00:00 Good morning everybody, Joe Cram from the Sheffield Star here.
00:03 Just wanted to give you a little bit of an update on our interview with Deepan Chansiri, the Sheffield Wednesday owner.
00:09 We spent about three hours with the chairman this week, sort of talking over a load of different issues
00:15 surrounding the club, both on the football side and off the pitch.
00:19 Obviously the first article went up and that was discussing the financial situation that Wednesday find themselves in,
00:26 the transfer embargo which at the time of recording this has not been lifted,
00:30 which would suggest that it's not been paid to HMRC, that bill.
00:34 We also spoke about the problems over wages, both non-playing and playing staff.
00:39 That has since been settled as far as we understand.
00:42 The staff, the youth academy and the senior players were all paid in full yesterday on time,
00:48 so there was no issues there after all that, which is...
00:54 There was a lot of panic that was caused over Wednesday's financial situation because of that potential lack of wages.
01:00 It does give them a little bit more time to work on paying off the HMRC bill
01:06 and the speed at which they approach the 30-day deadline will slow down now because those wages have been paid.
01:13 There is more to come from our interview with the chairman.
01:16 We spoke to him about potential sale of the club, we spoke about future ownership,
01:21 we spoke a little bit about Danny Rurl and the meeting that he's got planned with him,
01:28 asked about Liam Dooley, Alistair Wilson, all these different things going off at the club.
01:32 So there is plenty more to come. Keep your eyes on the start at Curtain UK.
01:35 We'll get those up in the next few days and I'll speak to you soon. Cheers.
