00:02 We are delighted to see the first Tesla EV car showroom
00:16 being officially declared open on this auspicious day.
00:21 This, the coming of Tesla to Malaysia,
00:25 is a vote of confidence to us, which
00:28 points to be the gateway to Southeast Asia.
00:32 According to the World Economic Forum,
00:35 ASEAN, by 2030, is going to be the fourth largest
00:39 economy in the world, with 680 million population.
00:44 Malaysia is aiming to be the EV hub of the region.
00:49 Therefore, not only we welcome all EV manufacturers,
00:55 including, of course, Tesla, the established brand,
00:58 to come to Malaysia, not only to set up the showrooms.
01:04 And in future, we hope that Malaysia
01:07 will be the second mega super factory of Asia.
01:11 Tesla has their assembly plant in so many countries.
01:15 But for in Asia, they only have one in Shanghai.
01:18 And in Southeast Asia, this will be the future.
01:21 And we hope Tesla will work together
01:25 and Malaysia government is fully committed
01:29 to continue to attract high capital intensive,
01:34 high technology, renewable energy companies to set up
01:40 their base in Malaysia.
01:42 And we are here to encourage more people to go for green,
01:47 to go for more sustainable energy.
01:50 Government are fully committed.
01:52 That's why last week, when Prime Minister
01:55 Yama Muhammad Datu Sri Anwar Ibrahim announced his budget,
01:59 again, EV has been given a lot of incentive,
02:04 including fully exempted duty, import duty of EV cars.
02:09 We are aiming to set up 10,000 EV charging
02:12 station in our country.
02:15 And we need to work very hard as time is running.
02:18 By 2025, we need to have 10,000 EV charging station.
02:22 Now we only have 1,267.
02:26 There are many more times to go.
02:29 So let us work together to realize this mission.
02:32 And we welcome Tesla to set up more and invest more
02:36 in Malaysia.
