00:00 We are at Nisar Motorworks also known as NMW Racing today to rebuild a Gen 1 KTM 390 Duke.
00:10 So who is NMW Racing? They are one of the best in India for manufacturing any parts
00:36 related to performance or racing for two wheelers and two strokes or four strokes, they have
00:42 the parts you need. Welcome to Drivespark, my name is Vedant Johari and this is NMW Racing.
00:50 So inside the showroom, as you can see there are many bikes over here, X-Pulse, ESD to
00:55 the RX100, RX135 and none of them are stock. Each one has the works done to them, it's
01:02 made to be faster, putting out much more power and just making it one of a kind. As you already
01:08 know, two strokes have the power in them, they have that rawness of them and these are
01:13 just hyped up so much more with a lot more work. For example, the blue RX135 that you
01:18 see here has a flower head added onto it. This one over here has all the works and the
01:23 ignition coils, spark plug, the suspensions are redone, it has a ported engine, a bored
01:29 engine, you name it, this bike has the works done to it. And as you can see, variety of
01:34 options available for anything you need, right from your clutch plates to your timing belts
01:41 and some of these parts are even manufactured by NMW Racing, such as all these yellow and
01:47 black pieces that you can see here, all of them are NMW Racing's manufactured, various
01:52 countries in Asia such as Thailand, Indonesia, some even from India and they also are dealers
01:58 for a really big brand, some of you may know it's Simota. Most of Simota products are,
02:04 they deal with and anything performance related, it's all here, it's all available for whichever
02:11 bike you have. And where's NMW Racing located? They're located in Bangalore, so if you need
02:16 anything, you can be sure the parts are available here.
02:24 So some of the NMW Racing parts are right here, like valves, the camshaft, all performance
02:31 camshafts to your performance clutch plates, almost everything they have here and if you
02:35 need anything, I'm pretty sure they can make it and source it for you. Also over here,
02:40 as you can see, there are brake levers, brake calipers, frame sliders and here are a bunch
02:46 of two-strokes, so NMW Racing, they specialise in two-strokes. These are some of the parts
02:51 of two-strokes that are available at NMW Racing. Here, available are also universal air filters
02:57 that we have over here, which you can fit onto almost any bike as the name says it.
03:02 Also, they are Simota dealers as mentioned before and here are some of the air filters
03:07 available from there and what's special about these air filters, at the back, it shows you
03:11 the performance that you get from these filters through a dyno run done with the motorcycle
03:17 running on the Simota air filters. So, it's not just for namesake purposes that they're
03:22 giving this, it's actually gone through the R&D, gone through all the work to show how
03:27 these filters actually build on performance.
03:29 So here, they have a bunch of performance-related parts for any motorcycle, two-strokes, four-strokes,
03:41 you name it, they have it. Here are the engine bulkheads that they have and right from the
03:47 interceptor to your KTMs to your R15s in here are all your valve gates, your clutch belt,
03:52 it all just has the works to make your bike a whole lot more powerful, a whole lot more
03:57 faster than it already is. The work that's done is super neat, really nice finish on
04:01 the parts. So, this is basically the shop floor of NMW Racing. Now, let's go look at
04:07 the bike that we're ready to get fixed, the Gen 1 KTM Duke 390.
04:12 So, now we're in the main garage of NMW Racing and this is the KTM Duke 390 that we are getting
04:28 ready. So, what happened to the bike? The engine pretty much just seized, there was
04:34 a knocking sound coming from the engine while he was riding and then suddenly one day the
04:39 engine just gave up and so let's take a look at what happened to the engine. We have
04:44 it over here ready and let's see what exactly has gone wrong with it.
04:48 So, this is what happened to the KTM Duke 390 engine. As you can see, the valve guides
05:00 gone and got stuck into the piston and so how does that happen? So, this is your valve
05:05 guide, basically goes through cycles, one cycle down, one cycle up. So, due to the lack
05:11 of oil in the engine, the valve guide went down, got stuck and with each cycle of the
05:16 piston, it just kept hitting it. So, every time it came down, it would get stuck and
05:20 the piston would hit it. So, that's why you can see near the place where the valve
05:24 guide got stuck in the piston, there are a lot of harks over here, like a lot of, you
05:29 can literally see it's been beaten and then eventually the valve guide got loose, broke
05:34 and then during one of the cycles, it got stuck into the piston. So, that is pretty
05:40 much what happened to the 390 Duke and that's why the engine ceased. So, stay tuned for
05:44 further updates on the build of the 390 and be sure to see the final product of what is
05:51 ready on the Gen 1 KTM 390 Duke.
05:54 So, always make sure to have a good technician that you know to fix your bike and always
06:03 do the basic needs, top up your engine oil, top up your coolant levels the moment you
06:07 feel it drop. Otherwise, you can lead to issues like this, which even the smallest problem
06:13 could lead to something really expensive to fix. So, this is pretty much the engine of
06:19 the KTM Duke 390, stay tuned. My name is Vedant Johari, signing out.
