00:26 The purpose of Kibera Fashion Week is to create opportunities
00:29 for the young kids that are growing up right now.
00:31 Because we grew up in an environment where we never
00:34 used to have things like that.
00:35 And furthermore, we want to get people outside the world
00:38 that we also have style.

01:07 Yeah, African fashion is special and it's coming up.
01:09 So I think we need to promote it with such events
01:13 so that people know that we can be creative
01:15 and you can come up with new ideas.
01:17 And it's not just about Paris or Milan.
01:20 Kenya, also in Africa in general,
01:22 has talented designers.
01:25 And we can have forums like this to showcase
01:27 such designs to the world.

01:50 Kibera is full of style.
01:51 People here are full of style.
01:52 They just don't get the opportunity
01:53 to show it out there.
01:54 So through this one, people are able now to see it
01:57 the right way.
01:57 People can be able to engage with us in the right manner.
02:00 And through this one, we want to be able to at least inspire
02:03 people in Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week
02:06 through this so we can also be able to create collaborations
02:08 whereby designers from the communities like this
02:10 can be given opportunities to go and showcase their work.
