00:00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:00:02 [APPLAUSE]
00:00:16 Thank you.
00:00:18 Thank you very much.
00:00:20 You know what I think I'm going to do?
00:00:22 I like the way-- let me see your mic.
00:00:23 Thank you all so much.
00:00:25 I think I might-- hold on.
00:00:26 Testing, one, two.
00:00:28 Testing, one, two.
00:00:29 Can I use this mic?
00:00:31 OK, I like the way this one sounds better.
00:00:34 Well, thank you, first of all, for the love.
00:00:36 I love this church.
00:00:38 I love you.
00:00:39 I love Wednesday School.
00:00:40 I love seeing what's happening.
00:00:42 I love the impartation.
00:00:44 I love the growth and the building.
00:00:46 And I'm excited about it.
00:00:48 And as Bishop mentioned, we're in the process
00:00:51 of figuring out how to make it even better so that it serves
00:00:55 you the more so that when we roll it out even more
00:00:58 consistently, it'll be better and better and better.
00:01:00 So tonight's going to be good.
00:01:02 I'm excited about our subject matter for tonight.
00:01:05 And I'm excited about what you guys have already received
00:01:08 and what you're going to receive tonight.
00:01:10 I believe there are going to be some tools that you get.
00:01:13 I'm excited to answer your questions
00:01:16 to the best of our ability.
00:01:17 I heard we oftentimes have a pop-up professor
00:01:21 by the name of Thomas Dexter Jakes who comes in.
00:01:24 And we were just--
00:01:26 I mean, we were here till 9:30 last week just talk to us.
00:01:30 But I'm excited.
00:01:31 I'm excited about this particular subject.
00:01:34 For those of you who don't know, I
00:01:35 have an organization, a business called Call Leaders,
00:01:39 where I talk to entrepreneurs.
00:01:41 I talk to leaders.
00:01:42 We do conferences, small conferences every year,
00:01:45 regional.
00:01:46 There's a podcast that you want to get into.
00:01:48 And it's powerful because it is not just about business.
00:01:52 It's about kingdom business.
00:01:54 And it's about giving you tools and things.
00:01:56 And so we only got a little bit of time together tonight.
00:01:59 And what I want to do to make certain
00:02:02 that tonight is most effective is I want to get--
00:02:05 after we pray--
00:02:06 I want to get an idea of who you are
00:02:08 and where you are on your journey in your kingdom
00:02:14 business.
00:02:14 I'm assuming you either are starting one, have started one,
00:02:18 and you want to scale it, are working in the marketplace
00:02:21 in some way.
00:02:21 You want to be effective.
00:02:22 So I'm going to just poll you after we
00:02:24 pray to get an idea of who you are so that I can make certain
00:02:27 that I'm feeding what you're hungry for.
00:02:31 Is that fair?
00:02:32 All right, let's pray.
00:02:33 Father, thank you so much, God, for this opportunity
00:02:37 to learn, to grow, to be sharpened.
00:02:40 I believe, Lord God, that everything
00:02:42 that you have for us, you've already put out there.
00:02:44 And all we have to do is align ourselves
00:02:46 and be hungry and thirsty and have our priorities intact.
00:02:50 And what has been placed out there for us will be ours.
00:02:54 I claim in advance we're going to be wiser, stronger.
00:02:58 Things are going to be unlocked.
00:02:59 And wherever we are on our journey
00:03:02 as it relates to business and kingdom
00:03:04 business and the marketplace, I thank you
00:03:06 that after tonight, we're going to be a little further.
00:03:08 So bless each one.
00:03:09 Bless their families.
00:03:10 Bless their enterprises.
00:03:12 Thank you, God, for wisdom, revelation, insight.
00:03:14 I thank you, God, that you've filled me with keys.
00:03:18 And God, we're going to distribute those keys tonight,
00:03:21 your divine keys, that will unlock things
00:03:23 unlike ever before.
00:03:24 We love you.
00:03:25 Bless this house.
00:03:26 Bless our great leaders in Jesus' name.
00:03:29 Amen.
00:03:30 Amen.
00:03:30 Amen.
00:03:31 So if you're here and you want to start a kingdom business--
00:03:35 let me just see your hands.
00:03:36 You want to start a kingdom business.
00:03:39 If you have started a kingdom business,
00:03:42 but you are two years--
00:03:45 no, you are a year or under.
00:03:48 Let me see your hand.
00:03:50 OK.
00:03:50 If you have started-- you're an entrepreneur.
00:03:52 You've started your company.
00:03:53 And you are five years, two to five years.
00:03:58 Let me see your hand.
00:04:00 OK.
00:04:00 You've got a business.
00:04:01 And you're over 10 years in that business.
00:04:03 Let's see.
00:04:04 OK, just a few of you.
00:04:07 Eight years?
00:04:08 OK, that's amazing.
00:04:10 Over 10?
00:04:11 Awesome.
00:04:12 Amazing.
00:04:12 And if you are here and you are in--
00:04:16 you don't own the company, but you are in business.
00:04:19 You're in leadership.
00:04:20 You're an executive in a company.
00:04:21 And you're looking to grow.
00:04:23 I want to see your hand as well.
00:04:26 OK.
00:04:27 OK.
00:04:27 OK.
00:04:28 So one more time, if you're starting a business--
00:04:31 let me see those hands one more time.
00:04:33 Just do it high.
00:04:34 OK.
00:04:35 You've started, but you're now--
00:04:36 I'm going to just do under five years.
00:04:38 And you want to scale it.
00:04:40 OK, good stuff.
00:04:42 All right.
00:04:42 Thank you.
00:04:44 Well, the title of this conversation
00:04:46 is Building a Kingdom Business.
00:04:49 And really, when it comes down to what--
00:04:52 kingdom business really comes down to your why.
00:04:55 Like, why do you want to start a business?
00:04:59 Why do you want to scale a business?
00:05:02 And that's important, because in order
00:05:04 to have a kingdom business-- and I'm
00:05:05 going to define that a little bit in just a second--
00:05:07 in order to have a kingdom business,
00:05:09 what you have to be grounded in is your why.
00:05:11 Because if you're not grounded in your why,
00:05:12 it will just become business.
00:05:14 It will start off as a kingdom business,
00:05:16 and it will become business.
00:05:17 And that will determine the decisions that you make.
00:05:20 And so let me give you just some definitions and some things
00:05:26 to consider when it comes to having a kingdom business.
00:05:31 Well, let's talk about business first.
00:05:34 And there should be screen support for this.
00:05:36 It's a long phrase, but we're going
00:05:40 to come back to each of these points
00:05:41 toward the end of our conversation,
00:05:44 and we'll unpack it.
00:05:45 But here is business itself is the amalgamation
00:05:48 of ideation, qualification, monetization--
00:05:53 of course, that's profitability.
00:05:55 You can screenshot that if you want to--
00:05:57 strategization, structurization--
00:06:01 I tried to flow with the zations and stuff like that.
00:06:04 I probably just should have said strategy structure.
00:06:07 But you know how preachers are.
00:06:10 Execution, evaluation, evolution, team building,
00:06:17 and of course, leadership.
00:06:18 So that's business in general.
00:06:22 A kingdom business is a business, of course.
00:06:25 It should have all those things in place--
00:06:28 ideation, qualification, monetization, strategy,
00:06:34 structure, execution, evaluation, evolution,
00:06:38 team building, and of course, leadership.
00:06:39 Of course, it should have all those things in place
00:06:42 because that's business.
00:06:43 But a kingdom business also has the added focus
00:06:46 that it enhances the world that that business is in,
00:06:50 and it has a positive impact on the owners, on the employees,
00:06:55 and those that the product or services reach.
00:06:59 So it's a business.
00:07:00 It truly is a business.
00:07:01 And we all know this.
00:07:03 You know this, or you wouldn't be in this room,
00:07:05 but you don't have to be ashamed to do business
00:07:09 about doing business as a kingdom person.
00:07:11 I had to-- I'm just tell you right--
00:07:12 I had to come out of that mentality.
00:07:14 I thought that doing business, being a man of God,
00:07:18 and doing business made me somehow less spiritual,
00:07:22 or I needed to watch out, or the love of money was the root of--
00:07:25 or money was the root of all evil.
00:07:27 And then what I learned over time
00:07:30 is that there are some things that God
00:07:32 wants to do in the earth, and he can only do it
00:07:35 through the construct of business.
00:07:38 Hello, somebody.
00:07:39 There's certain things that he wants to do,
00:07:42 but the type of framework that is required for that
00:07:45 to have the greatest impact has to be business.
00:07:49 I have another conviction.
00:07:51 I believe that everybody should have at least one business,
00:07:56 and that's rooted in Deuteronomy 818.
00:07:58 I think Bishop referenced it last week when he was here,
00:08:00 that God has given us the ability--
00:08:03 come on, Deuteronomy 818, you know this--
00:08:05 he's given us the ability to create wealth--
00:08:08 watch this-- that he might establish his covenant, which
00:08:14 he swore to his fathers.
00:08:15 In other words, there is a kingdom promise.
00:08:19 There is a kingdom impact connected with business.
00:08:24 That ability to create wealth in today's time
00:08:28 is in the structure of business.
00:08:30 So it is very much of God and godly for you to have,
00:08:36 I believe, in my estimation, at least one kingdom business
00:08:40 while we track it.
00:08:42 So let's really quickly--
00:08:45 I want to look at the primary purposes of a kingdom business,
00:08:49 and then we're going to get into some of the practicals.
00:08:52 The primary purpose for--
00:08:55 and these are three--
00:08:56 of a kingdom business is first and foremost-- or one of them
00:08:59 could be financing the kingdom.
00:09:01 So your business could not necessarily be a church,
00:09:05 or you're not handing out tracts,
00:09:07 you're not doing any of that.
00:09:09 It ain't John 3:16, heating and plumbing.
00:09:12 It's none of that.
00:09:14 But God has given you the ability to create wealth,
00:09:16 and your strategy for the amassing of that wealth
00:09:21 is to advance the kingdom, to fund kingdom initiatives.
00:09:24 So you're using your gift, your ability to make money,
00:09:28 to sow into the kingdom so that the kingdom has money.
00:09:33 Are you tracking with me?
00:09:35 That's one, to finance the kingdom.
00:09:38 Two-- and it can be one or all of these, or a combination--
00:09:43 is-- and we're talking about the purposes of a kingdom business--
00:09:46 is influencing the culture or society.
00:09:50 Business is a very powerful thing.
00:09:52 That's why when you look at government
00:09:54 and you look at some of the laws that are made,
00:09:56 some of the reasons why those laws are made
00:09:58 is because successful businesses are moving money,
00:10:02 they're moving people, they have influence over people.
00:10:04 So when they go to Washington to lobby,
00:10:07 because they're a business and because they're doing well,
00:10:09 guess what?
00:10:10 The powers that be listen.
00:10:13 So some of you in this room, because you are a business
00:10:16 owner and you're going to scale your business--
00:10:18 some of you may already be there--
00:10:19 God's going to give you witty ideas
00:10:20 and you're going to do things.
00:10:22 It's going to be so that you have the power to influence
00:10:24 the world around you.
00:10:26 Business is very powerful.
00:10:27 You know, Paul spent a lot of time in Ephesus.
00:10:29 We know that Ephesus was a port city.
00:10:31 And there was a lot of things moving there.
00:10:33 And you see he spent a lot of time there.
00:10:35 He spent time there because that was a gate to the world.
00:10:38 And it was happening-- there was a lot of merchants
00:10:40 that took place there.
00:10:41 So you get business people saved,
00:10:45 and now you're influencing things.
00:10:46 Because listen, people respond to money.
00:10:50 Are we together?
00:10:51 And not just influencing people outside,
00:10:55 but sometimes inside the organization.
00:10:58 If there's someone-- if you're a CEO of a company,
00:11:01 and obviously you're respected in that company,
00:11:03 you should be respected in that company,
00:11:05 you're admired in that company, and you've
00:11:06 got a junior executive or somebody down in the mailroom
00:11:09 or whatever, just an assistant, and they look up to you,
00:11:14 at some point, they're going to want you to mentor them.
00:11:18 They're ultimately going to want to know,
00:11:20 how did you get to be where you were?
00:11:22 And you get to say, well, you know, yeah, I went to school,
00:11:24 but you know what?
00:11:25 It was also by the grace of God.
00:11:27 Or I learned this.
00:11:28 So as a leader in an organization,
00:11:31 you also want to be influencing the people who work for you.
00:11:34 So not just the outside world-- we're going to get that--
00:11:37 but those in there.
00:11:38 As God gives you power and authority,
00:11:40 and he puts you in a place of success,
00:11:43 you can have an influence on those who work there.
00:11:46 And then the third thing is leveraging
00:11:48 the success of that business to get things done.
00:11:52 So when you win, people listen to you when you win.
00:11:54 Look at how many people flock to hear Jeff Bezos speak,
00:11:59 or Steve Jobs speak, or anyone who
00:12:02 has done something of notoriety.
00:12:03 Gives you a seat at the table.
00:12:07 People don't want to hear from you
00:12:09 unless you've killed something.
00:12:10 They want to know that you're just not the average bear.
00:12:13 They admire you.
00:12:14 You'd be surprised at how God will use your success
00:12:20 to lead people to him.
00:12:21 That's why it says, let your light shine.
00:12:23 Watch this.
00:12:24 Before men.
00:12:25 Let your light shine before men that they may see your good
00:12:29 works.
00:12:31 Come on.
00:12:32 That they may see your good works.
00:12:34 And the language there has to do with like this success
00:12:38 that you had.
00:12:39 It's got to be bigger than you.
00:12:42 And so it's to also get stuff done in the world.
00:12:46 Now, I want us to talk about--
00:12:50 we already touched on Deuteronomy 818.
00:12:53 I want us to talk--
00:12:54 and I want this to be very interactive.
00:12:56 I'm used to just teaching, and I've got a lot to say.
00:12:58 But I don't want to do that.
00:13:00 I really want to let the Lord pull stuff out of me.
00:13:03 But I do want to talk-- yes.
00:13:04 Oh, let's get it started.
00:13:05 Let's get it cracking.
00:13:06 [INAUDIBLE]
00:13:09 That's it.
00:13:10 Mm-hmm.
00:13:11 [INAUDIBLE]
00:13:13 Yeah.
00:13:13 [INAUDIBLE]
00:13:19 When you are successful, you're already leveraged.
00:13:23 Your success is your leverage.
00:13:25 And so for example, my wife, New York Times bestselling author,
00:13:31 she just got Time Magazine 100 next list.
00:13:38 She's on there.
00:13:39 That success, people are calling us now.
00:13:42 So your success speaks for you.
00:13:44 But she had to do--
00:13:46 but all of that was through doing--
00:13:49 she started with the blog, then Woman Evolve,
00:13:51 then all these sort of things, writing books,
00:13:53 all these things, and so her success.
00:13:55 And all those have business elements, by the way.
00:13:58 It's not just talent.
00:13:59 Come on.
00:14:03 Yeah.
00:14:03 It's not just talent.
00:14:04 But see, here's how business works.
00:14:07 When you see your grace, you have
00:14:10 to build structure around it.
00:14:13 So let me just tell you real quick,
00:14:14 and we're going to have a lot of interactive fun.
00:14:17 So my background is not church.
00:14:20 My background is not ministry.
00:14:21 I don't come from a long list of--
00:14:23 I don't come from no list of pastors and ministers,
00:14:25 none of that sort of stuff.
00:14:26 My background is business.
00:14:29 I'm an entrepreneur.
00:14:30 I've been an entrepreneur.
00:14:31 And I was in the technology space.
00:14:32 I built data centers for companies.
00:14:34 That's how I earned a living, right?
00:14:35 Then God touched me.
00:14:38 And although I was prospering outwardly,
00:14:42 I was dying inwardly, and I knew it.
00:14:44 So God touched me.
00:14:46 I got saved.
00:14:47 I got filled with the Holy Spirit.
00:14:49 And I started going to church and everything,
00:14:52 doing what Christians do.
00:14:54 I mean, I was around the church.
00:14:55 My mama loved Jesus, but not me.
00:14:58 It took me a minute to really fall in.
00:15:00 Now, we don't have some real talking.
00:15:02 OK.
00:15:03 So I get saved, and I get touched,
00:15:06 and I discern a call on my life, the same anointing that
00:15:10 allowed me to negotiate these high six and seven figure
00:15:15 deals with these Fortune 500 companies, that same gift of gab
00:15:19 as they call it--
00:15:21 come on, somebody-- that I was using to make money,
00:15:24 I begin to see that that was working on people getting
00:15:27 touched and saved.
00:15:28 OK, so I recognized the gift, but my business mind
00:15:33 kicked in.
00:15:34 And I said, I have to build structure around-- watch this--
00:15:37 my gift or my idea.
00:15:39 We're going to touch on ideation in a minute.
00:15:41 I had to build structure around my ideation
00:15:44 so that my gift would have the maximum impact.
00:15:47 That's how you have to look at business.
00:15:50 You have to say, I have an idea, but an idea
00:15:53 without the proper structure and strategy and systems
00:15:58 and processes and the right people will not be maximized.
00:16:03 So a lot of people think, OK, just because I have a good idea
00:16:07 it's going to hit.
00:16:07 No.
00:16:09 No.
00:16:10 I want to show you a quick video.
00:16:12 We're going to touch on these.
00:16:13 Very interactive.
00:16:14 But I want to show you a quick video from one
00:16:18 of my leadership and entrepreneur events
00:16:20 that I did earlier this year.
00:16:22 And I was working with this lady named Stacey Ann Russells.
00:16:26 And she's a powerful--
00:16:28 she loves Jesus, one, but she's a scientist.
00:16:31 The kid is brilliant.
00:16:34 And we had a conversation about going from ideation
00:16:39 to realization.
00:16:40 And this is a short little clip.
00:16:42 I think it's about a minute that I
00:16:44 think is a good kickstart for our conversation.
00:16:47 Let's run that clip real quick.
00:16:50 How does a person go from having an idea
00:16:53 to really being confident that it's a viable business?
00:16:58 Yeah, we have this term in the startup world called discovery.
00:17:02 And so it's super important that once you have an idea,
00:17:05 you move into customer discovery.
00:17:07 And you really want to figure out three things.
00:17:10 The first thing is what we talked about.
00:17:12 Is there someone who cares enough about this problem
00:17:15 or opportunity that they would do something different today?
00:17:19 The second thing is what needs to be true for them
00:17:24 to do something different today?
00:17:25 And that's when you find out what they value.
00:17:29 And then you have to figure out, is this problem or opportunity
00:17:33 big enough to sustain what it would take for you to deliver
00:17:37 value consistently over time until you become a business?
00:17:44 Isn't that a powerful thought?
00:17:46 See, because what happens is a lot of times we have an idea,
00:17:49 and it truly is a great idea to you.
00:17:54 But a great idea is not a business.
00:17:59 That's why you have to move from ideation to qualification.
00:18:02 I have to-- I've got this idea, and that is wonderful.
00:18:06 How many-- raise your hand if you've got an idea.
00:18:09 You should.
00:18:10 I give you the ability to create wealth, right?
00:18:13 So I'm never short of ideas.
00:18:16 But the idea, honestly, is actually the easy part.
00:18:22 It's the easiest part, right?
00:18:24 We're created in the image of God,
00:18:25 which means that we are creative.
00:18:27 It actually means that we have the potential to be creators.
00:18:30 But there's a difference between being a creative
00:18:32 and being a creator.
00:18:34 Being creative means that you can ideate,
00:18:36 and that's wonderful.
00:18:37 We can ideate.
00:18:38 But there's a difference between ideation
00:18:40 and that turning into a viable business.
00:18:42 So the moment that we have an idea, before we get excited
00:18:45 and we run off and start buying domain names-- come on,
00:18:48 somebody.
00:18:48 You know how we do-- and start getting our business cards made
00:18:51 and our signs made and all that kind of stuff,
00:18:53 and we'll get to that with the right idea,
00:18:55 we have to go through a process of qualifying it, research.
00:19:01 Because a lot of times, we think--
00:19:03 and we've heard our bishop say this-- a lot of times,
00:19:05 we think that our customer is us.
00:19:07 If I'm moved by the idea, then surely everybody's
00:19:11 going to be moved by the idea.
00:19:13 And that's not true.
00:19:14 And I love what she talked about.
00:19:15 We did a whole podcast together and everything.
00:19:17 I'll make sure that I tweet out something or whatever
00:19:20 so you can listen to that.
00:19:21 But I want to stop right there, because we
00:19:26 can get into the qualification process of what that looks like.
00:19:29 But I want to field questions.
00:19:30 I want this to be interactive.
00:19:31 I got a big mouth.
00:19:32 I can't help it.
00:19:34 Yes.
00:19:34 Wait, so hold on.
00:19:36 Maurice, tell them how to do the question thing.
00:19:38 Yeah, I don't--
00:19:38 If you have a question, let me know.
00:19:40 I don't need to-- everybody can do it.
00:19:42 I mentioned you walk around.
00:19:48 Mm-hmm.
00:19:48 [INAUDIBLE]
00:19:49 You're good.
00:19:50 You're totally good.
00:19:51 So I like the thought about building structure
00:19:57 around the gift.
00:19:59 Can you dig a little bit deeper there for us?
00:20:02 What does that look like when you say build structure
00:20:05 around the gift?
00:20:06 Yeah.
00:20:07 OK, so we'll use gift and idea interchangeably,
00:20:12 only because I think it will make certain
00:20:14 that we touch everybody.
00:20:16 So the idea is a gift.
00:20:19 So that's perfect.
00:20:20 It works wonderfully.
00:20:21 So I have an idea.
00:20:23 But how do I distribute the idea?
00:20:28 How do I market the idea?
00:20:30 How do I-- before we even get to the structure,
00:20:34 how do I qualify whether or not that idea is a business?
00:20:38 So these are a lot of questions that you
00:20:40 have to ask, because every good idea is not a business.
00:20:45 So with me-- hold on a second.
00:20:51 Give me one second.
00:20:52 I'll pull this whole thing off.
00:20:53 This thing got a little clip on it.
00:20:55 Do this for me real fast.
00:20:59 Just unclip that for me.
00:21:02 You see it?
00:21:03 All right.
00:21:05 You got it?
00:21:06 Thank you.
00:21:07 So I'll use an example.
00:21:12 So for me, the church, even though it was not
00:21:16 for making money, I had to create a church, which
00:21:21 is a business.
00:21:21 It's an organization.
00:21:22 It's a business.
00:21:23 You've got business laws you have to apply.
00:21:25 There's certain, obviously, considerations
00:21:27 because it's a nonprofit.
00:21:28 But I said, OK, so I have this anointing,
00:21:30 and I have this gift, and I have this opportunity.
00:21:32 But how do I maximize it?
00:21:35 How do I create a stage and a structure,
00:21:39 not so that the business can exist, but so that it can be
00:21:41 everything that God has created it to be?
00:21:43 That's the reason why I referenced me
00:21:46 building structure around it.
00:21:47 I recognized the gift, but I didn't--
00:21:49 it was kind of interesting because I didn't grow up
00:21:51 in church.
00:21:51 I didn't know church culture, but I understood marketing.
00:21:54 I understood processes.
00:21:55 I understood systems.
00:21:56 So I built the church from scratch,
00:21:59 and I built it around my gift.
00:22:00 And I just started asking questions.
00:22:02 How?
00:22:03 I had the why down.
00:22:04 I want to touch people.
00:22:05 But how do I do it in a way that blesses the majority
00:22:11 or blesses the maximum amount of people?
00:22:13 So I went to conferences because there's somebody--
00:22:16 you may have a new idea, but there's
00:22:18 somebody who did something kind of close to what you did
00:22:20 before.
00:22:21 So I started studying the landscape.
00:22:23 We did research.
00:22:24 We did polls and stuff like that.
00:22:26 What do people want in a church?
00:22:28 And I just built structure around it.
00:22:30 Listen, I didn't have it all figured out.
00:22:32 I learned a lot of things along the way,
00:22:34 but I was committed to create something
00:22:37 that would allow what I was trying to do to be viable,
00:22:42 to grow, sustain itself.
00:22:43 And that church is still-- listen, I'm here now.
00:22:45 That church is still going.
00:22:46 It's still going strong.
00:22:47 I'm there like once every two months now.
00:22:49 So-- and we can talk more about strategy and structure
00:22:51 and leadership and all that kind of stuff.
00:22:53 But it is ultimately taking a step back and saying,
00:22:58 I have a gift.
00:22:59 One, who is it for?
00:23:01 OK, where are they?
00:23:04 Right, because I don't-- the last thing
00:23:07 that you can expect somebody to do
00:23:09 is come to your prod duck because it is good.
00:23:14 I have one of my friends is a big time music exec,
00:23:18 and we did this song, "On Time God."
00:23:21 Well, we've done a whole bunch of songs,
00:23:22 but we recently wrote and distributed
00:23:24 that song, "On Time God."
00:23:25 And he says something simply profound.
00:23:27 He was like, the only thing good music doesn't do
00:23:30 is sell itself.
00:23:33 So where are the people?
00:23:34 What are my channels to the people?
00:23:37 Right?
00:23:38 What is my competition doing?
00:23:40 How do I distinguish myself so that I'm not noise--
00:23:44 simply another noise in a crowded space?
00:23:47 All these questions-- look at how much thought goes
00:23:49 into having a successful business.
00:23:52 I hope that answered your question.
00:23:54 OK.
00:23:59 Well, my question is, how do I get what I know out
00:24:03 of my brain on paper?
00:24:05 Because I help people get licensed for home health
00:24:08 agencies in the state of Pennsylvania
00:24:10 and also qualify to be able to build managed care
00:24:14 organizations.
00:24:14 That's some of the things--
00:24:15 I do it all day.
00:24:17 OK.
00:24:17 So your company educates people on how to get licensed.
00:24:22 Do you provide the--
00:24:24 It's a done-for-you service.
00:24:26 That is.
00:24:27 And then I might go into a nonprofit organization
00:24:29 and kind of diagnose what's going on
00:24:32 and help them build out the structure,
00:24:35 determine if positions need to be moved
00:24:37 or if they need to add new positions.
00:24:39 For me, it's just me doing it.
00:24:40 And I'm kind of exhausted.
00:24:42 I've been doing it for about five years now.
00:24:46 And I'm trying to figure out what
00:24:47 to do without losing my intellectual property of how
00:24:51 I do it.
00:24:52 You know what I mean?
00:24:52 It's maybe a trust issue.
00:24:54 Yeah.
00:24:55 Yeah.
00:24:55 OK.
00:24:56 So you ultimately-- so it sounds like you're
00:24:58 doing it all yourself.
00:24:59 I am.
00:25:00 OK.
00:25:00 And you are past your capacity.
00:25:02 And you recognize that you won't be able to scale.
00:25:05 At best, you'll be able to maintain.
00:25:07 But if it's drowning, if it's wearing you out,
00:25:10 then you know that you might think you're maintaining,
00:25:13 but you're going down or losing out on opportunities to scale.
00:25:18 OK.
00:25:19 So you have a structure challenge.
00:25:20 You have a structure.
00:25:21 So you've got the IP, which is great.
00:25:24 It sounds like you've had some degree of success with it.
00:25:27 You know that it works.
00:25:28 My most success during quarantine and stuff,
00:25:32 which is crazy.
00:25:33 OK.
00:25:33 Yeah.
00:25:34 OK.
00:25:34 What's happening-- who are your competitors?
00:25:37 I never did any type of competitive analysis
00:25:40 because, essentially, I have a 100% success rate.
00:25:44 So I can get people--
00:25:47 because my brain thinks in business models.
00:25:50 So I don't really have a problem with getting clients.
00:25:53 I'm just heavily exhausted.
00:25:57 OK.
00:25:57 First of all, this book is for you.
00:25:59 It's called Balance.
00:26:00 I have it.
00:26:01 You have it?
00:26:01 I've listened to it several times.
00:26:02 OK.
00:26:02 Listen again because we're not going
00:26:04 to stay exhausted for too long.
00:26:06 OK.
00:26:06 Hey, who's exhausted?
00:26:07 For real?
00:26:08 OK.
00:26:09 You're the closest.
00:26:10 So-- OK.
00:26:14 And I just want to ask you one follow-up question.
00:26:16 What do you want?
00:26:17 What do you want?
00:26:18 I would love to scale my company in the way
00:26:21 I help other people scale theirs because it is--
00:26:24 I'm not hating, but you help somebody
00:26:26 get to a certain point, but you're not there because--
00:26:31 Well, it's OK.
00:26:31 It's OK to serve.
00:26:32 And I've learned if you serve people, if you lift people,
00:26:36 the people will lift you.
00:26:38 But I think that what I'm hearing is, one, automation.
00:26:42 I think that you need to--
00:26:43 automation.
00:26:44 So how do I multiply me?
00:26:47 You can't really multiply you, but you can multiply your work.
00:26:51 One of the number one--
00:26:52 I don't know your business.
00:26:53 I'd have to really dig into your business,
00:26:54 but I can already hear it sounds like there's
00:26:56 curriculum or whatever.
00:26:57 You need to automate.
00:26:59 You need to find a way to automate your business.
00:27:01 If you automate your business, you're
00:27:02 taking it from you and your local thing,
00:27:06 and you're putting it out there to the masses.
00:27:08 There are 7 billion--
00:27:10 keep doing it.
00:27:10 I'm going to take this jacket off.
00:27:12 Can you do that?
00:27:13 I'm going to take it off.
00:27:14 I wore a blazer because I wanted to look like a professional.
00:27:19 But this blazer is trying to--
00:27:20 so when you-- because in order to scale, you have to automate.
00:27:28 There's just no way about it.
00:27:29 You look at the church.
00:27:30 So right now, on our biggest Sunday, we had 91,000--
00:27:35 this year, a few weeks ago, we had 91,000 people streaming.
00:27:39 So because we automated and we've
00:27:41 been working on technology for a while, I mean, in fact,
00:27:44 this YouTube stuff that we're doing is actually pretty new.
00:27:47 We stream, but going out to YouTube,
00:27:49 watch this, where the people were, scaled our church.
00:27:53 And we have-- with the 10,000 people that were in the room
00:27:56 and the 91,000 people that were watching--
00:27:58 this is a Sunday after Woman Evolved--
00:28:00 we had 100,000 people, but we weren't--
00:28:02 we wouldn't have been able to do that if we didn't automate.
00:28:05 So it's not-- so you do reproduce yourself,
00:28:08 but you reproduce yourself through automation.
00:28:10 So I would almost--
00:28:13 you probably-- I'm trying to give it to you
00:28:15 without you having to go out and get a consultant.
00:28:18 But I would begin to ask the questions,
00:28:20 how can I automate what I am doing?
00:28:23 How can I take my program, tighten it up, and let
00:28:28 it work while I'm asleep?
00:28:30 So maybe I bring the cost down.
00:28:32 Maybe it's $1,000 for you to go through my program.
00:28:35 But listen, but that $1,000 is me.
00:28:37 It's taxing me.
00:28:39 So I lower the price.
00:28:40 Perhaps-- again, I don't know your business model,
00:28:42 so I'm just giving you ideas.
00:28:42 I'm throwing stuff out there.
00:28:43 I lower my price.
00:28:44 I automate it.
00:28:45 Maybe I have it in levels.
00:28:47 So this premium level, maybe you do get a little bit of me
00:28:50 on the premium.
00:28:51 But here, for that person who may not have the money,
00:28:54 I'm going to give it to you at this lower price.
00:28:56 And I've already done the work.
00:28:57 I own the intellectual property.
00:28:59 All I got to do is put it on a platform where you can get it.
00:29:03 Now I'm making money.
00:29:04 And you're watching my video.
00:29:05 You're not getting me.
00:29:07 And I get my life back.
00:29:08 Is that helpful?
00:29:08 Mm-hmm.
00:29:09 It is.
00:29:09 Thank you.
00:29:10 [APPLAUSE]
00:29:10 OK.
00:29:11 Automation is everything.
00:29:15 OK.
00:29:16 And so as you have questions, just go up there.
00:29:19 So ideation is one thing.
00:29:22 Now I've got to qualify it.
00:29:24 And I have to begin to ask questions about it.
00:29:28 I have to ask questions about it.
00:29:29 Now monetization is an interesting one.
00:29:32 Because sometimes, like, how do I get--
00:29:34 anybody ever feel like I've got an idea,
00:29:39 but I ain't got the money?
00:29:42 Is that anybody's real question?
00:29:44 I don't want to answer it if it's not--
00:29:45 like, what do you do when you got the idea?
00:29:49 Come on.
00:29:49 Yeah.
00:29:50 Praise the Lord, everyone.
00:29:51 Praise the Lord.
00:29:52 Praise the Lord.
00:29:53 He is holy.
00:29:54 He is holy.
00:29:55 Thank you.
00:29:56 He is holy.
00:29:56 Amen.
00:29:57 How are you all?
00:29:58 We're good.
00:29:59 Great.
00:30:00 I have so much to say on all levels, honestly.
00:30:06 Because way back when, as you can see,
00:30:10 I'm a little older than most of you here.
00:30:13 And I started a business when my children were very young.
00:30:17 But being a mother, hands on, kind of
00:30:21 prevented me from going forth, exercising, utilizing
00:30:26 all that was needed to--
00:30:30 can you hear me?
00:30:31 You can?
00:30:39 Thank you.
00:30:39 [INAUDIBLE]
00:30:49 OK.
00:30:49 So at this point, I just want to say
00:30:53 that I have invented, copywritten, patent, search,
00:31:01 so on and so forth, in a lifetime.
00:31:03 I've done it all.
00:31:04 I started my church.
00:31:05 I started a little business.
00:31:07 It took off a little bit.
00:31:09 I've written some ministry, as far as having
00:31:13 the church is concerned, 501(c)(3).
00:31:16 Mind you, I have done it all.
00:31:19 But I have not forged in anything.
00:31:23 And working full time as a legal assistant, being diligent,
00:31:29 and wanting to give all that you can to the business,
00:31:35 the company, in this case, was 30 years old,
00:31:38 and the clientele had not changed.
00:31:40 So I ran that office.
00:31:42 And having people crying on your shoulders,
00:31:47 and working with interrogatories, discoveries,
00:31:53 all that a professional law firm consists of, I did it.
00:32:02 And then, getting to this point, because I wasn't
00:32:05 raised in church either, I assure you of that.
00:32:08 Whereas the Lord, when I sought the kingdom first, amen,
00:32:16 after I had gone through much, now therefore being justified
00:32:22 by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord and Savior
00:32:25 Jesus Christ, by whom also we have access
00:32:29 through faith in this grace, wherein we stand and rejoice
00:32:34 in the hope of the glory of God.
00:32:35 But not only so, for we glory in tribulations also.
00:32:39 Amen.
00:32:39 Please, what's the question?
00:32:41 Let me just get to the point here.
00:32:42 But I want to bottom line that, because my life consists
00:32:46 of living a righteous life, because I have seeked first
00:32:51 to you the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
00:32:53 and all things be added unto you.
00:32:55 I've lived that part of my life.
00:32:58 Here, it reads, for wisdom is a defense,
00:33:01 and money is a defense.
00:33:04 But the excellency of knowledge is
00:33:07 that wisdom gives life to them that have it.
00:33:11 OK, so bottom lining all that I'm saying
00:33:15 is that I am so involved in ministry, like some would say,
00:33:23 that I'm no earthly good.
00:33:25 But I've done so much striving towards success in the world,
00:33:30 and I can't get any help.
00:33:33 And I'm going to leave it at that.
00:33:35 How do I get the help I need?
00:33:37 OK, yeah.
00:33:40 Yeah.
00:33:46 Come here, Megan, in my ear.
00:33:50 [INAUDIBLE]
00:33:53 That's great.
00:34:19 That's wonderful.
00:34:20 Essentially, she was saying that you can go to schools,
00:34:23 and they're interns.
00:34:24 So if you don't have the money, but you need help,
00:34:27 there are ways to get help.
00:34:29 I think if your vision is big enough--
00:34:30 and maybe this will go to addressing our sister's
00:34:33 comment--
00:34:35 I think that if your vision--
00:34:36 and this takes it back to the kingdom-- if your vision is
00:34:39 kingdom enough, God has kingdom people
00:34:42 that you may not have to pay.
00:34:44 Maybe you give them a piece of your company,
00:34:46 a small piece of your company.
00:34:47 Or maybe there's other trade-offs.
00:34:50 It's kind of like an internship program.
00:34:52 So that's really good, the training.
00:34:53 That's good.
00:34:54 Hello.
00:34:57 How you doing?
00:34:58 I'm good.
00:34:58 How are you?
00:34:58 I'm good.
00:34:59 Good.
00:35:00 So, Pastor, I've been singing all my life.
00:35:02 You said you've been singing?
00:35:04 All my life.
00:35:04 OK.
00:35:05 All right.
00:35:05 Sometimes with singing, a lot of people
00:35:07 do it, so you don't think it's really something
00:35:11 that you can make a dream out of.
00:35:13 But for me, sometimes I've ended up--
00:35:16 I've been blessed to end up in pretty good places
00:35:19 where grace has put me, and my gift has been able to be seen.
00:35:24 That makes me believe that maybe I have something
00:35:27 that I can monetize out of.
00:35:29 But I'm a single mom with two kids,
00:35:31 and I work two jobs right now.
00:35:33 So how is it that I can still be the best,
00:35:37 that I can be in my church, in my kids' life,
00:35:39 but also invest in myself?
00:35:42 Yeah.
00:35:43 Well, that's a good question.
00:35:45 And I commend you, first of all, for holding your family down,
00:35:50 and yet not letting your family hold you down,
00:35:53 and seeking to--
00:35:55 all that God has for you.
00:35:56 You're young, et cetera.
00:36:00 So how would I answer that?
00:36:01 I think you mentioned singing.
00:36:03 Sounded like you love singing.
00:36:05 Can you teach singing?
00:36:07 I can.
00:36:07 So you've been singing a long time,
00:36:09 so you have a history.
00:36:12 You are proficient in singing, and you
00:36:14 know how to teach singing.
00:36:16 The reason why I say teach first,
00:36:19 without necessarily saying go after your record deal
00:36:21 and all that kind of stuff, is because, one,
00:36:23 that process is certainly viable.
00:36:25 It can happen.
00:36:26 We've got all things that are possible.
00:36:27 It just takes time.
00:36:29 And there's just a lot that goes into it.
00:36:31 So there's some things that are outside of your control
00:36:34 if you pursue artistry, unless you go out,
00:36:37 and you start gigging and everything.
00:36:38 But you've got a family, so you can't be out late at night.
00:36:41 Not all the time.
00:36:43 But teaching, you've got a lot of people
00:36:45 that want to enhance their voice,
00:36:47 and a lot of people who want to grow.
00:36:50 And you can set out.
00:36:51 Typically, you're not teaching somebody at 10 o'clock at night.
00:36:54 Don't take that job, because that's not about teaching.
00:36:56 Trust me.
00:36:59 But you can do that.
00:37:00 You can market.
00:37:01 Here is your evidence.
00:37:01 I've been singing for a long time.
00:37:03 I know how to hit notes, and I know how to teach.
00:37:05 And you can set up a business where
00:37:07 you can offer teaching service, vocal lessons.
00:37:11 My kids did it.
00:37:13 And so I would start thinking about with that gift
00:37:17 and others that you might have.
00:37:19 You're not a one-gift pony.
00:37:21 You know what I mean?
00:37:22 There's a lot to you.
00:37:23 I would think about-- but that's just giving you
00:37:25 something around the singing.
00:37:27 But what do I have?
00:37:29 This is important for everybody.
00:37:31 What's in my hand?
00:37:33 God has given me something that will finance my life.
00:37:40 I possess something right now that will finance
00:37:45 my life and my future.
00:37:47 What is it?
00:37:48 What do I have?
00:37:49 What all do I have?
00:37:50 Sometimes-- and that was a wonderful question--
00:37:53 sometimes the increase that you're looking for
00:37:57 comes with you taking inventory of what you have already.
00:38:02 What do I have?
00:38:03 God, you've given me the ability to create wealth.
00:38:06 What do I have?
00:38:08 And what are all the things that I have?
00:38:11 Like I said, you're not a one-trick pony.
00:38:13 There are many ways.
00:38:14 Some of you-- anybody that will teach you about business
00:38:17 talks about multiple streams.
00:38:19 Well, I bet everybody in here has multiple streams.
00:38:23 There's something that you're good at.
00:38:25 There's something that you have learned.
00:38:27 There's something that you have seen.
00:38:29 And all you have to do is take inventory of self.
00:38:32 Write it down.
00:38:32 Tonight, what do I have?
00:38:36 That's the first step.
00:38:38 What do I have?
00:38:39 And then begin to ask the question, how do I monetize it?
00:38:43 And then do the research.
00:38:44 But that's really, really good.
00:38:45 You left-- I don't know what I was looking for.
00:38:47 You left.
00:38:47 But ask that question, because there's a lot.
00:38:50 And you look up.
00:38:52 Man, you do that list.
00:38:53 What are my money makers?
00:38:55 What do I have?
00:38:56 And you look up, and you will have 10 things.
00:39:00 And maybe not all of them are businesses.
00:39:03 Maybe some of them are.
00:39:05 But what if you get three of those things?
00:39:08 Or five?
00:39:09 Or one that's the right one?
00:39:12 So you have to see yourself as an enterprise,
00:39:18 because there's more to you than you think.
00:39:19 Some of the trouble you've been in,
00:39:21 some of the experiences you've been in, all of that
00:39:24 can be monetized, can be utilized.
00:39:28 Somebody needs what you know.
00:39:32 And you have to be diligent to find that person.
00:39:34 There's a connection.
00:39:36 Even as it relates to ministry.
00:39:38 I have a very unique anointing.
00:39:41 I used to think that it was a problem.
00:39:44 I used to think that it was a deficit,
00:39:46 because I grew up in a Baptist church.
00:39:49 And I don't hoop.
00:39:50 I still don't hoop.
00:39:52 I don't know what a hoop is.
00:39:55 And I used to think that there was something.
00:39:57 And I tried it, too.
00:39:58 I tried to tune up.
00:39:58 That's just not my get down.
00:40:00 And I know hoopers that--
00:40:01 and I love hoopers.
00:40:02 But I ain't a hooper.
00:40:03 And so the reality of it is there
00:40:06 was a people, a sign of my voice, waiting for me
00:40:11 in North Hollywood who would not respond to a hoop.
00:40:14 They would respond to teaching and practicality and business,
00:40:18 Ackerman.
00:40:19 You understand what I'm saying?
00:40:21 So all that to say, just giving an example,
00:40:23 you've got something--
00:40:24 not something-- you've got things in you
00:40:27 that if you would value them-- sometimes things
00:40:30 that you are devaluing are the very things that
00:40:32 have the most value.
00:40:33 And if you will value them and write them down and list them
00:40:37 and start moving, maybe, just maybe one or two
00:40:40 of those things will change your life economically.
00:40:44 You feel me?
00:40:45 [APPLAUSE]
00:40:49 Hey, thank you.
00:40:50 This is amazing.
00:40:52 So my question is really around strategic positioning
00:40:56 and when it comes to execution in the marketplace.
00:41:01 So I have a change management agency.
00:41:03 And we have two verticals.
00:41:06 One is focused on enterprise and organizational change management
00:41:09 through technology, business process, systems, scaling,
00:41:12 all the things.
00:41:14 The second one, which is really my passion,
00:41:17 is more around personal development.
00:41:19 So we have executive leadership coaching,
00:41:22 personal development, disk testing, all the things.
00:41:27 So the challenge is that because of my background
00:41:30 on the enterprise side, I'm being
00:41:33 torn between do I lead and build the enterprise vertical?
00:41:39 My heart is for faith-based leaders because I feel--
00:41:42 you were my avatar.
00:41:44 You said, I am a person that was in tech,
00:41:47 but I didn't have Jesus.
00:41:48 So that's my one person.
00:41:50 And then my other person is, I got Jesus,
00:41:53 but I need to know how to scale and leverage and grow
00:41:56 my organization.
00:41:57 So that being said, I feel like I'm spread a little thin
00:42:01 going after both.
00:42:03 And so my question is, with that in mind,
00:42:07 how would you position yourself in the marketplace?
00:42:09 And how would you execute the vision within the organization?
00:42:12 OK, so you've got two verticals.
00:42:14 One is more enterprise.
00:42:15 I'm going to come in and look at your business
00:42:17 and show you how to scale that up.
00:42:18 The other is personal development
00:42:20 side executive coaching.
00:42:22 And are you moving in both of them now?
00:42:24 And if the answer is yes, which one is sustaining your company?
00:42:29 Well, so you asked who was like an executive in their day job.
00:42:32 So in my day job, I am on the enterprise side.
00:42:36 And so that's what I do.
00:42:37 I've been in consulting for over 20 years.
00:42:40 However, me, I am doing the personal development side
00:42:44 all day long for seven years through Facebook, this, that,
00:42:47 because I have a heart for faith-based leaders.
00:42:50 Are you doing it for free?
00:42:52 Technically.
00:42:53 Now, I have programs and curriculum and all that,
00:42:55 but I just love it.
00:42:56 So I just give it.
00:42:58 You know, that's passion.
00:43:00 That's that's that's passion.
00:43:01 It's money everywhere, you know,
00:43:04 but just trying to make sure that
00:43:07 God just gave me three words for my purpose.
00:43:10 Restore, renew, release, restore people into God,
00:43:14 renew their minds in the word and release them into their destiny.
00:43:17 That is my mandate.
00:43:18 How I do that with what I do for a living
00:43:21 and what I love is what I'm trying to marry in my company.
00:43:25 And I just need to know, do I need to focus on the dollars part
00:43:28 or just make faith based leaders my avatar and they'll get it?
00:43:31 Yeah. So this this this course is called Building a Kingdom Business.
00:43:37 And what's interesting is it sounds like the enterprise side is.
00:43:44 I can do that in my sleep.
00:43:46 OK, you can do in your sleep.
00:43:47 But it's not that's also the bread and butter. Yes, sir.
00:43:49 OK, you can do it in your sleep.
00:43:51 The tell me about your staff that you have.
00:43:53 Is there someone who can run?
00:43:54 I do. I have a VA because like I said, I've been running it part time
00:43:59 because I do have a full time role in consulting.
00:44:01 I used to be in mergers and acquisitions and all the things.
00:44:03 So, yeah, I I'm in a position now where I'm like, OK,
00:44:08 I'm ready to go after this thing.
00:44:09 And so listening to you, I thought after what thing that more
00:44:13 the personal development side?
00:44:15 Well, just choosing making a decision like you need focus.
00:44:18 You need to double down.
00:44:20 And I've been kind of just floating with both.
00:44:23 And so I was just curious in this
00:44:27 marketplace, right, in this world, the trends, things of that nature.
00:44:30 Yeah, there's a million people that do what I do.
00:44:32 But do I or do I just focus on building leaders
00:44:37 and help them with that as they become a leader?
00:44:41 Yeah, I am.
00:44:44 Ultimately, that's going to be something that you and God work out.
00:44:48 But what I'm hearing is that your passion.
00:44:50 Is people and your passion is to to build people,
00:44:55 and there is a viable business in that executive coaching space,
00:44:59 I think on the faith leader side, if it was
00:45:03 and we're back to that scale thing, that automating automate thing,
00:45:06 is sometimes.
00:45:07 Even though you have the desire to to build up faith leaders
00:45:12 and everything, which is noble and is powerful, I completely get it.
00:45:14 Sometimes faith leaders don't necessarily have the type of resources
00:45:18 that you're used to, which is OK if you automate,
00:45:23 because you may not be able to get, you know, if you get that price down
00:45:27 because you've got the intellectual property, I mean, it's it's consulting.
00:45:31 I mean, it is tailored a bit to the individual,
00:45:34 but there are only ten types of individuals.
00:45:36 So if you had I mean, you know, I'm just I'm generalizing.
00:45:38 But so if you had a program that.
00:45:42 Spoke to generalities for the faith leader and you and you brought the price down
00:45:47 to where they can access it and get involved,
00:45:51 you could satisfy your kingdom desire to reach people.
00:45:57 And because it's automated, it will be less taxing on you.
00:45:59 But if you are done, you know, I want to balance that with saying,
00:46:04 am I father and our bishop is here and I'm going to have him speak.
00:46:07 If you are done, if you are if you are done.
00:46:12 Sometimes you have to step out on faith if you are,
00:46:16 if there's a part of you that knows that the season of the enterprise
00:46:21 development is over and God is moving you now
00:46:25 more strategically into purpose and dealing with people.
00:46:29 And that's why I say this is a God thing.
00:46:31 Then you may have to take a step of faith.
00:46:33 I don't know. You can sell that part off.
00:46:35 You can, you know, hire up somebody and not have to sell it
00:46:38 and let them run it and do it.
00:46:39 But you ultimately are going to have to be real and honest
00:46:44 with what you have grace for and make some decisions from there.
00:46:47 But, sir, can I can I invoke you?
00:46:50 Por favor.
00:46:53 I have a don't go away.
00:47:00 I have a question.
00:47:02 It sounds like you're not the job you're working for somebody.
00:47:06 Yes, sir. That's correct.
00:47:08 OK. First of all, most of the time when we work for somebody
00:47:14 in an area like that, we work for them, but we don't brand ourselves.
00:47:21 So you could do it in your sleep, but nobody knows that except your employer.
00:47:27 Because if if your website, your Facebook, your
00:47:32 everything else doesn't reflect that.
00:47:36 Then you're you're working for them
00:47:39 without any hope of ever being able to own your own.
00:47:43 Now, I don't think the question is either or.
00:47:48 I've never been an either or I've been a both and sort of person.
00:47:54 OK. And even though your passion is for developing spiritual leaders.
00:48:01 It's kind of a catch 22.
00:48:05 You have to have the passion to develop them,
00:48:08 but they also have to have the passion to choose you.
00:48:11 OK, so I can't choose you if I don't see you.
00:48:16 OK, so what I suggest to you is this.
00:48:21 First of all, I would start
00:48:23 showing more through social media and every avenue available to me.
00:48:29 What I do. For them.
00:48:34 OK, that's very neither do men light a candle and hide it up under a bush,
00:48:38 but they put it out there for all men to see.
00:48:40 And I'm amazed at the reporters, the tech people who who work
00:48:47 are really, really smart, but they never brand themselves.
00:48:51 So are you on LinkedIn?
00:48:54 So I have a site, it's out, and I do have all of the things there.
00:49:01 I have branded myself, but you hit something, which is I have been hiding
00:49:05 behind a bushel because of capacity
00:49:09 and not really wondering if I can sustain what I can do.
00:49:14 Let me let me show you some real quick.
00:49:17 Get rid of the word capacity and get the word creativity.
00:49:20 Because if you didn't have capacity, you wouldn't be doing it.
00:49:24 You're already doing it, but you're not showing it.
00:49:28 So I don't think you have a capacity problem.
00:49:31 The creativity is when you're doing it, filming it, developing it,
00:49:37 putting it out there for people to see it so that they know
00:49:40 aside from the company who has branded themselves
00:49:44 that you do it and for how much.
00:49:48 OK, so then so if I get snippets, if you're
00:49:54 if you're interested in creating executive coaching, I'm going to deal
00:49:57 with the other part.
00:49:58 If you do interest in deal with the executive coaching,
00:50:01 then I want you to start giving executive coaching on Instagram.
00:50:05 Most snippets of information.
00:50:07 Follow me for more information.
00:50:08 Follow me for more information.
00:50:10 Follow me for more information to you.
00:50:12 Build up a following of people who are following you.
00:50:15 If you see then on your website, I want you to put on the website
00:50:19 for a personal consultation.
00:50:21 My fees are seventy five dollars an hour.
00:50:23 OK, so be upfront about it.
00:50:26 Just clear. That's what it is now for me to give you little snacks.
00:50:31 You know, you can get them for free.
00:50:33 But and I'm going to post them because that's who I am.
00:50:37 That's what my passion is. OK.
00:50:39 I'm trying to get you out from the job into the business.
00:50:44 So if you think either or you're just switching jobs.
00:50:49 People who go into business think both and. OK.
00:50:54 So if if you love to executive coach,
00:50:58 but you don't really like to scale and grow companies as much.
00:51:03 As much, then find somebody to do what you don't like to do
00:51:11 and let them do it up under you.
00:51:13 Find yourself and hire you.
00:51:18 OK, so first now, where I get the money from.
00:51:22 That's why you got to start small.
00:51:24 You will kill the lion, then the bear, then Goliath.
00:51:28 So we're going to build up our revenue streams
00:51:31 by making ourselves available.
00:51:34 You got to stop hiding.
00:51:36 I'm not creating another job for you to do.
00:51:39 I'm just asking you that if a tree fell in the woods
00:51:42 and nobody saw it, did it really happen?
00:51:44 OK, so I want you to put it out there where I can see it.
00:51:49 I want you to put your wisdom out there where I can see it.
00:51:52 And then I'm going to follow you.
00:51:55 You don't have to come follow me.
00:51:57 Chase me. I'm going to chase you.
00:52:00 OK, so because if I value your content,
00:52:05 I'm going to start following you.
00:52:07 The most amazing thing I get all the time, I say this.
00:52:10 Shut up. Is that people get on my site and say, follow me.
00:52:14 I think for what?
00:52:17 Give me a reason to follow you.
00:52:19 What do I what do I get it for?
00:52:22 Yeah, they just want recognition.
00:52:23 Whereas if you just if you put out, if you put out bread,
00:52:28 the birds will come.
00:52:31 So you need to put out the bread that makes people
00:52:35 makes the birds come, OK, and do it
00:52:38 until you start building up a revenue stream.
00:52:40 And then I would challenge you if I was going to work myself out of that job
00:52:44 every time I got a client and they were paying me,
00:52:47 I just pulled it $75 an hour out of my head.
00:52:50 But but if they were to pay me $75 an hour,
00:52:53 I would roll it back into my business.
00:52:56 I would roll it back into my business till I got strong enough
00:53:00 to hire somebody to do the other part.
00:53:03 And then I would do consulting
00:53:05 and into my consulting business grew to the point
00:53:09 that I had replaced my salary.
00:53:11 Does that make sense?
00:53:14 So so we're going to we're going to walk.
00:53:17 We're going to run and then we're going to mount up on wings.
00:53:22 You got it.
00:53:23 Hold on to that, sir.
00:53:29 Hi, my question is, I'm planning to transition
00:53:40 from my corporate job to be a full time entrepreneur.
00:53:44 What advice do you have for my succession plan?
00:53:47 Your succession, your the transition itself.
00:53:50 OK, so what what are tell me more about your new company?
00:53:56 I want to understand where it's at.
00:53:58 Is it already off the ground?
00:54:00 You want to get it off the ground?
00:54:01 Where are you in that whole process?
00:54:03 I've been part like part time a life coach.
00:54:07 OK. And so now I want to transition to be
00:54:12 to do more corporate coaching and training and speaking
00:54:16 and also technical training as well.
00:54:19 So I have a big vision for the company.
00:54:22 Yeah. And so I want to in nine months transition from my corporate job
00:54:27 that I made now to be full time entrepreneur.
00:54:30 OK. Mr. Jakes, almost the same thing.
00:54:33 I thought so. It's almost the exact same thing.
00:54:36 Listen, people.
00:54:40 Stop wanting stuff that you keep a secret.
00:54:43 If if you want something, do let
00:54:49 let me see you doing what you want.
00:54:53 OK, because I can't choose you if I can't see you.
00:54:58 OK, so when you say succession planning, succession planning is normally
00:55:05 who's going to take my job when I leave?
00:55:08 That's your boss's problem.
00:55:11 OK, your problem is to fund your next.
00:55:17 And the way you fund your next is to take your part time activities
00:55:22 and start acquiescing that capital and building it up
00:55:26 until you get further out there to do what you want to do.
00:55:30 The other thing I thought when you were talking was
00:55:33 I'd love to see you in atmospheres
00:55:37 where you're doing what you love to do,
00:55:40 where you are counseling, who you want to counsel,
00:55:43 where you are developing the ideas and the concepts that you want to do
00:55:48 so that I can follow you.
00:55:50 People who like that follow that.
00:55:52 And it's never been a better time than now
00:55:55 because the algorithms are going to drive them right to you.
00:55:58 The people who clicked on your site and stayed the longest.
00:56:02 That's going to approve more algorithms.
00:56:05 It's going to draw more people.
00:56:06 They're going to start sending you into places where people like what you do.
00:56:10 Then you can geo target your audiences.
00:56:13 You can go out to geo targeting those people.
00:56:16 And let's start just doing it on the side until the capital builds up.
00:56:21 And see, the seed goes into the ground.
00:56:25 And it has an outer encasement around it.
00:56:28 It is designed so that as you water it, it will burst the outer encasement.
00:56:36 I want your money to burst your job.
00:56:39 I want your money to soak up so much water, and it may take a while
00:56:45 that it bursts the outer encasement of your job,
00:56:49 because what I'm hearing is I'm restricted on this job and I want to get out.
00:56:53 The final thing I'll say to you is this.
00:56:56 Record everything you do.
00:57:00 Because if you're going to get capital, I'm going to want to see your history.
00:57:06 So I've seen 175 clients.
00:57:09 I have worked with this many levels of businesses,
00:57:13 Fortune 500 companies, Fortune 1000 companies, whatever it is.
00:57:18 You know, I'm very good with startups.
00:57:21 I don't care what it is.
00:57:23 I'm very good with helping people scale who went from one one one employee to five.
00:57:29 Whatever it is you have, I want you to collect it,
00:57:34 because at some point you're going to need OPM, other people's money.
00:57:38 And in order to get other people's money, I can't invest on your passion.
00:57:43 I can't put money to your passion.
00:57:47 I have to put money to your records, to your business plan,
00:57:53 to your strategy, to your methodology.
00:57:56 Well, I'm going to ask you, what have you done?
00:57:58 How much money have you made? How much have you invested?
00:58:01 How much did that cost you?
00:58:03 What were the results of what you said?
00:58:05 So I want you to start collecting metrics.
00:58:07 OK, and then I want you to tout those metrics.
00:58:11 I want you to put those metrics on Instagram, Facebook,
00:58:14 take down them cute pictures in that bathing suit and the baby pictures.
00:58:18 And and I'm getting my hair done.
00:58:20 I'm getting my weave in and I'm buying collard greens at a grocery store.
00:58:24 I don't want that, because if you are not consistent on your site
00:58:29 and you're trying to show me your life and your family and your grandma
00:58:32 and you're trying to draw business, that's not going to work.
00:58:34 You're going to have to decide what you're going to show me.
00:58:37 Let your message be clear.
00:58:39 And then start taking that that seed money and start storing it away.
00:58:44 Because when you start asking me for money, I'm going to ask you,
00:58:47 how much did you put in?
00:58:50 OK, so what we walk away with this.
00:58:53 My experience is valuable, but I got to record it.
00:58:56 Even if I was doing it on my job, I still did it.
00:59:01 OK. Secondly, everything I learned that I thought was smart,
00:59:06 I put it out there like bread so the birds could see it.
00:59:10 Thirdly, I have a definite price that's on my site.
00:59:14 So I don't have to every time you talk to me, get soft hearted and say, well,
00:59:20 whatever, however the Lord leads you, you know, pay me.
00:59:24 I charge $75 an hour if you come to me
00:59:29 and 125 if I come to you, whatever it is, put it out there
00:59:33 and tell it the information is on my website.
00:59:35 Go to my website if you want to go further.
00:59:37 So what I just told you was this.
00:59:39 If if if what you were doing were a movie.
00:59:43 Then your Instagram, Facebook and Twitter is the commercial.
00:59:50 So I want you to show me just enough in the commercial
00:59:57 to drive me to the website.
00:59:59 Then when you drive me to the website, I want you to watch the percentages grow.
01:00:04 OK, and then everybody who's doing anything like that,
01:00:10 all the events in the city, anywhere where you get a chance
01:00:14 and you have any free time because I don't think you have much.
01:00:17 You want to be in the room with it.
01:00:20 You want to be where they're talking about it.
01:00:23 I don't care if you're just introducing somebody.
01:00:25 You want to be in the room where they where they do that.
01:00:27 And then when I check your LinkedIn, your Facebook, your Twitter,
01:00:32 your Instagram should all be saying the same thing.
01:00:35 You can't be saying one thing on LinkedIn and on the other end.
01:00:40 I'm seeing your vacation in New Orleans.
01:00:42 And then over here, I'm seeing something else.
01:00:44 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
01:00:47 Get it down. We're all saying one thing until you are known for something.
01:00:51 We do chicken, right?
01:00:54 Don't come here for steaks.
01:00:57 Seven up, we're to uncold.
01:00:58 If you want to call it, don't come over here.
01:01:00 You see a clear brand.
01:01:03 What do I get when I get you and how much does it cost?
01:01:06 And what results have you gotten?
01:01:08 Other people that would make me invest in you and then deliver.
01:01:12 Is that helpful? OK.
01:01:15 Thank you, sir.
01:01:17 And the only thing I would add to that is
01:01:23 as you start talking about your transition plan,
01:01:26 set your own markers based on all that you heard.
01:01:29 Where do I need to be financially in order to do that?
01:01:33 So let your progress determine your process of transition.
01:01:38 Good. That's good.
01:01:40 I'm a I'm starting new and
01:01:43 the thing with me is funds.
01:01:47 So I want to get into grants and investors and stuff like that.
01:01:51 And I don't know where to reach out to.
01:01:53 So if you can help us out with let us know the people that are willing to help us
01:01:58 get our like ideas out there
01:02:01 and our product and stuff like that, that would be really helpful.
01:02:05 OK, I couldn't hear you.
01:02:07 They probably could hear you really well.
01:02:08 But what I saw you said was you have an idea,
01:02:11 but you need capital to get your idea off the ground.
01:02:14 OK, what's what's your idea?
01:02:17 I have a I'm working on a clothing line.
01:02:19 I have two different clothing lines.
01:02:20 I have one that's going to be like for people that is like they can afford.
01:02:25 It's affordable for other people and then also like a designer brand.
01:02:29 So I have cool. I am a god.
01:02:31 I am or cam. I am.
01:02:32 And it goes from God and the scripture, you know.
01:02:36 God is who I am.
01:02:38 So cam, I am. My name is Cam.
01:02:41 OK, basically, I want to be able to,
01:02:45 you know, get my message out and give God's message.
01:02:49 I'm you know, so basically I just need funds
01:02:52 or investments or grants or I just need to know where to go.
01:02:57 I understood. OK, I appreciate that.
01:02:59 How much money you need?
01:03:01 Honestly, I don't know.
01:03:03 That's you know, we we don't. That's OK.
01:03:06 Honestly, you know, I have people that are wanting stuff,
01:03:09 but I just can't afford the stuff that they need.
01:03:11 So, you know, it's like I have people that are wanting orders, but I can't.
01:03:16 No, I understand.
01:03:17 So so when I asked you that question.
01:03:20 You should have told me right away.
01:03:23 Twenty five thousand dollars.
01:03:25 So that means that again, when we talked about ideation
01:03:28 and really thinking in qualification, there are some questions
01:03:32 that you need to answer.
01:03:34 So that you know what you want, so that you know what you need.
01:03:36 I mean, it's a business plan.
01:03:38 It doesn't have to be super comprehensive, but you need to.
01:03:42 If you don't know what you want, how can you ever get it?
01:03:45 And so so it's just research, you know, studying some models.
01:03:48 I love the idea that it's that, you know, the spiritual principle behind it,
01:03:52 the kingdom nature of it, you know, all of that is there.
01:03:55 But the the understanding the marketplace,
01:03:59 understanding how much you you need.
01:04:01 I couldn't I literally could have written you a check,
01:04:04 but you don't know the amount.
01:04:06 And so, you know, it's like sugar free, you know, if you stay ready.
01:04:09 Yeah. Yeah.
01:04:14 No, I get it.
01:04:15 So I think so I would.
01:04:16 So what I would do is the scriptures about writing the vision and making it plain.
01:04:21 It costs nothing to have a vision.
01:04:24 And so write it down what you want to do, how many you want to do.
01:04:29 What is it? Get all that together, then research the costs
01:04:32 and and work through a business plan.
01:04:34 It sounds like a lot, but there are a lot of, you know,
01:04:36 you can literally go online right now.
01:04:38 They have business plan templates that will help you.
01:04:40 There's a lot of free information out there.
01:04:43 Good soil.
01:04:45 That app has information in it.
01:04:48 But you've got it. You've got the idea.
01:04:51 All you got to do is get the structure.
01:04:52 You got the idea and the passion.
01:04:53 You just need to to think it through and know what you need
01:04:58 because you can't get it unless you do.
01:05:00 But I'm with you.
01:05:01 And I think let me add something to just a little bit.
01:05:03 So she got me started. I'm out of here now. Yeah.
01:05:06 You got the hard part done.
01:05:12 Yeah. You got the customer.
01:05:14 And you're sending the customer away because you don't have the capital.
01:05:18 That's a dream.
01:05:22 The fact that people want you to do it.
01:05:24 And your problem is that you can't afford you can't afford not to do it
01:05:29 because that's the money you leave it on the table.
01:05:33 You say, I need money.
01:05:34 You just send it out the door.
01:05:37 OK, so so so you say, well,
01:05:40 I got to have some money to buy the supplies, to do the groundwork,
01:05:44 to do the designs or whatever.
01:05:47 All right. So you need startup capital a little bit.
01:05:50 Not much, because if you've got customers that you keep sending away,
01:05:54 that's a sure sign that you've got something to offer. OK.
01:05:59 Now, getting capital behind it.
01:06:02 It doesn't take a lot of capital if he gives you.
01:06:06 If we get together and give you ten thousand dollars,
01:06:10 you should turn it into twenty five.
01:06:12 OK, and you're not in your head like you could do that.
01:06:16 You ready? You ready? OK,
01:06:20 then then that's easy.
01:06:22 That's easy.
01:06:23 You you got a customer base.
01:06:25 You did the hard part first.
01:06:27 OK, the next part is capital.
01:06:29 There's SBA loans.
01:06:30 There's all kinds of capital that you can get if you got decent credit
01:06:34 or anything like that you put up.
01:06:36 If you don't have any of that.
01:06:38 The minority banks, minority bank,
01:06:42 banking institutions are not as strict.
01:06:44 OK, and the CDF is, which is community development.
01:06:49 Financial institutions are not quite as strict.
01:06:53 OK, and getting you started, getting you up to par.
01:06:56 But you know what?
01:06:57 I think you need more than anything else. Courage.
01:07:00 When you came up here to pitch,
01:07:05 you we couldn't hear you.
01:07:08 I want you to walk over there.
01:07:10 Hello, my name is what's your name?
01:07:12 Kim. Hello, my name is Kim.
01:07:14 I'm excited to be here tonight.
01:07:16 I've got some great ideas and I've got a business
01:07:18 that people are asking for that I want to supply.
01:07:21 I am a designer and I have creative content.
01:07:24 You can go to my site and pick up my site.
01:07:26 I want you to make me want to help you.
01:07:31 OK, I want you to make me.
01:07:34 So this is what I want you to do.
01:07:37 You got talent or they wouldn't be calling you. OK.
01:07:40 And you got passion and you want it.
01:07:43 And I can tell your pitch is weak.
01:07:46 So when you go home, get one of those stand up mirrors.
01:07:52 OK, one of those stand up mirrors and get in front of it and practice.
01:07:56 I don't care if they think you crazy.
01:07:58 I practice preaching.
01:08:00 I was preaching down in the basement.
01:08:02 And when my mama come down the steps, I'd act like I was doing something else
01:08:06 because I look stupid.
01:08:07 I was all in the shower preaching to the soap dish and everything.
01:08:11 So practice it until it's comfortable, until it flows,
01:08:15 till it's free, till you can walk up and you can clearly say,
01:08:19 and I know it's uncomfortable to stand up in front of all these people
01:08:22 and you're not used to doing it.
01:08:24 But I want it to become comfortable because everything you need is in this room.
01:08:29 You don't have to go to Wells Fargo.
01:08:36 You don't have to go to Bank of America.
01:08:37 You don't have to go to anywhere else.
01:08:39 Everything you need is in this room, but you got to talk better to get it.
01:08:43 Everything that everybody got, they talked their way into it.
01:08:47 Open your mouth.
01:08:49 Look them straight in the eye.
01:08:51 Hold your back straight.
01:08:53 Get your spine straight and say, let me tell you about this product.
01:08:56 I am so excited.
01:08:57 I've got more customers than I can feel.
01:08:59 I get called on all the time.
01:09:01 I'm you know, like that.
01:09:04 OK, OK, because people with money will only pay attention for a few minutes.
01:09:09 And if you don't catch them in the first five minutes,
01:09:13 it turns into why, why, why, why, why, why?
01:09:17 And you're not going to get the capital.
01:09:19 And all you got to sell is your courage.
01:09:22 OK, so I want you to practice your pitch.
01:09:26 I want you to practice your pitch.
01:09:29 I want you to practice your pitch until when you get the mic next time
01:09:33 and you start talking about what you got.
01:09:35 I want everybody in here who's got money in their pocket.
01:09:37 I want their money to leave.
01:09:40 OK, oh, let me see that.
01:09:43 Go to my site.
01:09:44 If you want to see more of my information, go to my site again.
01:09:46 I need a place.
01:09:48 Send me somewhere.
01:09:49 Give me a call to action.
01:09:51 Let me go look at what you're doing and let me get out there.
01:09:54 I don't care if it's one t shirt.
01:09:57 And it's a bad teacher.
01:09:59 OK, there. OK.
01:10:02 Put it put it out there.
01:10:03 And the final thing I'll say to you is this.
01:10:05 Find your customer.
01:10:08 Find your customer.
01:10:10 Everybody will not be your customer.
01:10:13 So you want less limited to an age group.
01:10:16 So that since we don't have many dollars, we can't shoot money everywhere.
01:10:21 We got to shoot it at the consumer that's most likely to buy our content
01:10:26 and then put it out there in such a way and then think global.
01:10:30 Maybe they're about in the Caribbean.
01:10:33 Maybe they're about it.
01:10:34 They should be see use where they put up booths and sell on the weekend.
01:10:38 Maybe you can do it there.
01:10:40 Maybe you can do it at the state fair.
01:10:43 Maybe you could do it at a pop up shop in the mall.
01:10:46 You don't you don't have to necessarily have a location.
01:10:49 Let's start somewhere.
01:10:51 And you need some little bit of capital to get started.
01:10:54 I get that. But see, you're scared of money.
01:10:58 And as long as you're scared of money, you'll never have it.
01:11:00 You're scared of money.
01:11:02 You think money is so out of your reach that that it seems like the Mount Everest.
01:11:07 And as long as you see money as that big of a thing,
01:11:13 you'll never be able to get it.
01:11:15 You have to bring it down here.
01:11:16 It's just money. It's just paper.
01:11:19 So when he asked you how much you need, I come up with a number.
01:11:25 Well, if I were to come up with a number.
01:11:27 I, I would have said
01:11:33 if 10 people in this room gave me a thousand dollars,
01:11:36 I could turn it into one hundred thousand dollars in two weeks.
01:11:39 You know what I mean?
01:11:40 If one person wanted to give ten thousand dollars,
01:11:42 I'll give you 20 percent of the profit margin.
01:11:45 I'll give you a return.
01:11:46 You got to talk up.
01:11:49 You close mouths don't get fed, boo.
01:11:52 You write up under your mustache is your bank account.
01:11:56 OK, so the next time you walk up
01:12:00 and you start talking about what you want,
01:12:03 remember that you are in the business of sales, not manufacturing.
01:12:08 You got to make me want to buy your dream.
01:12:13 And in order to do that, you got to stop thinking that money is way out there.
01:12:17 And I'm going to tell you what, why you think it's way out there.
01:12:21 Most people who think money is way out there never had enough.
01:12:26 To bring it close enough to be.
01:12:31 That it's possible to have it.
01:12:35 And I understand that because I have been there.
01:12:37 OK, but it's just money.
01:12:39 You know.
01:12:42 As money moving right now.
01:12:47 Money is moving.
01:12:48 No, I'm not getting
01:12:51 money is moving right now.
01:12:53 It's moving right now and it will move toward you.
01:12:57 But you got to believe it.
01:13:01 Why are you crying?
01:13:02 You believe it?
01:13:05 Did this is what I want you to do.
01:13:08 I want you to work on your game where you can where you can
01:13:14 can describe your product in the best language you can
01:13:20 with confidence and with boldness and have illustrations
01:13:24 that you can send me to.
01:13:26 The things that you can do.
01:13:29 The things that you can do.
01:13:31 I want you to do that.
01:13:33 And I don't want you.
01:13:35 To ache for something you can have.
01:13:39 You're a young man.
01:13:41 You could die rich.
01:13:44 [Applause]
01:13:59 Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
01:14:02 Where are you at?
01:14:04 Hold on, hold on, hold on.
01:14:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:14:07 Where you go?
01:14:08 Mm hmm.
01:14:09 Yeah.
01:14:10 Come here.
01:14:15 Come here.
01:14:16 Come here.
01:14:18 This is what church is for.
01:14:20 This is what church is for.
01:14:22 This is what church is for.
01:14:23 Come here.
01:14:24 Yeah.
01:14:25 [Applause]
01:14:31 Yeah.
01:14:32 [Applause]
01:14:46 You know what I'm going to do?
01:14:47 What?
01:14:48 I'm going to cash out for you $500.
01:14:50 [Applause]
01:14:54 I'm going to cash out for you $500.
01:14:59 [Applause]
01:15:02 I have a shirt for you by the end of the week.
01:15:03 Huh?
01:15:04 I have a shirt for you by the end of the week.
01:15:05 I don't want the shirt.
01:15:06 I want you to make money off of my money.
01:15:08 Yeah, yeah.
01:15:09 I want you to make money.
01:15:10 I don't want it back.
01:15:11 Yeah.
01:15:12 I just want you to make money off my money.
01:15:14 I want you to turn my $500 into $1,000.
01:15:17 [Applause]
01:15:19 Can you do that?
01:15:20 [Applause]
01:15:41 Hallelujah.
01:15:42 [Applause]
01:15:52 Come here.
01:15:53 It ain't much.
01:15:55 It's just $500.
01:15:57 All I want you to do is find a way to double it.
01:16:01 All I want you to do is find a way to double it.
01:16:03 I don't want a part of it.
01:16:04 I don't want 10% back.
01:16:06 I don't want the product.
01:16:08 I just want you to take my $500 and turn it into $1,000.
01:16:12 If you come back and you show me that you made --
01:16:17 that you turned that $500 into $1,000, we're going to go further.
01:16:21 [Applause]
01:16:23 You with me?
01:16:24 You with me?
01:16:25 Yeah.
01:16:26 Give me some more.
01:16:27 [Applause]
01:16:38 I want you to stop crying over what you can have.
01:16:41 I want you to stop craving what you can reach.
01:16:44 I want you to stop longing for what you can have.
01:16:47 It is possible.
01:16:49 It is possible.
01:16:51 It is possible.
01:16:53 And I want you to work on that pitch.
01:16:55 Okay?
01:16:56 You with me?
01:16:57 You ready?
01:16:58 You ready for real?
01:16:59 I tell you what now, don't play with me.
01:17:02 [Applause]
01:17:03 Because if you take that money and you turn that money into $1,000,
01:17:08 I don't even want the $1,000 back.
01:17:10 I don't want the $500 back.
01:17:12 I want to see you turn it into something.
01:17:14 Okay?
01:17:16 And then we're going to talk about something else.
01:17:18 You going to have the shirt in front of me too?
01:17:20 All right.
01:17:21 Double X.
01:17:23 It's all right.
01:17:24 Double X.
01:17:25 I ain't shame.
01:17:26 I'm a big boy.
01:17:27 Incredible.
01:17:28 We do have one more.
01:17:30 She wants to offer a service.
01:17:32 Last question.
01:17:33 Okay.
01:17:34 Thank you, sir.
01:17:39 I just was so moved by you.
01:17:44 I'm a communication professor.
01:17:46 I taught communication for 20 years at different universities,
01:17:50 and now I'm a consultant, and I do training for organizations
01:17:53 and individuals in executive coaching,
01:17:55 and I want to work with you on your communication pitch for your training
01:17:59 so that the next time that this opportunity comes, you will be ready.
01:18:05 [Applause]
01:18:11 Yeah, I think so.
01:18:12 By the way, they want to know how they can follow you on Instagram.
01:18:16 So get to biting.
01:18:18 It's Cam I.M.
01:18:20 And the number five IVE.
01:18:23 So it's Cam I.M., the number five IVE.
01:18:26 Cam C-A-M I-V-E.
01:18:30 The number five IVE.
01:18:32 The number five IVE.
01:18:35 And it's Cameron Green on Facebook.
01:18:38 But I appreciate y'all.
01:18:40 And what I want all of y'all to know is, like, if God says speak, speak.
01:18:46 [Applause]
01:18:48 Yeah, like, you have to put yourself to the side
01:18:52 and understand that it's not about you,
01:18:55 because if I didn't speak, I wouldn't have got what I wanted.
01:18:59 [Applause]
01:19:01 I touched all of y'all because of something that I wanted to do.
01:19:06 So thank y'all, and I love all of y'all.
01:19:09 Thank you for your support.
01:19:11 God loves all of y'all.
01:19:13 Thank you again.
01:19:14 Bishop, thank you.
01:19:15 Pastor, thank y'all for giving us this opportunity to speak to y'all
01:19:21 and ask these questions and be able to express us to y'all
01:19:25 and let God speak to y'all, because we're touching y'all too.
01:19:29 I know this is touching y'all.
01:19:31 So thank y'all.
01:19:33 Thank y'all.
01:19:34 I appreciate everything.
01:19:36 Thank y'all again.
01:19:37 [Applause]
01:19:40 Let me tell you something.
01:19:43 In my world, this is not a big room.
01:19:47 But everything you need is in this room.
01:19:52 Everything you need.
01:19:53 You see how she came up there and said, "I'll do what you need.
01:19:56 I'll help develop your speech.
01:19:58 I'll get you together."
01:20:00 Everything you need is in this room right now.
01:20:04 We are the people we've been waiting on.
01:20:07 Don't get me started on it.
01:20:09 It is in this room right now.
01:20:11 I could take the people in this room.
01:20:13 If we all got together, we could buy the mall.
01:20:18 Okay.
01:20:19 We could do affordable housing.
01:20:22 If we get together in this room, there's enough power in this room.
01:20:28 Contacts, relationships, and that's another word, relationships.
01:20:34 Relationships.
01:20:35 Get you some relationships with somebody that ain't broke.
01:20:39 I'm talking to you, Cam.
01:20:41 Get you some relationships with somebody that ain't broke.
01:20:43 Yeah, I know, me.
01:20:44 [Laughter]
01:20:50 Lord, I got me another child, Jesus.
01:20:53 Okay.
01:20:54 Okay.
01:20:56 There's a lot of people in this room that ain't broke.
01:20:58 Broke is not just money.
01:21:00 Broke is smart.
01:21:01 Broke is talent.
01:21:03 Not being broke means they got talent.
01:21:05 Not being broke means they got contacts.
01:21:08 All these people talking about who they working for, they going to need some stuff.
01:21:12 They going to need something to send to their employees for the holidays.
01:21:16 They going to need gift baskets going out to their employees, their customers, their consumers.
01:21:21 Everything you need, pajamas, everything you need is in this room right now.
01:21:26 It is in this room right now.
01:21:29 It is not just make the shirt.
01:21:33 The shirt is the easy part.
01:21:35 You got to turn the shirt into a solution for my problem.
01:21:40 So if you package the shirts in such a way that I can give the shirts to my staff or I can give the shirts to my friends
01:21:49 or we can all -- all the young boys, the boys for men, the boys to men that they're raising up,
01:21:55 and you're going to make the shirts for them, you want a contract doing that.
01:21:59 Make the shirt -- every business that succeeds is an answer to a problem.
01:22:06 Find your problem and you find your business.
01:22:09 Don't just look at it as a shirt.
01:22:12 It's not a shirt.
01:22:13 It's a solution.
01:22:14 Whose problem do these shirts solve?
01:22:18 Do you need logos?
01:22:20 Do you need business T-shirts?
01:22:24 Do you need something for the church picnic?
01:22:26 Do you need something -- make your business an answer to somebody's problem.
01:22:31 Find the person with the problem and you found your customer, and they will buy you out.
01:22:38 And I want you to get good material, good stuff.
01:22:41 You got to start small.
01:22:43 But as you develop, I want you to grow up into the better the product, the better the product,
01:22:49 the more likely you are to be successful at it.
01:22:53 And everybody who likes your product, get your phone out and tell them what you like about it,
01:23:00 because I want you to get that content of them saying, "Oh, man, I love this shirt.
01:23:04 I wore this shirt.
01:23:05 I got so many compliments on this shirt."
01:23:06 Thank you very much.
01:23:07 "Oh, I wore that shirt.
01:23:09 Thank you very much."
01:23:10 I want you to start making your little sizzle reel and put all your customers on there talking about your stuff
01:23:16 and just be standing at the end of it like this.
01:23:20 So look for us taking a picture with our photo in his shirt.
01:23:24 Yeah, yeah.
01:23:25 That's why you want me to get the shirt so I can wear the shirt.
01:23:28 Get out of here.
01:23:29 You don't need to be teaching.
01:23:31 I'm going to have you teach in the next class.
01:23:34 You speak it up.
01:23:38 I want you to speak up.
01:23:41 A few things.
01:23:43 It is no secret that our bishop has an anointing and a grace for business.
01:23:52 And I just want to give some closing announcements.
01:23:55 And if you can pray for us, some things are taught.
01:24:02 Most things are caught.
01:24:05 And I believe there's something for us to catch as we wrap up these four weeks.
01:24:09 Hadn't it been a blessing?
01:24:11 Just--
01:24:12 It's been good.
01:24:13 Yeah.
01:24:14 So really quickly, just housekeeping, we want to serve you better.
01:24:19 We're going to make this better and better and better.
01:24:21 And so there's a brief survey.
01:24:23 It's on the screen.
01:24:24 Please complete that survey.
01:24:26 Be honest.
01:24:27 Let us know what we can do better, what you want to see.
01:24:30 Answer those questions there.
01:24:32 If you haven't sewn, you got here too late and you haven't sewn,
01:24:36 or you might feel compelled to sew into this impartation that you're getting ready to receive.
01:24:41 I know that there is a--I see--I know there's a young lady here who told me before time that she wanted to sew something into you.
01:24:50 And so that can--all that's going to be in this moment.
01:24:54 But don't forget to sew.
01:24:56 And thank you.
01:24:58 Thank you, bishop.
01:24:59 You just add a dimension to our class that--
01:25:06 We don't sell tapes anymore because--it's on YouTube.
01:25:13 All you got to do is go on YouTube.
01:25:15 Yeah, you can pull it down.
01:25:16 We don't sell it anymore, but it's free.
01:25:20 I want to tell you the truth.
01:25:23 I had this idea in my head.
01:25:25 I wanted to do it for a long time, but I'm spread too thin.
01:25:30 And Pastor Torre said, "Give it to me."
01:25:38 So instead of clapping for me, I want to clap for him.
01:25:44 Yeah.
01:25:49 He pulled it off.
01:25:51 I didn't have to worry about it.
01:25:52 I didn't say nothing.
01:25:53 I just went around being nosy.
01:25:55 I went in every class, but he pulled it off and put it together.
01:25:58 How many of you all want to see this happen again?
01:26:01 [applause]
01:26:04 Okay.
01:26:06 Shameless plug before we pray.
01:26:10 And you're going to ask me for a date, and I'm not going to have it.
01:26:12 But it's about a week from now.
01:26:14 If you download our app, Good Soil Movement, it's in there.
01:26:20 I'm going to do something in about a week called A Seat at the Table.
01:26:25 Do not miss it.
01:26:28 It's free.
01:26:30 You download the app, it's free.
01:26:32 November the 3rd, and it's A Seat at the Table.
01:26:36 I'm going to be in my conference room with some of the smartest,
01:26:41 brightest people answering questions with connections who can answer
01:26:47 questions I can't answer.
01:26:49 Okay.
01:26:50 And we won't get all of them, but you'll get what it's like to be --
01:26:56 to have a seat at the table, okay, because it's now that we need to help
01:27:03 each other out.
01:27:05 You see what I'm saying?
01:27:07 Now, before I pray for you, the reason I can talk to that young man like
01:27:11 that, my father started a business with a mop and a bucket.
01:27:16 He didn't even have a truck.
01:27:19 He had a mop and a bucket.
01:27:21 I can see him right now.
01:27:22 Mama sold a patch over the seat of his pants, and he rolled that bucket
01:27:27 out of there.
01:27:29 And next thing you know, yeah, yeah, hit them corners.
01:27:31 You remember me telling you about that?
01:27:33 Let me tell you something.
01:27:34 Next thing I knew, he had a beat-up truck.
01:27:36 It was a black truck with a red fender, so you know he had to put it together.
01:27:42 But he rolled that truck until he got a new truck.
01:27:46 Then he got ten trucks.
01:27:49 Then he grew contracts.
01:27:51 I grew up in this, okay.
01:27:54 I grew up in this.
01:27:55 Him and my mama arguing over whether they was going to file jointly or not.
01:27:59 I'm sitting up in the hot car.
01:28:02 I didn't care.
01:28:03 I just wanted some Dairy Queen.
01:28:05 I don't care.
01:28:08 But everybody didn't grow up in a room where they were talking about money
01:28:12 and business and success and taxes and stuff like that.
01:28:15 That's why it's not always money that you need.
01:28:18 It's mentality.
01:28:19 It's capacity.
01:28:20 It's creativity.
01:28:22 And I want you to stop being scared.
01:28:26 Stop being scared.
01:28:28 Stop being scared.
01:28:30 Stop being scared that you're not enough, that you can't do this.
01:28:35 If you talk to yourself with that language, that's self-defeating language.
01:28:40 I can pray all night, but if you talk yourself out of it all the way home,
01:28:45 I can say that when.
01:28:48 Just because you don't have the money right now don't mean it's not coming.
01:28:53 It's going to come.
01:28:54 And so what I want you to do, be faith.
01:28:57 $500 ain't no money, okay.
01:29:00 It's a principle I want him to get.
01:29:05 When the Bible says if you're faithful over a few things, I'll make you rule over many.
01:29:09 It's a principle.
01:29:11 It's a principle.
01:29:13 That's all -- when Jesus cast the servant out into outer darkness, told the parable,
01:29:18 cast out an unfaithful servant, it's a principle he wanted him to get.
01:29:23 It didn't matter whether you had five talents or two talents.
01:29:26 He only ended up making it 100-fold.
01:29:30 Jesus did in the parable what I just did, said take it and double it.
01:29:36 For one man, success was four.
01:29:39 For another man, success was ten because you're not in competition with nobody.
01:29:44 You're only in competition with the level of the gift that you have.
01:29:48 Do you hear what I'm saying to you?
01:29:50 Okay.
01:29:51 So I want you to get your head right.
01:29:54 I want you to start recording your information.
01:29:57 We don't record nothing.
01:29:59 We do cash transactions.
01:30:03 So when everything went black and you needed to get PPP money, you couldn't get PPP because you ain't paid taxes since Vietnam.
01:30:12 Okay.
01:30:13 Come on.
01:30:14 Come on.
01:30:15 Now, I'm not talking about all of us but some of us.
01:30:17 We're going to have to level up so we can come up.
01:30:21 Because the bank and nobody else can help you.
01:30:23 Investors, nobody can help you.
01:30:25 You ain't got books.
01:30:26 You don't have records.
01:30:28 You don't have no history.
01:30:30 You haven't updated your LinkedIn since Vietnam.
01:30:33 You know, it's got old information, your baby picture on there.
01:30:37 It's time to upgrade.
01:30:39 Make sure it's up there and it's right and it's good and check it and turn your alerts on and talk back to people and see what's going on.
01:30:48 It's a mentality.
01:30:51 It's a mentality.
01:30:54 Poverty is a mentality.
01:30:57 It's a mentality.
01:30:58 It's not a certain amount of money.
01:30:59 I can give you a million dollars and if you don't have a mentality, you'll lose it in six months.
01:31:06 You understand what I'm saying?
01:31:08 On the other hand, I can give you $100, you'll turn it into a million if you got the right mentality.
01:31:13 You'll turn it into something.
01:31:15 But being in rooms like this, let me tell you something I know before I pray.
01:31:20 Somebody's baby is leaping.
01:31:23 Somebody's dream is coming alive.
01:31:27 Somebody's -- I can feel you pulling.
01:31:29 I can feel you pulling.
01:31:30 That's why I can't be in this room.
01:31:32 I got to get out of here because I can feel you pulling.
01:31:35 And that's why I'm doing what I'm doing because I believe that you can do it.
01:31:40 I believe it.
01:31:41 I saw my father do it.
01:31:43 I saw his mother do it.
01:31:45 I saw her wash clothes, send herself back to college, graduated from Mississippi, Southern Mississippi University,
01:31:53 and taught school until she died.
01:31:55 I watched her do it.
01:31:56 I saw my great-great-grandfather mine timber on 180 acres of land and mine timber on land that he owned after he was dead.
01:32:06 And his mama was a slave.
01:32:11 That's mentality.
