Notre Dame Offense Line Must Keep Improving

00:05 it's gonna be about consistency up front.

00:08 I wanna see this offensive line play physical football the next four games.

00:13 I don't care who they're playing.

00:15 I don't care if that other team stinks, if that other team's good.

00:19 I wanna see them play with a mindset and a standard of we're gonna come here,

00:23 we're gonna bust you up for 60 minutes.

00:26 They need to be more consistent with their technique and their assignments.

00:30 Just consistency, consistency of effort, consistency of execution,

00:34 consistent finish.

00:36 When this line does that, it's pretty good.

00:39 I personally would make a change at left guard.

00:43 I think there's a limitation there and we've seen about as good as it's gonna get.

00:48 But the fact of the matter is, that's not really my call.

00:54 And so I'm not gonna spend a lot of time on that like I have in the past.

00:57 I'm not gonna be able to influence at all.

00:59 I would put start Billy Shrouth moving forward at the very least rotate him.

01:03 But whoever you play, Joe Rudolph needs to show that he can develop a consistent

01:07 offensive line.

01:08 And an offensive line that plays with the kind of physicality and

01:11 power that we saw last year's offensive line play with down the stretch.

01:16 Cuz if you remember, last year's offensive line had sort of similar issues.

01:22 Some games they look like world beaters, other games, not as good.

01:28 But down the stretch, the offensive line was much better,

01:31 had most of its best games down the stretch.

01:34 And it forced teams to say, hey, we've gotta load the box against this team.
