:36 And they're looking for the jab to the body.
08:39 And a counter, and we're at one knockdown apiece.
08:43 "Trinidad" Snake landing the body shot
08:45 that drops Rynell Riley.
08:48 Same thing. Didn't look like he really knew,
08:50 but it did knock him off balance.
08:51 That's a good call.
08:52 [crowd shouting]
08:55 It's that jab, I think, that's given.
08:57 When Rynell Riley crowns, you get the cut over his eye.
09:00 I think that's caused by the jab.
09:02 [crowd shouting]
09:06 No urgency from "Trinidad" Snake
09:08 after recording the knockdown of Riley here in round two.
09:12 And it's "Trinidad" Snake staying on the outside.
09:16 Left to the body.
09:18 Counter left hand from Rynell Riley on the hook.
09:22 And he just gets up to the body.
09:25 Five seconds remaining in round two.
09:28 Stay-at-jack from "Trinidad" Snake.
09:31 Slicing through that open guard of Riley.
09:35 Left hook.
09:36 And...
09:38 [crowd shouting]
09:42 A lot of blood coming from Riley's left eye.
09:45 Closing stages, round number two.
09:49 One knockdown apiece.
09:51 Presumably one round apiece as we head to round three.
09:56 And the thing that I love is that he's a real athlete.
09:58 Carlos "Trinidad" Snake is dictating when the fight happens.
10:02 And when it happens, he stays on the outside
10:04 and when he can't go in,
10:05 we're gonna take a look at this knockdown real quick.
10:07 There it was.
10:09 [crowd shouting]
10:13 And landed on the chin right there, Sean.
10:17 Like I said, I don't think it did.
10:20 And that damage really hurt Riley,
10:21 but it definitely knocked him off balance.
10:24 Definitely called five back points.
10:27 But what I was trying to say earlier was,
10:30 "Trinidad" Snake's doing a great job
10:31 of deciding really well the fight happens.
10:33 Riley's totally countering the punch
10:36 when Carlos "Trinidad" Snake comes inside.
10:38 The guy who usually dictates when and where the fight happens
10:40 is usually winning the fight right here,
10:42 especially on the judges' line.
10:44 [crowd shouting]
10:48 Seconds out cold.
10:50 Riley's gotta do a better job of trying to get off first.
10:52 Really step the back jab, get inside, throw punches.
10:55 He cannot wait for his opponent to come inside
10:57 and then try and counter.
10:59 We're not privy to the judges' scorecards.
11:01 Nebraska has not adopted, at least not yet,
11:04 real-time scoring, but presumably,
11:06 with a very rare score of 18-18 for two rounds.
11:11 Tamee Riley on the knockdown round one.
11:15 Tight, Carlos "Trinidad" Snake,
11:16 the knockdown of Brian O'Reilly round two.
11:19 30 seconds now until round number three.
11:22 It's Jeff and Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
11:25 Let's see here.
11:27 Riley's giving a little bit of work with his body,
11:29 so he's getting a little bit of a slip right there.
11:32 [crowd shouting]
11:35 Coming forward, both fighters down a double slip.
11:38 This sucks by a good way.
11:40 [crowd shouting]
11:44 And that snake continuing to paw at the jab.
11:48 Now a stiff jab from Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
11:51 [crowd shouting]
11:53 Right on the upper cut, Riley just misses to the body.
11:58 Constant forward pressure, though, Chris, from Brian O'Reilly.
12:02 He's constantly moving forward right there,
12:03 but he's not deciding when to fight.
12:05 There's a snake that moves, moves, moves,
12:06 and then jumps in and throws punches right there.
12:08 Riley's constantly-- is countering his opponent.
12:12 [crowd shouting]
12:15 He's a clever turn.
12:16 Right hand on the exit from Riley,
12:18 but that was a very clever turn
12:19 of General Shipp and Carlos "Trinidad" Snake
12:22 to your point earlier, Chris, moving this fight,
12:25 taking it exactly where it wants to be.
12:29 To the center circle for both fighters.
12:32 To the body mount there.
12:34 [crowd shouting]
12:38 20 seconds remaining in round number 3.
12:40 Hook jab lands from "Trinidad" Snake.
12:43 [crowd shouting]
12:46 And that snake literally running to a better position.
12:49 Riley still coming forward, takes that body shot.
12:53 Overhand right.
12:54 Riley looking for the duck under.
12:58 Jab from Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
13:00 Another jab just before the belt.
13:02 The X.
13:03 Shot of "let's go" from Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
13:07 Now comes up to scratch.
13:09 Joy not to scratch run by Ryan O'Reilly as we start round number 4.
13:13 [crowd shouting]
13:17 Not there for Riley.
13:18 Wasn't there by a right, and he could be--
13:20 [crowd shouting]
13:26 Big right hand, and down goes Carlos "Trinidad" Snake.
13:30 That wound and knockdown,
13:31 time called immediately by Andrew Glenn.
13:34 As everyone just pointed to us in a commentary position
13:36 to say he was a headbutter.
13:38 [crowd shouting]
13:42 Now Glenn saying his thanks to Brian Dunn,
13:44 the head of the Nebraska Athletic Commission,
13:46 at the commission table.
13:48 A decisive right hand from Andrew Glenn.
13:50 See this right here coming in for the work.
13:52 [crowd shouting]
13:58 Huge cracks in his hands.
14:00 And sometimes that is the case.
14:02 When you're coming forward and trying to throw hard punches,
14:04 you are gonna get-- that is gonna happen.
14:06 I don't know if that was being a favor or a thing.
14:09 I don't think Brian O'Reilly was trying to headbutt right there.
14:12 I think he's trying to come forward and land hard shots.
14:14 I think that's a byproduct sometimes.
14:16 There's some knockdown news in soft wording
14:18 by Glenn to Riley to say, "Watch your head."
14:21 And with no ill intent.
14:23 [crowd shouting]
14:26 He just did a quick essential flash of hands.
14:28 [crowd shouting]
14:33 If he turned to that snake,
14:34 he could have taken up to five minutes to recover.
14:36 He wanted to get right back to him,
14:37 but takes that big left hand.
14:39 [crowd shouting]
14:41 And now he continues with his walk-forward pressure.
14:45 The snake continues to be elusive,
14:47 continues to move, angle circle on the outside.
14:50 [crowd shouting]
14:52 60 seconds remaining, round four.
14:54 [crowd shouting]
14:59 And that snake has been very clever with his jab.
15:02 Soft, soft, and hard.
15:05 Sometimes it's a range finder, sometimes it's with power,
15:07 but he's always going to run.
15:09 Just like that.
15:12 To the body from Riley.
15:13 That'll do him a better job this time with landing punches.
15:17 Getting inside the stone, hard punches,
15:18 and some of them are in the center of the mark,
15:20 but you have to be more accurate.
15:22 I think he's done a better job this time.
15:24 [crowd shouting]
15:25 And a left hand from Riley.
15:27 [crowd shouting]
15:31 That snake opening up his chest in his stance.
15:34 [crowd shouting]
15:41 Losing seconds, round number four.
15:44 Again, Riley dropping Trinidad Snake in round one.
15:48 Trinidad Snake dropping Riley in round two.
15:52 Jab to the body from Rino Riley,
15:54 and we move to the fifth and final round.
15:57 Rino Riley has to approach this fifth and final round
16:00 as must win.
16:02 The rolling steady jab from Trinidad Snake,
16:05 but left hand.
16:07 Huge shot down and undercounter.
16:10 That wobble Trinidad Snake resets,
16:12 throws the block, rear right uppercut,
16:14 left hook from Riley.
16:16 [crowd shouting]
16:18 To the body from Rino Riley.
16:20 [crowd shouting]
16:26 A chant of carloads from this jam-packed Omaha crowd
16:31 here at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
16:33 - And I love that uppercut right there.
16:35 And I keep seeing him turn around and say,
16:37 "Every time I look, I'm seeing him.
16:38 I'm not looking."
16:40 [crowd shouting]
16:47 - Riley walks into that rear right uppercut.
16:51 - He's had a long time by Trinidad Snake.
16:53 - So that's the most effective front right hand jab
16:55 for Trinidad Snake.
16:56 It's very good.
16:58 [crowd shouting]
17:00 - Riley's been methodical in his forward pressure.
17:03 Trinidad Snake has been slick with his outside movement.
17:07 Extended jab, left hook.
17:10 Five seconds remaining, fifth and final round
17:12 of our feature fight.
17:13 Jab again from Carlos Trinidad Snake.
17:16 [crowd shouting]
17:21 If Carlos Trinidad Snake wins this fight for me,
17:24 it's largely because of his jab.
17:26 - I see that right right uppercut.
17:28 [crowd shouting]
17:30 - Rino Riley wins this fight for me.
17:33 It's largely because of that constant
17:35 forward walk-down pressure.
17:37 - You can just tell when he lands punches,
17:39 even if they were land clean, I mean,
17:41 Trinidad Snake's body flies backwards,
17:43 so that can just give the perception right there
17:45 of a Miami home run.
17:47 [crowd shouting]
17:49 - You heard the ten-second clack.
17:51 Stretch drive now of our feature fight.
17:54 Both fighters looking for one more significant shot to land.
17:57 [bell dings]
17:58 - Wow!
17:59 - That is the end of the bout.
18:02 - Well, I guess we're gonna see how the judges
18:04 are scoring these shots.
18:05 - More pressure, harder shots.
18:07 There's gonna be volume.
18:10 Slickness, thickness is, uh--
18:12 I still feel like it's gonna be all about that last round.
18:17 Wouldn't be surprised to see his focus again.
18:20 But I've been wrong before.
18:23 - Where you've been right, the judges have been wrong.
18:25 - That's more like it, Sean. I think you're right there.
18:27 - Well said.
18:29 [crowd shouting]
18:32 [crowd cheering]
18:35 [crowd shouting]
18:38 [crowd shouting]
18:41 [crowd shouting]
18:44 [crowd shouting]
18:47 [crowd shouting]
18:50 [crowd shouting]
18:53 - Carlos Trinidad Snake, Rydell Riley
18:57 going the distance.
18:59 Five rounds, all ten minutes.
19:02 [crowd shouting]
19:05 [crowd shouting]
19:08 - Scorecards being tabulated now.
19:10 The condition table.
19:12 - Let's see how long they take.
19:14 A lot of times when it takes a long time,
19:17 usually have a split in travel.
19:19 Adam, are you Adam? Is this right?
19:21 - The judges have signed a head statement.
19:23 - That's gotta be the condition.
19:25 - Hey, where's that cardio, boy?
19:28 Where's that cardio? Where's that cardio?
19:31 - As you know, I've spent--
19:33 - --the athletic condition table.
19:35 Those ten times and eights can become a trouble.
19:38 [crowd shouting]
19:41 - Get the calculator out, maybe.
19:44 - You and I know that, generally speaking,
19:47 a delay of this magnitude means something other
19:50 than a unanimous decision.
19:52 [crowd shouting]
19:54 - Carlos Trinidad Snake
19:56 playing to his--
19:58 [crowd shouting]
20:01 - We shall see.
20:03 - To end all suspicions.
20:05 [crowd shouting]
20:07 - Ladies and gentlemen,
20:09 after completing the scheduled five rounds,
20:12 here are the score totals from our judges at ringside.
20:15 Jeff Sinnott and Mike Contreras,
20:18 48-45,
20:20 and Rob Lures, 47-46.
20:24 All in favor of your winner by unanimous decision...
20:28 Carlos Trinidad Snake!
20:37 [crowd shouting]
20:39 - Big win right there for Trinidad Snake.
20:41 Moves into 3-0, nothing but glories
20:44 for the future of this game.
20:46 [crowd shouting]
20:53 - Carlos Trinidad Snake keeps on rolling,
20:56 pulling himself off of the canvas in round number one,
21:00 dropping Rhynell Riley in round number two.
21:03 Hard fought from Riley,
21:05 well fought from Trinidad Snake.
21:07 The win by way of unanimous decision,
21:10 Carlos Trinidad Snake defeats Rhynell Riley.
21:13 (upbeat music)
