02:33 >> Where are you from?
02:34 >> Malaysia.
02:35 >> Malaysia, you're just here on holiday?
02:37 >> Yeah, I just from yesterday.
02:40 >> Right, okay. >> Just arrived yesterday.
02:41 >> Okay, are you Manchester United fan?
02:43 >> Yeah, of course.
02:44 >> [LAUGH] >> Just tell us why you've come here today.
02:49 >> Actually, I want to visit the Old Trafford.
02:51 This is my first time here.
02:53 So at the same time, just to pay the tribute to Sir Bobby.
02:58 So I think this is the perfect time for me, my first time here.
03:04 So I can pay the tribute and visit this great stadium here with all of the fantastic fans.
03:13 Yeah.
03:14 >> Tell us where you're from and what Sir Bobby meant to you,
03:18 even though you don't even come from England.
03:21 >> I'm from Malaysia.
03:24 So actually, I support Manchester since I was seven years old.
03:31 And my idol is David Beckham.
03:36 >> What did Sir Bobby mean to you?
03:39 >> Our legend, Manchester United legend and the England legend, the World Cup winner, isn't it?
03:45 Yeah.
03:46 So I feel sorry for the loss.
03:55 So yeah, it's a big loss for England, the great legend.
04:00 >> Thank you very much.
04:01 >> You're welcome.
04:02 >> Thank you.
04:03 >> Just tell us why you're here today.
04:05 >> Yeah, we obviously with a sad news yesterday, we decided he was going to come up in me yesterday, last night.
04:12 I mean, what can we say?
04:13 I mean, what can we say about the man?
04:16 He's an absolute icon, not just for this club, but football in general.
04:20 I mean, he's the reason why, in my opinion, why this club exists and what it means to everybody and what it stands for.
04:29 Obviously, one of the Busby babes surviving that crash and then being part of the rebuild.
04:35 What more can we say?
04:37 I've heard him described as Mr Manchester United.
04:42 I don't think he can get any, you know, he can't go far wrong with that really.
04:46 But it's a sad day.
04:48 Sad day.
04:49 So we thought we'd come up today and put a scarf on there and we'll probably go and look at the book, sign the book.
04:57 But yeah, sad day.
05:00 >> Can you explain, I take it from your accent that you're not...
05:03 >> Yeah, we're from the Midlands.
05:04 Yeah, we're from the West Midlands.
05:07 I used to come up quite a lot during the 90s, a lot of games.
05:13 Trying to get some games to come up with my lad now.
05:16 So yeah, we've gone up early this morning, drive up.
05:22 But we felt that we needed to come up.
05:27 Obviously, hearing the news yesterday at 8am.
05:31 I decided then, I said to him, shall we go up tomorrow?
05:34 And he said, yeah, yeah, we want to go.
05:36 >> Can you put into words why, why that feeling that you needed to be here?
05:40 >> I don't know, it's just, I mean, like I said, well, you know, it's the man that he was, the man that he is.
05:46 And I just think out of respect that, you know, we just had to come up here today.
05:52 I was almost drawn to come up here today.
05:54 I mean, I'm drawn to come up here most times anyway.
05:57 Especially today, it's just, I mean, you know, while we've got the opportunity,
06:03 and obviously I'm at school and I'm not at work.
06:06 It's, you know, I thought, right, I've got to come up here.
06:09 Got to come up and pay my respects.
06:11 So yeah, that's why we're here.
06:13 >> Thanks very much.
06:14 >> Thank you.
06:15 >> Cheers.
06:16 [ Background noise ]
06:34 >> I mean, in the area anyway, but we just thought it was right to come down today and, you know,
06:40 pay our respects to Baptist of Obie.
06:42 >> So can I just, sorry now, because I started before Mike was ready.
06:47 Just tell us where you've come from and why you've come here today.
06:50 >> Well, we come, we live in Plymouth, but, you know, I thought it was, you know, being in the area,
06:56 we thought it'd be best if we come down and pay respects to Sir Bobby.
07:01 He's such a gentleman, as well as a legend, as a player for Manchester United and England, you know.
07:09 So just great to be here.
07:13 It's very touching, very touching, you know.
07:16 Yeah.
07:17 >> And have you signed the book of condolence?
07:20 >> Not yet.
07:21 No, we will do.
07:22 I believe it's in the International Suite there.
07:24 So we'll do that.
07:26 Yeah, yeah, yeah, just a remarkable person, really.
07:29 I did meet him once and he was just a perfect gentleman, very humble.
07:35 You didn't think, you wouldn't think he was a United legend and, you know, winning the World Cup in 1966 and things like that.
07:44 You wouldn't believe it.
07:45 You know, he was just a normal bloke, you know, so it's phenomenal, phenomenal person.
07:50 >> Can you put into words what it's like to lose?
07:58 >> I think football has changed over the years and the gentleman in him, you don't see that so much these days.
08:08 And I just think that that is lost now.
08:12 It's just so sad.
08:14 Like my husband said, he was just a gentleman.
08:18 >> Yeah, he's just, I think, from a different era, you know.
08:22 >> Yes.
08:23 >> And the man was just class, complete class from early on.
08:29 And I guess he was heavily affected by the Munich crash.
08:34 He often used to talk about it and he often used to talk about his friends that he lost in the crash and things like that, you know.
08:41 So it was great to meet him.
08:46 And yeah, he'll live in the memory forever, really.
08:50 You know, he's just our Bobby, you know.
08:53 >> And what would you say in the Book of Condolences to him, what would you tell him tonight?
08:59 >> What can you say?
09:01 >> I would say just thank you.
09:05 Just thank you for our memories.
09:08 >> Thank you very much.
09:09 >> No worries. Thank you.
09:13 >> Just tell us why you wanted to come here today.
09:16 >> Because he's a legend, isn't he? Bobby Charlton, you know, Munich survivor.
09:20 Well, was the all-time leading goal scorer.
09:22 So ruining, just to pay him respects, really.
09:24 I've never seen him play, but great stories from my dad, my granddad.
09:28 So, yeah, just wanted to come and pay him respects, really.
09:31 >> What does he mean to you?
09:33 >> He means everything to every man United fan, I think.
09:37 You know, especially what he's been through, surviving Munich, ten years later, captain of the European Cup.
09:42 You know, I think him and Matt Busby, all of them, you know, have been not just to me, to every man United fan.
09:48 >> And have you signed his Book of Condolences?
09:50 >> I'm going to do that now, yeah.
09:52 >> And just tell us why and what you're going to write in that.
09:55 >> Just sleep well, probably, you know, and now he's with his friends again, the Busby Babes in the sky.
09:59 So he can rest well and back with them.
10:03 >> Thanks very much.
10:04 >> Cheers.
10:06 >> Maybe sign that.
