00:02 - How you doing today, Ms. Parris?
00:16 - I'm good, how are you?
00:18 - I'm doing well, doing well.
00:20 So happy to be able to speak with you.
00:22 - Same, thank you.
00:24 - So I'd like to start by asking,
00:26 I just wanna start with a bang.
00:27 Episode five was a major,
00:30 well, this past episode was a major turning point,
00:32 but the same can be said for episode five.
00:34 Carol Danvers was for the first time,
00:37 well, Captain Marvel was name dropped in episode five.
00:40 - I'd argue that Captain Marvel came close.
00:42 - Monica's response was a little interesting.
00:44 - We are not talking about her, we are talking about Wanda.
00:48 - So I just wanna come on and ask,
00:50 what are Monica's feelings towards Carol Danvers?
00:54 I think that, you know, as we move forward,
00:57 hopefully these things will be addressed.
01:03 You know, Monica has been announced to be joining Carol
01:07 and Ms. Marvel in Captain Marvel 2,
01:10 so that offers us a lot of space
01:12 to explore that relationship further.
01:15 I don't wanna give anything away, Eric.
01:17 You're like, tell me now, what do you feel?
01:21 - I know, just eager, just eager.
01:23 (laughing)
01:24 - Well, I do wanna ask this,
01:26 so moving over to episode six,
01:28 there was a pretty big betrayal.
01:30 Hayward pretty much just ousted Monica, Jimmy,
01:33 and Darcy off the sort base,
01:36 basically taking them out of the equation.
01:37 - Get her off my base, now, all of them.
01:41 - You know, Monica and Hayward
01:43 were established as colleagues,
01:44 so in your mind, was Monica surprised by that betrayal
01:47 or was she prepared, do you think?
01:50 - I mean, even when she's walking out,
01:52 she says he was looking for a reason to sideline us,
01:55 so I think, you know,
01:57 Monica's just coming back from the blip,
01:58 so she's getting back to finding her feet again,
02:02 finding out she's not used to working missing persons cases.
02:06 She made that very clear when he put her on the case,
02:09 like, this is not what I do,
02:11 so I think she's finding her feet
02:12 with her amazing colleagues, Darcy and Jimmy,
02:17 and so they're figuring it out together,
02:20 so I think she started to feel that something was amiss,
02:24 and then, you know, when he put the missile on the drone,
02:29 like, what are you doing?
02:31 This is not what we talked about,
02:32 so I think she's felt it coming.
02:34 - Don't use the last five years as an excuse to be a coward.
02:38 - It's devastating either way,
02:40 just, you know, for her to be such this driving force
02:42 and then just be pushed aside,
02:43 'cause she's awesome, Monica.
02:45 - Thank you, I think she's awesome, too.
02:48 But yeah, you know, that trio, the Jimmy, Monica,
02:53 Darcy trio, I think they'll find a way
02:55 to figure some things out.
02:59 I don't think they'll take it so easy.
03:01 - Oh, I have no doubts, and one thing, Monica,
03:04 we've only gotten to know this Monica
03:06 for just a certain amount of time,
03:07 but one thing I love is that she's already proven herself
03:11 a hero in so many respects, and I wanna ask,
03:13 even after Darcy tells her, you know,
03:15 her body chemistry has been changed now,
03:17 and she's still willing to go back into the hex,
03:20 what does that say about Monica's heroism,
03:22 that she's willing to go back in
03:24 despite the medical advice she's been given?
03:26 - I think that it tells you how compassionate this woman is.
03:33 For Monica to have lost her mom
03:36 is a huge, huge, devastating blow for her,
03:42 and to then not be there when her mother passed,
03:45 I think she's dealing with her own grief
03:49 in such a way that it makes her more able
03:53 to be more compassionate to Wanda,
03:56 and so feeling that level of compassion for Wanda,
04:01 I think does drive her to say, you know what,
04:03 I don't want anyone to go through
04:06 what I've gone through alone,
04:10 that there needs, that she is,
04:13 this is high-level trauma and grief,
04:16 and I have to help her,
04:18 and so the fact that she's willing to risk her body,
04:22 put her body on the line,
04:24 I do think says to us that this woman
04:26 is just extremely compassionate
04:28 and willing to help whenever she can, however she can.
04:33 - I know what Wanda's feeling,
04:36 and I won't stop until I help her.
04:39 - I totally agree, and it's so great
04:41 just to see these different sides of Monica,
04:42 and I love her.
04:43 That is my time with you.
04:45 I'm so happy for you.
04:47 I'm so, I love this show,
04:48 and I can't wait to see how you continue
04:50 your journey into the MCU.
04:51 Thank you so much for taking the time
04:52 to talk to Cinema Boy, Ms. Fares.
04:54 - Thank you so much, Eric.
04:56 Thank you.
