00:04 Now, we come to the Q&A portion of the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.
00:12 I'll sit down.
00:13 The legendary Tita Boy, above everyone.
00:17 Okay, we have the first question.
00:20 Miss Philippines, why is it important to have more women leaders in society?
00:29 Essentially, I believe if we have more women leaders, it'll be a reflection of a more diverse, inclusive, and empowered world.
00:37 You know, women have this innate quality of being empathetic, understanding, and compassionate.
00:43 And you know, the statistics will show only a third of the leaders around the world are women.
00:48 And with that representation, we can really amplify the voices of women,
00:52 make sure that all of the opportunities and the social issues such as gender-based violence and the lack of women education around the world are addressed,
01:00 and that every woman feels that she has a seat at the table as well.
01:05 [Applause]
01:10 You know, even if I were coaching you, I have nothing to add.
01:14 Everything is perfect.
01:16 Maybe you just thought, don't taper off at the end.
01:21 Okay.
01:22 Always end strong.
01:24 Correct.
01:25 Because that's a powerful line.
01:26 Every woman in the world has a place on the table.
01:31 Thank you.
01:32 Thank you.
01:33 But every word in that answer matters.
01:38 Thank you.
01:39 Wonderful.
01:40 Let's go to the next question.
01:41 It's like my soul is drying up.
01:44 Okay, Miss Philippines.
01:48 Amidst the ongoing wars in some parts of the world, as a queen, what can you do?
01:56 Your time begins now.
01:58 Tita Boy, nobody wins at war.
02:01 There are only countries that should be safe spaces for their citizens.
02:06 Those are ruined.
02:07 Families are torn apart.
02:09 And most especially the children.
02:11 They're exposed to so much fear and violence at such a young age when they should be fostering a happy life and a happy childhood.
02:18 If I were Miss Universe, I would really use my platform to leverage and promote inclusivity,
02:24 to promote cooperation and understanding for all of these leaders, especially conflicting nations,
02:31 to really work together because we should all live in a world that is peaceful, that is united, and that is safe for everybody.
02:39 Thank you.
02:40 Thank you.
02:41 Thank you.
02:42 Lovely.
02:44 You know, this question might be asked because of what is happening in Israel, the Gaza thing, Ukraine.
02:53 There's a big possibility.
02:55 Yes, I believe so.
02:57 Beautiful. You're ready.
02:58 Thank you.
02:59 You're ready.
03:01 Michelle, before you leave, what would you like to say to the Filipino people?
03:09 To everyone, thank you so much for your support.
03:15 I've said this so many times, but I'm here because of all of you.
03:19 You made me see the potential that I had in myself, and I really just hope to make you all proud.
03:25 The fight is almost over.
03:27 Again, I'm putting 100% of myself into this journey to make sure that all of you are proud.
03:33 So, once again, just continue to vote, continue to support the country that we all love,
03:38 and let's hope destiny is behind us on November 18 as well.
03:42 Thank you. Thank you so much.
03:43 I love you. I love you.
03:45 I really like when you talk about destiny.
03:48 And again, I say it.
03:49 Destiny. That's my hashtag.
03:50 Yeah, I like it.
03:52 Respect your destiny. Love your destiny.
03:55 You know, Tito Boy, everything happens for a reason.
03:57 True.
03:58 It's either a lesson or a blessing, and no matter what happens,
04:00 as long as I know I put in a good fight, then I'll wake up happy the next day.
04:05 You're ready. You're determined.
04:07 You are hungry, and you love this country.
04:12 You want that crown so badly, and you say it, and when you say it, it happens.
04:16 So, Philippines, we have a heart. Thank you so much.
04:21 May I present to you, Miss Universe of 2023, Michelle D.
04:29 Thank you.
04:30 Promise me that when you come home, you come to FASTA, and we do another conversation.
04:39 Just like I promised when you told me after that first interview.
04:43 Thank you.
04:44 No, thank you, Tito Boy.
04:45 Thank you so much.
