00:00 This one that says "I love CH."
00:01 Oh, this one that says "I love CH."
00:03 Nice.
00:03 Who do you think tattooed that on his foot?
00:05 Was it you?
00:06 Nice.
00:08 Skills.
00:08 Second career.
00:11 You're right.
00:12 So the first thing I have to ask about is Daryl.
00:20 Because he's clearly been on a journey for ever since
00:24 Captain America Civil War.
00:25 You're the first person to ask about Daryl.
00:27 And Daryl's in the film.
00:28 He's the tour guide.
00:29 He's the tour guide.
00:29 Yes.
00:30 And you as guide.
00:31 And all kind of like--
00:32 I love that--
00:33 I was just saying that thing that we shot before Ragnarok,
00:36 those little short films, kind of set
00:39 the tone for the character.
00:40 It was like a little experiment.
00:41 We're like, oh, let's see what Thor's like when he's a bit
00:45 more human.
00:46 And a bit more kind of improvisational and wacky.
00:49 And we had kind of no--
00:51 there was no risk.
00:52 And then we walked on set and we thought,
00:53 let's kind of keep that going.
00:55 Yeah.
00:55 It's cool.
00:55 Yeah.
00:56 And so is the idea that Thor was just such a terrible roommate
00:59 that he actually got him a job in New Asgard?
01:01 He owed Daryl money.
01:02 And I'll get you a job in New Asgard.
01:05 You're going to love it in Norway.
01:06 In reference, yeah.
01:07 Nice.
01:07 Yeah.
01:08 Right, D?
01:09 Yep.
01:09 One scene that I want to ask about specifically
01:15 is the scene with all the children.
01:16 Because you're playing almost a horror villain showing up
01:19 in front of this group.
01:20 Like, what was that experience like?
01:22 You know, it was like the worst birthday party performer ever.
01:26 You know?
01:26 And we did actually sit there.
01:28 And we went through so much.
01:29 That was just one of a bunch of things
01:31 that Taika and I made up on the spot.
01:33 He was just sitting near the camera going,
01:34 eh, try doing this thing and do that.
01:36 We did a whole bunch of different things.
01:39 And that was the one that we chose.
01:42 But we had a lot of fun, a lot of creativity.
01:45 We went to some really bloody funny places.
01:48 And we also went to some very, very creepy, dark places,
01:51 both of which were probably a little bit too extreme.
01:53 So we want to make sure that this is a family film.
01:56 And I took my kids to it last night.
01:59 And they just adored it.
02:00 And what was it like interacting between shots with the kids?
02:03 Like, were they--
02:05 Oh, actually, no.
02:06 They-- yeah, no, they were fascinated.
02:07 It's the thing about playing a villain, isn't it?
02:09 People are fascinated with the villain.
02:11 You know?
02:12 So the first few days--
02:13 I spent a lot of days with all the kids.
02:14 But the first few days, they were all a little bit
02:16 kind of looking at me.
02:17 And Taika's little girl, she was hysterical.
02:19 She would stare daggers at me.
02:21 You know?
02:22 I would try talking to her.
02:23 And she was having none of it.
02:24 She was just like, you-- just looking at me,
02:26 like, you stay away.
02:28 She just would-- she demolished me with every time.
02:30 She looked strong little character.
02:33 But initially, they were all staying-- keeping
02:35 their distance.
02:36 But then as they recognized just how harmless and silly I am,
02:42 they were all coming up and like, god,
02:43 do the Black Bile thing.
02:45 Do this.
02:45 Give me the necrosyl.
02:46 The necrosyl will get passed around everybody.
02:48 And then people will be coming in,
02:49 Christian, is that the sharp one?
02:50 Please don't let the kids play with that one.
02:52 Oh, it's the rubber version.
02:53 OK.
02:54 Great.
02:54 But they were fascinated, wanted to touch all the scarring
02:57 and whatnot.
02:58 And yeah, it was a great deal of fun.
03:02 Today, we'll go down in history.
03:05 How exciting.
03:06 Today, we'll fight.
03:08 And this is spoilery, and I promise
03:10 to hold it until the movie comes out.
03:11 But I do want to ask about "The Whisper,"
03:13 because I know--
03:15 I'm assuming that you are not going to tell me
03:16 what it actually said.
03:17 But I'm curious, if there was a specific line,
03:20 and you could just talk about filming that scene?
03:23 Yeah, that scene was really, really fun to shoot.
03:30 And yes, there is a specific line,
03:32 but I will never reveal it.
03:33 Never?
03:36 The one that got away.
03:37 The one that got away.
03:39 That means escaped.
03:40 Yeah.
03:41 Yeah.
03:42 Well, this is kind of spoilery, but I also--
03:44 I need to ask about the tattoo, because the R&B, the Loki
03:47 tattoo--
03:47 This one?
03:48 No, that one.
03:49 This one that says, I love CH.
03:51 Oh, the tattoo says, I love CH.
03:52 Nice.
03:53 Who do you think tattooed that on his foot?
03:54 Was it you?
03:56 Nice.
03:57 Skills, second career.
03:59 What was the design process for that, and how did that come about?
04:02 He just did it freehand.
04:05 So the design process of the Loki tattoo of the beak--
04:09 Did you come up with that?
04:10 Yeah, that was my--
04:11 I tried to get that in "Ragnarok."
04:13 Yeah, yeah, rest in peace.
04:15 And him and Loki were talking, and he goes,
04:18 I thought you were dead.
04:19 I mourned you.
04:20 I got this tattoo.
04:21 And he lifts up his finger, and it says, RIP Loki.
04:24 We had another opportunity to do it this time,
04:26 and Kevin was like, yeah, let's go big, though.
04:28 Let's really-- let's put it all over his back.
04:30 We had another tattoo reference as well,
04:32 when we were talking about rollerblading.
04:34 That's it.
04:35 Thor and Jane-- yeah, yeah.
04:36 You never-- you know, what is it, blade?
04:38 Once you blade--
04:38 Once you blade, you never fade.
04:41 But that didn't make it in the movie.
04:44 You are not like the other gods of kill.
04:49 You have something worth fighting for.
04:53 [explosion]
