00:00 by-elections are always tricky, particularly for serving governments, but it is disappointing
00:03 because we had fantastic local candidates, they were both brilliant. But on the doorsteps
00:07 there, there were very, very few people who were switching over, there was no real love
00:11 for Labour. People stayed at home and what people want is for us to focus on the five
00:17 priorities we have to share, we have to deliver. We still have to demonstrate to them that
00:22 it's worth them getting out of their house and voting Conservative like they usually
00:26 do. But this, if you look at the details, this did not show a swing to Labour, it showed
00:32 Conservative voters not coming out.
