00:02 I'm doing over 140 miles an hour on the Autobahn
00:06 in a Hyundai, this is crazy.

00:11 Hi guys, Connor Golden with Automobile Magazine.
00:25 We are in Germany driving the all new 2019 Veloster N.
00:29 If you've never heard of the N spec for Hyundai,
00:32 that's okay.
00:33 The Veloster N is the first N product to come to America.
00:38 The rest of the world has already enjoyed the i30 N
00:40 for a few months now.
00:42 This being a hot hatch,
00:43 there's a turbo four cylinder under the hood.
00:46 This one's a two liter, putting out 275 horsepower
00:49 and 260 foot pounds of torque.
00:51 That's what the performance pack.
00:55 The regular Veloster N will come with 250 horsepower.
00:59 I would definitely suggest swinging for the performance pack.
01:02 You get better wheels, better tires,
01:05 lower suspension ride height, louder exhaust.
01:08 Hyundai claims zero to 60,
01:10 it takes just like six seconds, 6.1 seconds.
01:13 Trust us, it feels a whole lot faster than that.
01:15 And we would know.
01:16 We just took this for two laps
01:18 on the Nürburgring here in Germany.
01:20 Handling is excellent.
01:21 There's very little understeer, very little body roll.
01:24 Hyundai also developed a special electronic differential
01:27 for the front wheels.
01:28 On places like the Nürburgring, it makes a huge difference.

01:34 Power kit, you can tell they really worked hard
01:42 to make this not only a good performance car,
01:45 but to make it as fun as possible.
01:47 Sounds great, pops and cracks on the overrun.
01:50 The interior is pretty neat as well.
01:52 Specking it out with the N package
01:53 gets you a bespoke steering wheel.
01:55 You get N specific seats.
01:58 You get a performance gauges and you get cool shift knob.
02:00 The great thing about this car is it's not just
02:04 that it's a really good track car
02:05 or a really good performance car.
02:07 It's just a lot of fun to drive.
02:09 The exhaust pops, it crackles.
02:11 The E diff makes it extremely easy
02:13 to whip around tight roads.
02:15 There's a launch control system as well
02:16 if you're not confident about launching
02:18 a front wheel drive car, which can be difficult.
02:20 Everything has a nice, well thought out feel to it.
02:24 There's nothing that's just thrown in here
02:26 as an additional extra.
02:27 The steering, the brakes, the clutch,
02:29 the engine, the exhaust, it's all cohesive.
02:31 I think we're gonna go drive a little bit more.
