00:03:45 Disbelief occurs as a result of wrong teaching.
00:03:50 It comes from being taught wrong.
00:03:58 Disbelief, "I'm having a hard time believing the truth
00:04:06 because I am prejudiced to what I've always heard."
00:04:11 Number three, the third form of unbelief is something called
00:04:16 natural unbelief, natural unbelief,
00:04:27 and that comes mainly from what you see in your experiences,
00:04:37 natural inputs that may be contrary to the truth,
00:04:42 natural inputs that may be contrary to the proof.
00:04:45 In other words, you're saying, you know,
00:04:47 the Word says you're healed, but then I can see that big
00:04:50 old thing on my leg.
00:04:53 It's unbelief that comes from the viewing of the natural
00:04:57 circumstances and situations.
00:05:00 So, three forms of unbelief, ignorance, disbelief,
00:05:06 and natural unbelief.
00:05:10 Now, let's deal with them one at a time,
00:05:15 apply some Scripture to it, and add a little bit more
00:05:17 to the definition.
00:05:18 Let's deal with ignorance, just don't know.
00:05:21 Ignorance, it just means I just don't know.
00:05:23 It's not knowing.
00:05:25 The Bible says, "My people are destroyed because they just
00:05:28 don't know."
00:05:29 Ignorance can set you up for destruction,
00:05:33 but it's due to a person's lack of knowledge,
00:05:37 they have unbelief.
00:05:39 Due to I just didn't know, they have unbelief.
00:05:43 So, the cure to that is just tell the truth,
00:05:49 and if received, the ignorance will be dealt with.
00:05:54 That's the truth.
00:05:56 How many of you know there's some ignorant folks that love
00:05:57 staying ignorant?
00:06:02 It seems like it's an easy thing to do.
00:06:06 Let me show you something.
00:06:07 Go to 1 Timothy chapter 1 and verse 13 in the King James,
00:06:13 and then look at it in the NLT.
00:06:15 1 Timothy chapter 1 and 13, we look at Paul and how Paul
00:06:20 persecuted the church and how Paul had Stephen stoned to
00:06:23 death, and you think, "Why did he do this?"
00:06:27 Verse 13, he says, "Who was before," referring to Paul,
00:06:32 "Paul was before a blasphemer."
00:06:35 Paul was a blasphemer.
00:06:37 He was a persecutor.
00:06:39 He was injurious.
00:06:41 He said, "But I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly
00:06:46 in unbelief."
00:06:50 How many things that you look back and you're like,
00:06:55 "Why did I do that?"
00:06:56 You probably did it ignorantly in unbelief.
00:07:01 Listen to NLT.
00:07:03 He said, "Even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ,
00:07:09 in my insolence, I persecuted his people, but God had mercy
00:07:15 on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief."
00:07:21 Now, here's the thing I want you to celebrate.
00:07:23 Even when you were ignorant and unbelieving,
00:07:26 God had mercy on you.
00:07:29 Sometimes people want to hold the thing against you,
00:07:34 but in your ignorance and unbelief--I mean, as a parent,
00:07:37 there were certain things I did ignorantly, but thank God he had
00:07:42 mercy on me, which means everything gonna be all right.
00:07:46 Amen?
00:07:48 Now, let me show you an illustration of how this works.
00:07:52 Go to John.
00:07:53 Let me show this how it works.
00:07:55 John chapter 12, verse 31 and 32.
00:07:58 Look at it in the King James.
00:08:02 John 12, there's certain things that, you know, when certain
00:08:05 things are shared and you just--you believe ignorantly.
00:08:09 You're in unbelief of some things because you just
00:08:12 didn't know.
00:08:14 Here's some things we just didn't know.
00:08:17 Now, watch carefully.
00:08:20 Last week, we established context is king.
00:08:23 Now, I'm gonna show you a Scripture you've always heard.
00:08:28 "If I be lifted up from the earth,
00:08:30 I'll draw all men unto me."
00:08:31 How many of you heard that before?
00:08:33 Now, verse 31, "Now is the judgment of this world."
00:08:41 "Now is the judgment of this world," colon, which means
00:08:44 judgment is the subject that we're talking about,
00:08:48 followed by the list.
00:08:49 "Now is the judgment of this world.
00:08:52 Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
00:08:56 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
00:09:00 will draw all men unto me."
00:09:04 And all my life, I'm wondering, something must be wrong with
00:09:09 you being lifted up because all men have yet
00:09:13 to be drawn unto you.
00:09:15 And then I went back and looked at it.
00:09:16 It said, "But men" is in italicized, which means it did
00:09:21 not appear in the original language.
00:09:25 And that's not what he's talking about.
00:09:26 They left something out.
00:09:29 The subject here is not men.
00:09:32 The subject here is judgment.
00:09:35 And what he said was, "If I be lifted up from the earth,
00:09:38 I will draw all men's judgment unto me."
00:09:42 All of the judgment that we have received from all the things
00:09:49 that we have done ignorantly, God said, "If I lift my son up,
00:09:54 he is gonna draw every judgment that was rightfully yours.
00:09:59 Instead of the judgment coming on you,
00:10:02 the judgment is gonna come on him."
00:10:04 Do you see what happens when you don't know?
00:10:14 And so, I'm thinking, "All men are coming."
00:10:16 He says, "Now," and see, they translate, "If you don't
00:10:21 understand the gospel message and this new and living way,
00:10:24 yeah, you'll say, 'I'll draw all men unto me.'"
00:10:26 And it sounds good.
00:10:27 "And if I be lifted up from the earth,
00:10:29 I'll draw all men unto thee."
00:10:31 Oh, yes, amen.
00:10:33 We just don't know how to read sometimes.
00:10:36 You go back to your grandma, all that teaching you had on grammar
00:10:39 and diagram and sentences.
00:10:41 "If I be lifted up from the earth,
00:10:44 I'll draw all of man's judgment unto me."
00:10:48 Judgment is the subject.
00:10:51 So, we've got to open ourselves up.
00:10:54 We can deal with this first area of unbelief.
00:10:57 We can deal with ignorance.
00:10:58 How?
00:10:59 By continuing to expose ourselves to the truth.
00:11:03 The more you expose yourself to the truth,
00:11:07 the less and less ignorant you're gonna live and be because
00:11:12 of your exposure to the truth, amen?
00:11:15 Now, let's deal with this one.
00:11:16 It's gonna take a little time with this one,
00:11:18 'cause disbelief, people, people,
00:11:20 they get violent in this area.
00:11:24 This is more difficult to overcome than ignorance.
00:11:29 As a person who has been--as a person who has been taught
00:11:33 wrong, they have the prejudices against the truth.
00:11:38 You have to receive the truth of God's Word above man's
00:11:45 traditional thinking in order to overcome this unbelief that came
00:11:52 through wrong teaching.
00:11:54 The majority of the church today, it's like,
00:12:00 "That's what I always heard.
00:12:03 That's the way I've always believed,
00:12:06 and if it ain't broke, I ain't--ain't no need to fix it."
00:12:09 Let me show you something.
00:12:14 Matthew chapter 5.
00:12:16 Let me walk an example through with you,
00:12:19 and I'll show you an area where this has been around forever.
00:12:23 Matthew chapter 5, verse 17 and 18.
00:12:28 All right, now, check this out.
00:12:32 Disbelief, as a result of--you believe the way you believe
00:12:35 because you were taught wrong.
00:12:37 That's been my journey.
00:12:39 I've been on a journey of discovering those areas where I
00:12:45 was taught wrong so I can clear up the disbelief.
00:12:49 Notice in verse 17, this is a big one.
00:12:56 I may even go viral on this one, but this is a big one.
00:12:58 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law," Jesus is
00:13:03 speaking, "or the prophets."
00:13:12 "Think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets.
00:13:16 I am not come to destroy the law,
00:13:21 but I've come to fulfill the law.
00:13:24 For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass away,
00:13:29 one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
00:13:39 not--nothing will pass from the law till all be fulfilled."
00:13:45 Now, the first thing is, Jesus said,
00:13:51 "I didn't come to destroy the law."
00:13:53 Jesus said, "I come to fulfill it."
00:13:55 He didn't say, "You are to fulfill it."
00:13:58 He said, "He came to fulfill it because if you could fulfill it,
00:14:02 he would not have to come to fulfill it," right?
00:14:07 So, he said, "I came to do something that no man could do."
00:14:12 The law is perfect.
00:14:14 Men, because of the failure of Adam and Eve,
00:14:18 we are not perfect.
00:14:20 Imperfection can't fulfill perfection.
00:14:23 Only perfection can fulfill perfection,
00:14:27 and Jesus is the only one I know is perfect that can come and
00:14:30 feel something that's perfect.
00:14:32 You can't.
00:14:34 He said, "For verily I say unto you,
00:14:38 till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot, not one tittle,
00:14:41 not one little bit of the law gonna pass away until I prove
00:14:46 that I can fulfill it all.
00:14:50 Now, once I fulfill it all, it can pass away."
00:14:55 But there's been this thing about the law,
00:14:59 like you're trying to hold on to it like you can keep it.
00:15:03 I don't pay no attention to the passing of the dollar,
00:15:05 and then you go somewhere else.
00:15:06 Well, Jesus didn't come to destroy the law.
00:15:09 He didn't come to destroy the law.
00:15:11 He came to fulfill it.
00:15:12 And what you're insinuating is he didn't come to destroy it.
00:15:17 He came to fulfill it, so I'm gonna fulfill it.
00:15:22 You can't.
00:15:24 The law will beat you down.
00:15:26 So, what did he say?
00:15:30 Look at Romans chapter 10.
00:15:31 I'm gonna finally go through this whole thing.
00:15:33 Romans chapter 10, and the King James first,
00:15:38 and then in LLT, Romans 10 and 4.
00:15:41 I'm gonna add all the balances to this.
00:15:44 Romans 10 and 4, here's what he said.
00:15:47 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone
00:15:52 that believe."
00:15:56 So, now he's getting ready to make a distinction.
00:15:59 He is saying, "For people who believe and gotten born again,
00:16:04 your belief in Jesus is an end to the law in your life."
00:16:09 Look at this in the New Living Translation,
00:16:15 in the New Living Translation.
00:16:17 "For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for
00:16:21 which the law was given."
00:16:22 So, he says, "When it is fulfilled, it'll pass away."
00:16:26 It's not gonna pass away until it is fulfilled.
00:16:29 Well, here he's saying it's accomplished.
00:16:31 "Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law
00:16:34 was given.
00:16:35 As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God."
00:16:41 For you to say, "No, I'm gonna still live by the law,"
00:16:45 is for you to say, "I have yet to believe in Jesus,"
00:16:49 because those who now believe in Jesus, he says,
00:16:52 "That's an end to the law 'cause you believe in Jesus."
00:16:54 All right, hold on, hold on.
00:16:57 Real quick, Luke 16, 16, and Matthew 11, 13,
00:17:02 and then I'm gonna show you something that's gonna bring
00:17:07 this--no, no, no, no, no, help me, Lord, help me, help me.
00:17:10 Let's go to 1 Timothy first, 1 Timothy.
00:17:15 Sometimes in my anal thinking, I wanna show you every little bit
00:17:18 and sometimes it ain't necessary.
00:17:19 Sometimes you need to just go straight to the point.
00:17:22 1 Timothy chapter 1 and verse 8 through 11.
00:17:28 All right, we finna milk this, man.
00:17:32 I'm finna put my--we gonna milk this thing, put it in a bottle
00:17:37 and put it in the refrigerator.
00:17:40 1 Timothy chapter 1.
00:17:42 All right, now, watch this.
00:17:44 "Now, for those who are born again and believe in Jesus,
00:17:49 you have a new way of living.
00:17:52 Your living is gonna be by the Holy Ghost."
00:17:55 Watch this Word, verse 8.
00:18:00 "But we know that the law is good."
00:18:03 It's not only good, it's perfect.
00:18:06 He said, "Now, if a man use it lawfully, it is good."
00:18:12 If a man use it lawfully, it is good.
00:18:15 Well, how was the law--how do you use the law lawfully?
00:18:20 By using it the way that it was intended to be used.
00:18:24 The law is good if used as it was originally intended.
00:18:29 And what was it originally intended to do?
00:18:33 The law was to make us aware of sin and the law was to push us
00:18:39 towards Jesus.
00:18:43 The law was given to make everybody aware of the
00:18:47 sinfulness of their sin 'cause without the law,
00:18:51 you don't know what's right or wrong.
00:18:53 That was the problem before the law.
00:18:55 They're doing everything, killing each other and everything,
00:18:57 and God's like, "We gotta do something.
00:18:58 They just doing stuff.
00:18:59 There's no standard of right and wrong."
00:19:02 So, he said, "I'm gonna give them something perfect and
00:19:04 flawless, and the law's gonna show them the sinfulness of
00:19:07 their sin, and then the law's gonna show them their need
00:19:10 for a Savior."
00:19:13 But it was not legal and lawful to use the law to drive us to
00:19:19 legalism.
00:19:26 The law was never intended to drive us to legalism.
00:19:32 What is legalism?
00:19:34 It's focusing on God's law more than the relationship with God.
00:19:39 Legalism, focusing on God's law and not the relationship
00:19:42 with God.
00:19:43 In other words, you're focusing on that rule,
00:19:45 and you have no relationship with God.
00:19:49 The law or legalism is keeping the eternal law without
00:19:55 submitting your heart to God.
00:19:57 Your heart's not even in it.
00:20:00 And so, he says, "But we know that the law is good if a man
00:20:03 use it lawfully."
00:20:04 If the law is being used to show the sinfulness of your sin,
00:20:08 if the law is being used to drive you to Christ,
00:20:12 then he says that's using it lawfully.
00:20:14 Next verse, "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a
00:20:20 righteous man."
00:20:22 I'm telling you, if you use it lawfully,
00:20:27 but those of you who are righteous because you made
00:20:29 Jesus the Lord of your life, the law's not for you.
00:20:32 No matter how you look for it, a guy who believes in Jesus and a
00:20:35 man who's not born again has to divorce himself from the law and
00:20:41 allow the new way of living, allow the Holy Ghost to be the
00:20:45 administrator of morality versus rules and regulations being the
00:20:49 administrator of morality.
00:20:52 "Knowing this, that the law is not made for the righteous man,
00:20:55 but the law," watch this, "was made for the lawless,
00:20:59 for the disobedient, for the ungodly,
00:21:03 for the sinner, for the unholy."
00:21:06 Oh, my goodness.
00:21:08 "For the murderers of fathers, murderers of mothers,
00:21:12 for manslayers, for whoremongers,
00:21:16 for them that defile themselves, for man-pleasers,
00:21:20 for liars and perjured persons.
00:21:23 If there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,
00:21:28 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God,
00:21:30 I have committed to my trust."
00:21:33 Look at what he very clearly said.
00:21:36 This is who the law is for.
00:21:39 It's for people who don't believe in Jesus,
00:21:43 people who's sinning, people who's screwing around,
00:21:47 people who doing stuff.
00:21:49 He said the law is for folks who's in the sinfulness of
00:21:52 their sin, and the law will even show them,
00:21:58 "You're not doing good."
00:22:00 The law'll show you.
00:22:02 The law can be--you'll go do it, and you'll brag about having a
00:22:05 good time, but there's something on the inside of you the law
00:22:09 will keep amplifying.
00:22:11 If it's used for the purpose that it was given,
00:22:14 it's gonna be used to show you your sin.
00:22:16 When certain sins take place in the life of people,
00:22:21 some people have to get hooked on some kind of drugs to numb
00:22:27 the emotional attack of doing what they do.
00:22:33 And so there's a combination of the sin and the drugs,
00:22:36 something to numb it.
00:22:38 The Bible calls it pharmacia.
00:22:40 It's a demon that comes through a drug addiction that tries to
00:22:45 numb that thing that the law is trying to bring you to--the law
00:22:51 is trying to say this ain't right.
00:22:52 The law is trying to say, "If you keep doing this,
00:22:53 it's gonna kill you."
00:22:54 The law gonna say, "You know, you're just mean."
00:22:57 You're just--you're holding it up.
00:22:58 "Forgive me, you need to let it go."
00:22:59 The law said, you know, "You're murdering folks."
00:23:01 It stays with a person because it shows them sin if you use it
00:23:06 lawfully, but if you try to use the law to have a relationship
00:23:11 with Jesus, that is using it unlawfully because the law was
00:23:16 not sent to do that.
00:23:17 The law was sent to show you your sins and show you a need
00:23:21 for a Savior, but once you get in a relationship with the
00:23:25 Savior, you don't need the law no more because you're born
00:23:29 again.
00:23:31 And besides all of that, Matthew chapter 7 and verses 13,
00:23:43 Matthew 7 and 12, Matthew 7 and 12, let's read it in the NLT.
00:23:53 "You're gonna either live by the law of Moses that is
00:23:58 administered by rule keeping."
00:24:07 In other words, he gives you 603 rules to try to get the benefit
00:24:12 of morality from the Ten Commandments.
00:24:18 He says, "All right, if you're gonna do this, if you're gonna
00:24:23 'Thou shall not kill,' you gotta do these 20 things to see if you
00:24:27 can achieve that."
00:24:29 It failed miserably.
00:24:31 But then we come to the New Testament, and remember,
00:24:36 the Ten Commandments, that's God.
00:24:37 That's God's character.
00:24:38 It is holy, it is flawless, it is perfect.
00:24:43 And so, the New Testament shows up and he says, "All right,
00:24:45 I'm gonna give you the Holy Ghost."
00:24:47 And all of the morality that could not be achieved under the
00:24:52 carnal law based on performance is now gonna be able to be
00:24:58 achieved through the administration of the Holy Spirit.
00:25:01 And look what he said in verse 12, "Do to others whatever you
00:25:06 would like them to do to you.
00:25:09 In doing so, this is the essence of all that is taught in the law
00:25:13 and the prophets."
00:25:15 You know what he just said?
00:25:16 "I can tell you how to get a hold of everything that was
00:25:20 taught in the law and the prophets.
00:25:23 Treat other people like you wanna be treated."
00:25:25 Say, "What?"
00:25:30 I'm gonna show you how powerful that is, 'cause then the Holy
00:25:33 Ghost starts working.
00:25:35 And in order to treat people like you've been treated, you're
00:25:41 gonna have to deal with the hurt and still treat 'em the way
00:25:45 you're treated anyway.
00:25:48 You're gonna have to deal with the fear of rejection and still
00:25:51 treat 'em like they ought to be treated anyway.
00:25:53 Look at the Holy Ghost working on you.
00:25:55 See, you growing up when you can turn around and speak to somebody
00:25:59 that won't speak to you, and when they didn't speak to you,
00:26:02 it hurt you, but you still spoke with 'em, you still spoke to 'em
00:26:06 anyway, because what you're doing, that's an expression of
00:26:09 the grace of God.
00:26:10 You realize that God showed me grace when I didn't deserve it.
00:26:14 God showed somebody else grace, glory to God, and in doing that
00:26:18 I show you the whole essence of what the law and the prophets
00:26:23 were all about.
00:26:25 But we're more content at pulling a rule out and using it
00:26:30 to try to convict somebody, try to play the Holy Ghost.
00:26:34 And he says, "No, you don't have to play me.
00:26:36 You can't be me."
00:26:38 What you do is say, "All right, I'm gonna treat this person the
00:26:42 way I wanna be treated, and if they hurt me, I'm gonna still
00:26:46 treat 'em the way I wanna be treated, 'cause if I hurt
00:26:51 somebody, I still want somebody--"
00:26:53 Look at what happens to your life as a Christian.
00:26:55 You gonna start growing now, because now selfishness is not
00:26:58 determining your actions.
00:27:00 You made your mind up, "I am going to live by the essence of
00:27:04 what was taught in the law and the prophets.
00:27:06 I'm not gonna live by a law that's administered by
00:27:09 rule-keeping.
00:27:11 I'm gonna live by the essence of the law that's administered by
00:27:14 the Holy Spirit and the love of God, and because I love him and
00:27:18 because he gave me grace, I can show grace to you.
00:27:21 Even though you don't deserve me showing grace to you, I'm gonna
00:27:25 show grace to you."
00:27:27 And in doing that, the Holy Spirit starts changing stuff on
00:27:30 the inside of you and raising you up as a holy Christian so
00:27:36 that your state will match your stance, and you start growing
00:27:39 and growing, but you can't do that being determined to take
00:27:44 three or four laws and use it to condemn somebody to make you
00:27:48 feel better about your sin.
00:27:50 'Cause it makes you feel more Christian, because, you know, I
00:27:55 don't drink.
00:28:02 That's legalism.
00:28:04 You're like the Pharisee.
00:28:07 I tithe, I pray twice a day, I do this and I do that, and Jesus
00:28:11 said that this tax collector is going to heaven before that
00:28:15 Pharisee who's busy in his legalism, but his heart is far
00:28:20 from him.
00:28:21 I want my heart to be towards God.
00:28:22 I want my heart to be with God.
00:28:25 I don't wanna be going around trying to quote law to you.
00:28:31 I trust the Holy Ghost will straighten you up.
00:28:32 Cuss me out, I trust the Holy Ghost will help you, and he'll
00:28:35 help me not to cuss you back.
00:28:37 I trust the Holy Ghost.
00:28:39 But the disbelief is 'cause we were taught wrong, we don't know
00:28:49 how to live.
00:28:50 So, we make it extremely difficult for everybody because
00:28:54 of our own disbelief, and we point fingers, and we plague
00:28:59 Holy Ghost police, and we do all of these things, and the thing
00:29:03 he said that I want you to do, do to others the way you want
00:29:07 them to do to you.
00:29:09 This is the essence of the law and what they prophesize.
00:29:26 It's the sum of the law and what they prophesize, and the new
00:29:29 King James says this is what was prophesied.
00:29:33 Look at verse 16, Luke 16, 16, Matthew 11, 13.
00:29:38 This is why I keep showing you this, but your disbelief fights
00:29:45 this 'cause you have been taught in the law, you have been raised
00:29:50 up in the law, and so when the truth come and the evidence,
00:29:53 it's like if you just know how to read, you'll see this.
00:29:58 But the disbelief is fighting you.
00:30:01 Verse 16 and 16, "The law and the prophets," the prophets are
00:30:04 all the things that came through the prophets.
00:30:07 The law, the Deuteronomy, Leviticus, those next two books,
00:30:12 and the Genesis was more of something a little different
00:30:17 because it was laying out the genealogy of what was going on.
00:30:21 He said, "The law and the prophets were until John,
00:30:24 the Baptist.
00:30:25 And since that time, the kingdom of God is preached, and every
00:30:29 man presses into it."
00:30:30 He said, "So the law and the prophets lasted
00:30:32 until John, the Baptist."
00:30:34 Why?
00:30:35 John went to prison and Jesus showed up.
00:30:37 Matthew chapter 11, Matthew chapter 11, and verse 13, "For
00:30:52 all the prophets and the law, it was done till John."
00:30:56 That means there was a expiration for living that way.
00:31:01 And what happens is however you were taught in this area, it's
00:31:06 so strong in you, it's a stronghold in you that you won't
00:31:13 let it go.
00:31:15 And the Bible says in Genesis--Galatians chapter 4,
00:31:20 "It took two women," and these two women represented the two
00:31:24 covenants, the covenant of the law and the covenant of grace.
00:31:29 Ahab, which represents the covenant of the law, and Sarah,
00:31:33 which represented the covenant of grace.
00:31:36 And here's what they said.
00:31:38 They said that under the covenant of law, Hagar, under
00:31:46 the covenant of law, she had Ishmael through self-effort of
00:31:52 her and Abraham getting together while he was still able to
00:31:55 produce a seed.
00:31:57 But Sarah and Abraham, when they got together, everything has
00:32:03 shut down.
00:32:05 Old, 90-something years old, 100-year-old, they had to
00:32:11 depend on God to produce an Isaac.
00:32:14 So, he said, "Those of us who are born again, we should be
00:32:20 children of Sarah or children of the supernatural, but instead
00:32:30 we're satisfied with being children of Hagar, children
00:32:36 of self-effort."
00:32:42 Because the church, they're still children of self-effort.
00:32:46 And Galatians says we should be children of the supernatural.
00:32:50 But then he goes and he warns us, and this is why I'm pretty
00:32:53 content with it.
00:32:54 He said, "As Ishmael persecuted Isaac, so today those who desire
00:32:59 others to live by the law purchase those who live by the
00:33:08 covenant of grace."
00:33:10 That ain't gonna stop.
00:33:12 People get mad when you hear preaching like this because they
00:33:18 see themselves as children of Hagar.
00:33:22 But I'm telling you, if you've made Jesus the Lord of your
00:33:24 life, you're not children of Hagar.
00:33:26 You're not children of self-effort.
00:33:29 You're children of Sarah.
00:33:30 You're children of the supernatural, praise God.
00:33:33 You're children of the Holy Ghost.
00:33:35 [congregation applauding]
00:33:37 Okay, enough of that because now you get a chance to see
00:33:49 what I'm saying.
00:33:51 For some of you who are sitting there like, "Mm-mm,
00:33:53 don't care what you say.
00:33:54 I'm gonna still live by the law."
00:33:57 Praise the Lord.
00:33:58 "Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not commit adultery,
00:34:00 thou shalt not have sex," and you're doing all of them.
00:34:02 See, what you wanna do, you wanna do all of them and then
00:34:07 come over here and get some grace.
00:34:09 All right, let's get to the third one.

00:34:21 So, if you're feeling uncomfortable,

00:34:47 Natural unbelief.
00:34:50 This is big.
00:34:51 Natural unbelief.
00:34:54 Now, again, what is that?
00:34:56 It's when you're moved by your senses more than by what you
00:35:01 believe.
00:35:03 It's when you're moved by your senses.
00:35:05 You're being moved by what you can see than what you believe.
00:35:11 Natural unbelief, being moved more by what you can see than
00:35:15 what you believe.
00:35:17 This is amazing here.
00:35:17 Mark chapter 9, 18.
00:35:20 There's a story about these disciples,
00:35:22 and a man bought his son to cast a demon out of him because it
00:35:28 was really hurting him, and they couldn't do it.
00:35:31 And one of the reasons they couldn't do it,
00:35:34 because they were sitting there looking at this boy do all this
00:35:37 stuff.
00:35:38 Follow me carefully now.
00:35:40 "And wheresoever he taketh him," talking about this boy,
00:35:45 "he tareth him, and he foameth, and he gnashes with his teeth,
00:35:53 he pineth away.
00:35:55 And then I spake to your disciples,
00:35:58 and they, that they should cast him out,
00:36:04 and they could not."
00:36:06 What?
00:36:07 Because they're sitting there looking at this boy doing this
00:36:15 stuff.
00:36:17 All right, now, let's go to Matthew 17,
00:36:21 verse 14 through 21.
00:36:23 Ooh, we going somewhere.

00:36:38 "And when they were come to the multitude,
00:36:41 there came to him a certain man kneeling down to him,
00:36:46 saying, 'Lord, have mercy on my son,
00:36:49 for he's a lunatic and sore vexed.
00:36:52 Oftentimes he falleth into the fire,
00:36:54 oftentimes into the water, and he's demon-controlled.
00:36:58 And I brought him to thy disciples,
00:37:00 and they could not cure him.'"
00:37:05 All right, now, I got a problem with this.
00:37:07 What do you mean, why could they not cure him?
00:37:10 They had the ability to do it.
00:37:14 Hold your place there.
00:37:15 Look at Matthew 10 and then Mark 6, 13.
00:37:19 Matthew 10 in one and Mark 6, 13.
00:37:22 They couldn't cure--this is the second time we see it.
00:37:24 They couldn't?
00:37:25 What do you mean they couldn't?
00:37:26 Look at verse 1.
00:37:27 "And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples,
00:37:30 he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them
00:37:35 out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of
00:37:40 disease."
00:37:41 So it's not like they didn't have the power to do it,
00:37:43 but yet they couldn't.
00:37:46 All right, go to Mark.
00:37:48 Go to Mark because have they ever done it before?
00:37:51 Was this like new the first time?
00:37:53 Mark 6 and 13.
00:37:56 "And they cast out many devils and anointed with awe many that
00:38:02 were sick, and they healed them."

00:38:07 They got power to do it.
00:38:08 God gave it to 'em.
00:38:10 They've done it many other times.
00:38:14 Why were they not able to do it this time?

00:38:22 What is it about your life when you prayed and you got the
00:38:25 answer and you did this and it worked and you sold?
00:38:29 Well, what happened?
00:38:30 It's not like you hadn't done it before.
00:38:32 It's not like you don't have the power.
00:38:34 Huh.
00:38:36 Y'all ready for this?
00:38:40 Go back to Matthew 17.
00:38:42 He said, "I brought them--bought them out to your disciples,
00:38:50 and they could not cure him when they had the power to do it.
00:38:55 Then Jesus answered and said, 'O faithless and perverse
00:38:59 generation, how long shall I be with you?
00:39:01 How long shall I suffer you?'"
00:39:04 I'm not here.
00:39:06 "And Jesus rebuked the devil."
00:39:13 And they had the same power to do it, and you do too.
00:39:18 And he departed out of him, and the child was cured
00:39:24 from that very hour.
00:39:26 I'm telling you what, we getting ready to go.
00:39:28 I ain't gonna be at the house.
00:39:29 I ain't gonna be at the hospital, but you guys will.
00:39:32 And after you hear this today, you ain't gonna sit there and
00:39:34 tolerate what somebody tell you.
00:39:36 Hallelujah, you gonna lay hands on the sick.
00:39:38 You gonna cast out devils.
00:39:40 You're gonna do it 'cause he gave you the power.
00:39:42 Y'all better get ready.
00:39:46 The world changing.
00:39:47 We getting ready to change some world.
00:39:49 We getting ready to make a mark that ain't never be erased.
00:39:51 And it ain't 'cause you gotta call me at 3 o'clock in the
00:39:54 morning, "Pastor, can you come pray?"
00:39:56 You got the same power, the same Holy Ghost, the same promise.
00:40:01 Then came the disciples to Jesus after Jesus had did it.
00:40:06 Then they waited 'til they kind of shielded that guy away from
00:40:13 everybody.
00:40:15 Jesus.
00:40:19 We need to holler at you for a minute, come on.
00:40:26 They said, "Why could not we cast him out?"
00:40:32 I really thought Jesus was gonna respond and say, "Oh, no.
00:40:38 You had the power and you've done it before.
00:40:40 Tell me."
00:40:42 But now he's teaching them something we need to get.
00:40:45 And Jesus said unto them, "Listen, he--" you remember the
00:40:53 question, right?
00:40:54 How come we didn't cast him out?
00:40:55 How come we didn't cast him?
00:40:57 Because of your--because of your--all right, now question.
00:41:04 What is the subject now?
00:41:06 Get your English now.
00:41:07 You got a colon there, so we still gonna be maintaining
00:41:11 unbelief as the issue.
00:41:13 "Because of your unbelief," he said, "for verily I say unto
00:41:19 you, if you have faith as the grain of mustard seed, you
00:41:22 shall say unto this mountain, 'Remove hence to yonder place,
00:41:26 and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you.'"
00:41:29 What he said was, "I don't know why--" he said, "I don't know
00:41:32 why y'all had issue, because all you need is a mustard seed
00:41:35 faith, but it looked like y'all had too much unbelief."
00:41:41 Now, watch this, watch this.
00:41:44 "Then he said, 'How be it then, how be it this kind go forth
00:41:50 not out, but by prayer and fasting?'"
00:41:55 Question, what was he referring to when he said, "this kind"?
00:42:00 He was referring to unbelief 'cause that was the subject.
00:42:07 What has the church declared that he was referring to?
00:42:12 The demon.
00:42:13 So, we spent time in fantasy saying, "We got to go fast and
00:42:18 pray so we can deal with the devil, and you don't need to
00:42:22 fast and pray to deal with the devil because he gave you power
00:42:26 to deal with the devil."
00:42:28 He said, "What you need to fast and pray about is the
00:42:35 unbelief," praise God.
00:42:37 "It's the unbelief that's counteracting your faith.
00:42:40 It's the unbelief that's stopping you from doing what I
00:42:44 said you could do.
00:42:45 It's the unbelief."
00:42:47 It's the unbelief.
00:42:52 You can have faith and unbelief at the same time.
00:43:06 Back up, remember, look what this guy said.
00:43:07 The guy said, "Lord," his father said, "Lord, I believe,
00:43:15 but I don't have my unbelief."
00:43:17 And notice Jesus didn't rebuke him for saying that because
00:43:22 sometimes you have faith and unbelief at the same time.
00:43:28 The problem is you have so much more unbelief than you do faith.
00:43:34 So, go on a fast and pray until you drive that unbelief out of
00:43:39 your thinking.
00:43:40 Go on a fast and pray until you drive that unbelief out of your
00:43:44 spirit.
00:43:45 Go on fast and pray until you don't see nothing but what God
00:43:49 promised, and it shall be done, and it shall be done,
00:43:53 and it shall be done.
00:43:55 He didn't say something was wrong with your faith.
00:44:12 He said, "You had too much unbelief."
00:44:14 And look at where we are tonight.
00:44:19 We get a daily dose of unbelief from the news, from the people,
00:44:24 from people, from doctors, from everybody.
00:44:28 We just feed ourself unbelief that we got so much unbelief in
00:44:32 us, and then we see the Word.
00:44:34 "Well, you know, I ain't talking about that right now.
00:44:36 I'm talking about something real.
00:44:37 I need some money right now."
00:44:39 I was talking about you need some money right now, but you
00:44:45 don't believe that you can trust God with your seed, and so you
00:44:52 refuse to sow because you don't trust God.
00:44:57 So, he sent us a helper.
00:45:03 How you know we're gonna need some help?
00:45:09 Thank God for fasting and praying, but where does the Holy
00:45:15 Ghost come in?
00:45:18 Go to St. John 16 and 8.
00:45:20 Boy, that devil, he ain't got a shot.
00:45:25 If you just--if you do--now, if y'all walk out here today, I
00:45:30 almost feel sorry for the devil this week, 'cause now that you
00:45:36 know, that you know, and something happens, you say,
00:45:38 "Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, not today, not now, devil.
00:45:41 You done messed with the wrong person.
00:45:43 I'm gonna call the fox.
00:45:44 You done messed with the wrong person today.
00:45:46 I know what you're trying to do, but I'm not moved by what I see.
00:45:49 I'm not moved by what I hear.
00:45:51 I'm not moved by the reports of the doctor.
00:45:53 I'm not moved by how much money I got in my bank.
00:45:56 I trust God Almighty.
00:45:58 Don't make me go on a fasting and a praying time.
00:46:01 Don't make me miss breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
00:46:04 Don't make me go in my closet.
00:46:06 "Rebo, sheke, keke, lalabasa.
00:46:09 You don't wanna mess with me today."
00:46:11 All right, now watch this.
00:46:16 When he, the Spirit of truth has come, he will reprove the
00:46:26 world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
00:46:31 Verse 9, he's gonna reprove the world of sin.
00:46:44 Why?
00:46:46 Because they believe not on me.
00:46:54 The Holy Spirit says, "I'm gonna convict, convince, and reprove
00:46:59 those who don't believe on me."
00:47:05 So, the Holy Spirit--this is heavy.
00:47:07 Hear what I'm saying?
00:47:09 The Holy Spirit doesn't convict people of things they do that
00:47:12 are wrong.
00:47:15 We've been taught the Holy Ghost convicts you for doing wrong.
00:47:19 The Holy Spirit does not convict people of things they do that
00:47:24 are wrong, but of the fact that they are not believing on Jesus.
00:47:31 All of your wrongdoing comes as a result of your foundation of
00:47:37 unbelief.
00:47:39 So, he's convicting that you don't believe in Jesus.
00:47:42 Let me give an illustration.
00:47:43 The Holy Spirit will not convict us about a lack of giving, but
00:47:48 he will convict us about a lack of trusting in Jesus with our
00:47:52 money, because your lack of giving is a result of your lack
00:47:57 of trust and unbelief with your money.
00:47:59 That's where that comes from.
00:48:00 He goes to the root of the issue.
00:48:02 Adam and Eve's sin, it wasn't the eating of the fruit, but
00:48:11 refusing to believe in the goodness of God.
00:48:14 In Acts chapter 3 and 5, we keep saying that sin came 'cause they
00:48:19 ate the fruit, and then we call it a apple.
00:48:21 What you gonna call it, watermelon apple?
00:48:22 Well, how?
00:48:23 We keep just adding more fantasy to it, but that's not what
00:48:27 happened.
00:48:29 The sin wasn't the eating of the fruit.
00:48:33 The sin was refusing all of the other trees that God said was
00:48:39 yours, and you refused to believe the goodness of God and
00:48:44 you zeroed in on one fruit tree when you had every tree in the
00:48:48 garden, and the same thing is true today.
00:48:53 You zero in on one little traditional legalistic thing
00:48:58 when God says, "All my goodness is yours.
00:49:02 All my glory is yours.
00:49:04 I give you my name.
00:49:06 I give you my Son.
00:49:07 I give you my Spirit.
00:49:09 I give you every promise," and you focused in on that sin that
00:49:14 you did 20 years ago.
00:49:16 Why is it that God didn't want you to steal?
00:49:24 Because that action reveals a lack of trust in God to be your
00:49:28 source.
00:49:30 You're thinking that sin is stealing.
00:49:35 The sin is I don't believe that God can take care of me, and
00:49:41 if I don't believe God can take care of me, I'm gonna steal.
00:49:45 It is a reflex of your unbelief.
00:49:50 Sin is a reflex of unbelief.
00:49:56 What I don't believe about Jesus, I will now, through my
00:49:59 self-effort, try to do something to make up for it.
00:50:05 So you steal.
00:50:11 You say, "Don't commit adultery."
00:50:13 It's because you don't really believe what he told you about
00:50:19 marriage.
00:50:21 You don't believe that everything you need is right
00:50:24 there with that one woman.
00:50:26 Mm-hmm.
00:50:30 You think 'cause she got long hair that somehow she can
00:50:40 get married better.
00:50:42 But marriage is an ordination that came from God, and within
00:50:49 it is everything you need, your maturity, your growth, your
00:50:54 companionship, your love.
00:50:58 Get your freak on.
00:50:59 All that's in marriage.
00:51:01 All that's in marriage.
00:51:02 You ain't got to go somewhere to get your freak on.
00:51:05 You like 10 steps from the bedroom.
00:51:08 All that is in marriage.
00:51:10 But because you don't believe it, somehow you've accepted
00:51:20 that, "I can't believe that, so I gotta go and do this."
00:51:24 Oh, I have a fantasy of being with three women.
00:51:31 You can't handle the one you got.
00:51:35 The one you got wearing you eyebrow.
00:51:37 You got to stand your tail up.
00:51:39 You understand what I'm saying?
00:51:41 And you talking about some three women.
00:51:43 You better wake up.
00:51:45 Y'all pray my strength in the Lord.
00:51:53 I got a few more minutes.
00:52:01 Go to Hebrews 4:15.
00:52:05 This is very, very, very interesting here.
00:52:09 I am telling you, you can get rid of that big list of all the
00:52:13 things you're supposed to be fighting, and if you just fight
00:52:15 this area of unbelief--all right, watch this.
00:52:20 Hebrews 4:15, "For we have not a high priest which cannot be
00:52:30 filled with the feelings of our infirmities, but Jesus was in
00:52:36 all points tempted, like as we are, yet without sin."
00:52:42 So, I thought, "Well, Bible says," and we love to do that.
00:52:52 We love to say what the Bible says.
00:52:56 The Bible's telling me you just got out of the pool, just still
00:53:01 dripping water, just been baptized, and you're going to
00:53:03 tell me what the Bible tells you.
00:53:04 You got to learn how to read.
00:53:06 So, I thought when it said, "Jesus was in all points
00:53:14 tempted as we are," I'm like, "So, was Jesus tempted to smoke
00:53:21 weed?"
00:53:23 Was Jesus tempted to cuss some of his disciples out?
00:53:29 Was Jesus tempted with sex?
00:53:37 That's what we thought.
00:53:39 Someone says, "Well--" and I'm telling you, "No."
00:53:47 So, what was he tempted with, which is like what we are
00:53:51 tempted with?
00:53:54 See, legalism brought us to that way of thinking, and it's very
00:54:00 clearly stated, Matthew 3:17 and Matthew 4:3, Matthew 3:17 and
00:54:08 Matthew 4:3, "And lo, a voice from heaven saying, 'This is my
00:54:15 beloved Son,'" what did he say?
00:54:17 "'in whom I am well pleased.'"
00:54:20 "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
00:54:23 Matthew chapter 4 and 3, "And when the tempter came to him, he
00:54:29 said, 'If thou be the Son of God, command these stones to be
00:54:35 made bread.'"
00:54:36 Stop.
00:54:39 Now, God said, "This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased."
00:54:43 He said, "If you are, turn the stone into bread."
00:54:49 Here's the temptation.
00:54:56 "I'm tempted to turn this stone into bread to show you that I am
00:55:01 who he said I am, but if I do that, I will be demonstrating
00:55:09 that I didn't believe him when he said that I am the Son of
00:55:15 God, therefore, this temptation, why, I want you to know how
00:55:24 powerful I am.
00:55:28 I can't turn these stone into bread because he already said
00:55:35 I am the beloved Son of God, in whom he is well pleased.
00:55:40 Therefore, I ain't got to prove nothing to you because I believe
00:55:45 God.
00:55:46 I ain't got to prove nothing to you because I believe his
00:55:49 promise, and you and I ain't got to prove nothing to the devil.
00:55:53 When he shows up, I am the righteousness of God.
00:55:56 When he shows up, I am redeemed.
00:55:59 When he shows up, I am exactly who he said I am.
00:56:03 I am the righteousness of God.
00:56:09 Do you see this?
00:56:17 Last week when we asked the question, "Is Jesus enough for
00:56:22 our salvation?"
00:56:23 Every issue was an issue of belief or unbelief.
00:56:27 Blasphemy was an issue of belief or unbelief.
00:56:29 Now it makes sense.
00:56:35 "Lord, what do you want me to do?"
00:56:43 Only believe.
00:56:47 Don't let unbelief be the culprit to show up and stop this
00:56:58 and show up and stop things from working.
00:57:01 And now you go back to the law, trying to accomplish through
00:57:07 your self-effort because you wouldn't believe what he said.
00:57:13 This, the Spirit of God said to me, is the number one
00:57:25 issue that Satan is going to try to amplify as we get closer
00:57:31 to the return of the Lord.
00:57:38 All the things he has to do.
00:57:44 If some preacher that you love falls into sin and now that's an
00:57:47 issue for you to operate in unbelief, well,
00:57:49 that's your fault.
