00:00 Welcome into Sports Illustrated's coverage of the United States
00:02 Grand Prix presented by Michelob Ultra.
00:04 I'm Claudette Montana joined alongside Alex Harrington here in Austin, Texas.
00:08 And we're going to break down the big race, starting with Max Verstappen,
00:12 who got his 50th career win, 15th win of the season here in Austin, Texas.
00:16 What a day for Max.
00:18 Oh, it was amazing.
00:19 He drove his heart out.
00:20 He started on the back foot.
00:21 He was P6, but we knew he had pace because of the sprint race.
00:25 But I mean, he was nursing break issues.
00:28 He was, he was struggling.
00:30 You could hear it in his voice.
00:31 It was a great race from Max and he fully deserved that win.
00:34 Yeah.
00:34 You could hear the frustration in his voice for sure.
00:36 And speaking of frustration, breaking news, Lewis Hamilton and
00:40 Charles Leclerc have been disqualified from the US Grand Prix.
00:43 Alex, what more can you tell us?
00:44 Yeah.
00:44 I mean, this is crazy.
00:45 Um, I've never seen anything like this for a long time.
00:49 Um, the cars went through inspections after the race and it's been found
00:53 that there's actually too much damage to the board underneath the car.
00:56 And that just shows that there's too much bumping, too
00:58 much impact with the floor.
00:59 This is disastrous for both Hamilton and Leclerc.
01:01 It was a mixed day for McLaren.
01:03 Oscar Piastri started off hot, but his race finished early.
01:06 Lando Norris moves up to P2 now with this breaking news.
01:09 What was working for McLaren today?
01:11 Yeah, it was a bad day for Oscar Piastri.
01:13 He got hit by Ocon, which led to overheating problems.
01:16 But I mean, the car was on fire and Lando Norris is on fire too.
01:20 He really needed that.
01:21 He needed the confidence boost.
01:22 So now he can go into the rest of the season thinking, you know what?
01:25 I could actually win a race.
01:27 And I mean, that's brilliant.
01:29 I can't wait to see McLaren finally back to their former glory.
01:32 Well, we've had so much fun here in Austin and a very big turnout
01:36 here at the United States Grand Prix.
01:37 Almost half a million fans were out there today, even in the heat.
01:41 Would you say that the US Grand Prix was a success?
01:44 Oh, it was a huge success.
01:46 The race was brilliant.
01:47 440,000 people turned up.
01:49 That's 60% more than Miami, 40% more than the Las Vegas projections.
01:54 And it was packed, wasn't it?
01:55 The venue's brilliant.
01:57 The race was just incredible.
01:59 America, you obviously love F1 and we love you for it.
02:02 Yeah, we love F1 here in America.
02:05 I can attest as an American.
02:06 And we are getting so excited because we will also be in Las Vegas, Nevada.
02:10 So stay tuned for that.
02:11 Austin, Texas has been so much fun.
02:13 I learned how to square dance, did a couple of things.
02:15 And stay tuned for next month in Las Vegas.
02:18 We'll see you then.
02:19 Looking forward to it.
