00:00 I said to myself, there's no way four out of five games the Houston Astros are going
00:06 to win against a red hot Texas Rangers team.
00:09 Fast forward just a few days, we are now finding ourselves in a dead heat 2-2 tie where the
00:14 pitching staffs are going to reset, which means Justin Verlander is going to be on the
00:17 mound to try to take some revenge.
00:19 Yesterday, it seems like the MO in the playoffs in baseball.
00:22 Jump out to an early lead and put yourself on cruise control.
00:25 3-0 for the Houston Astros before the Texas Rangers even got to the plate.
00:30 As I stated before, Mike, even though this game actually ended up 3-3 at one point, you
00:34 can't stop those bats here for the Houston Astros, particularly if you're throwing a
00:38 quote unquote bullpen game.
00:40 If we look at the Rangers starters yesterday, we're taking a look and saying, how long are
00:43 they actually going to go?
00:44 What are the matchups going to be?
00:46 Keeney, who actually had really good numbers, Mike, over the past 30 days, was destroyed.
00:50 Didn't even get out of the first inning.
00:52 Three earned runs here.
00:53 Dunning comes in.
00:54 Two and two-thirds inning.
00:55 Three earned runs here.
00:56 The Astros' bats showed up in a coin flip game here.
00:59 They really took control.
01:01 Yeah, the starters threw a combined three innings in this one.
01:06 So probably not what we anticipated.
01:10 I can't help but keep reiterating the fact that the Houston bats are going now and they
01:16 have this level of momentum.
01:17 Their seventh year in a row in the ALCS.
01:20 They know exactly how to play this type of pressure baseball and not get panicked when
01:25 they're down in a series.
01:27 I think there's something to be said for the experience that they hold.
01:32 Now we obviously know, and we'll end up talking about the NL as well, is that baseball playoffs
01:39 are really wild.
01:40 It doesn't matter who you think is going to win coming in.
01:43 There's a lot of volatility to it.
01:46 And I think we've seen that thus far.
01:47 No home teams have won in this series yet.
01:52 And I think that may continue with Verlander on the bump today.
01:55 The good news for the Rangers is that Jordan Montgomery has pitched well thus far.
02:01 And you hope he can at least match Verlander's performance to some extent.
02:05 But I just worry about the Rangers feeling a little panicked now that they've dropped
02:09 two home games.
