00:03 Our weekly words of wisdom from Mike Tomlin talking about the
00:07 identity of his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
00:10 I think in 2023, when you're talking about team identity,
00:13 you're talking more intangible quality things.
00:17 A grit, a mindset.
00:19 Grit.
00:20 The approach in which you take the circumstances.
00:24 Are you a calculated risk-taking group?
00:26 Ooh, calculated risk.
00:27 Are you a fundamentalist group?
00:28 Are you a small menu group?
00:30 Oh, he's poking stuff.
00:31 Those are the things that really kind of comprise identity today.
00:34 If you start talking about we're a running group,
00:37 then people are going to show up in goal line defense and open field on you.
00:41 And so it doesn't behoove you to marry yourself to an identity.
00:45 All it does is make the sledding more difficult in 2023.
00:49 There's so much specialization in today's game.
00:52 It just is.
00:54 The utilization of people in very specific places on offense and defense.
00:59 It makes it a matchup game.
01:02 It makes it a situational game.
01:03 He's working for Melvin.
01:06 He's working for Melvin.
01:08 Portfolio diversification.
01:10 You don't want to be a run-heavy offense.
01:12 You want to spread the portfolio around.
01:14 Joe, and this is, again, another spot.
01:18 I mean, the Steelers are getting two and a half points at home against
01:22 Jacksonville.
01:23 I know you love this Jaguar team, but these are the games the Steelers
01:28 have been winning.
01:29 They just have with these numbers.
01:32 Absolutely.
01:33 I'm gunning for them again this week.
01:35 I'll tell you why.
01:36 This is the week that Mike Tomlin walks into a brick wall because,
01:39 you know what, this offensive-defensive line is very dominant.
01:44 They pushed around New Orleans in terms of the offensive side of the
01:47 football, ran the football.
01:49 Trevor Lawrence made some plays.
01:51 And this defense has been opportunistic.
01:53 They got by against L.A., especially on that fourth down call.
01:57 Kenny Pickett was nowhere close to that fourth down.
02:00 Nowhere close.
02:01 They gave them that call.
02:03 That's right.
02:04 I said it.
02:05 I'm talking all the Pittsburgh contingency.
02:07 You should have had that fourth down.
02:09 Should have been L.A. ran ball with an opportunity to win it.
02:12 I got bad news for you, Joe.
