00:00 John Krasinski is the longest running actor to play Jack Ryan.
00:03 And besides that personal record, I was wondering what both of you will think his character
00:08 will be most remembered for or his portrayal specifically.
00:11 And Michael, start with you.
00:13 I think he will be remembered as the guy who did it the best.
00:17 I think maybe I'm biased.
00:20 You know, I love what those other guys did.
00:23 I think they were great.
00:24 But I think given, you know, John had a slight advantage in that we were able to do his story
00:29 in long format.
00:30 All the other guys had to do it in an hour and a half.
00:34 We were able to tell the story over four seasons of eight episodes a season or six a season,
00:39 whatever it is.
00:41 But to me, John, I felt brought not just the humanity of Jack Ryan and the intelligence
00:49 and he's an incredibly gifted action star as well.
00:55 But the humor, right?
00:56 Like he brings that little extra thing that I think that he does so well, the ability
01:02 to blend all three of those things, an action star, a funny and very connected to humanity
01:11 and the righteous way.
01:14 I think that he was able to blend those three perfectly.
01:17 And that's my that's my opinion is he is.
01:21 And sure, I might be biased, but I think he's the best one.
01:24 And John had the vision for the show.
01:25 Yeah, I mean, he's a producer on the show and he was able to pull together all the departments
01:32 and pull together all the actors and directors and the scripts.
01:36 And really, everyone shared the vision of of Jack Ryan and be able to do that in the
01:42 long form so you can take advantage of it so you don't have to sell any elements short,
01:48 really develop it in a way like a visual novel, knowing that the audience is going to stick
01:52 with you.
01:54 And he'll be remembered for that, pulling together the vision.
01:57 Oh, I think he'll be best remembered for his height.
02:02 No, I'm kidding.
02:06 He's you know, you can see them from across the country.
02:12 I think he's just got this way of bringing levity to quite severe, serious situations.
02:22 I think the the newer generations have had the luxury of content and news and being and
02:31 that sort of being filtered through a humorous lens, if that makes sense.
02:37 You know, the Jon Stewart shows and the and I'm trying to think of who else Trevor Noah
02:42 and you know, you have a lot of comedic news shows and you have a lot of information coming
02:47 at you that I think he's he's he's able to like operate on that wavelength that's quite
02:54 lightening quick and slightly funny.
02:56 Yeah, I mean, what like what a great character for him to play and embody.
03:02 And, you know, he's even later on in the seasons, you know, Jon was so integrated in terms of
03:09 the story and writing and co-creating, producing all of this kind of stuff.
03:14 So it really is an empire and I think he's a great Jack Ryan.
03:19 I think his cerebral nature, you know, he's a smart dude.
03:22 I first met Jon 20 years ago at Brown University, you know, and he's he's a smart guy, witty,
03:30 super sharp, as we all know, hard worker and a hard worker.
03:33 And I think that that's I think that's what people take from it.
03:37 There's always a little bit of a little sense of humor, even in the most dire situations.
03:43 And that's great.
03:44 It's super charming.
03:45 Well, I think it's the I mean, it's the fact of like, I don't know, maybe it has a little
03:50 bit something to do with his history, like he was on The Office, you know what I mean?
03:54 He was that guy.
03:55 And then he transitioned into the Jack Ryan of it all.
03:58 And it's still like, you know, maybe it's the perception of who he is and also who he
04:03 is as a person that I think he just fits this character perfectly.
04:07 Like when you when you see the first the first season and you see him in the in the boardroom
04:13 and he's coming up with these ideas like it's like you buy it, you know what I mean?
04:17 Like he's I buy that he's the smartest guy in the room.
04:19 Yeah.
04:20 Yeah.
04:21 That he's thinking outside the box and that he's getting, you know, different.
04:26 Everyone's looking at the same image, but he's getting something different out of it.
04:29 Like I love that.
04:30 And that's something that you still you know, you still see even in this season is that
04:36 it's hidden in plain sight, you know, and that and it's and that's what's great about
04:40 the show is that like you can solve it along with Jack if you can think like Jack.
