#JustineTrudeau #CanadianDiplomats #India #CanadaIndia is "contravening a very basic principle of diplomacy" by stripping diplomatic immunity for 41 Canadian diplomats, Trudeau shared in a press conference today. India's actions are "something that has far-reaching consequences for the diplomatic world that I know many many countries are worried about," he said. Canada pulled diplomats out of India after India's demand for parity of officials between the two countries, something that has no grounding in diplomatic norms or laws and has been questioned as a bizarre escalation by experts.

The Indian move to target Canadian diplomats is outside international norms and has been criticized as a troubling escalation and precedent by India.

"The US and UK are two of the Five Eyes nations and we expect Australia and New Zealand to also back Canada against India in the coming days." "We also expect France, Germany, Italy and Japan as G7 allies of Canada to also publicly back them in condemning India." “The Indian government is demonstrating by its actions it has no respect for the rule of law. It is digging a bigger hole by unnecessarily compromising the security of diplomats." "The Indian government is refusing to accept it has been caught red-handed for extrajudicially killing a Canadian Sikh leader on Canadian soil as it implicates the Indian PM in ordering the targeted killing.” "Many nations will be asking why India has refused to cooperate with the investigation for over two months and conclude their sovereignty is far more valuable t
