Artemis II Astronaut Announcement April 3 2023 Official NASA

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the Artemis II mission was a planned mission by NASA as part of the Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the Moon and eventually establish a sustainable presence there. However, the specific astronauts selected for the Artemis II mission may not have been publicly announced by that time.

Artemis II is intended to be the second crewed mission of the Artemis program and will follow Artemis I, an uncrewed test flight of the Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion spacecraft. The mission is planned to carry a crew of astronauts on a lunar flyby, without landing on the Moon. The goal of Artemis II is to test the performance of the SLS and Orion spacecraft in a crewed mission to prepare for future lunar landings.
