Journalists caught up in deadly Gaza conflict

Three weeks after the Israel-Hamas conflict began, more than 1,400 people were killed in a surprise Hamas attack in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, with 220 hostages taken. Israeli forces have since conducted airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, resulting in over 6,500 casualties, including more than 22 journalists, according to the Palestinian journalists' union. Many, including hundreds of journalists, have been forced to leave Gaza City and work in dire conditions due to the conflict.
