00:00 And as they get their name, they actually spit their venom.
00:03 (dinosaur growling)
00:06 This is a species that you do not wanna get bitten by
00:10 all the way out here.
00:12 I'm gonna attempt to pick it up at the moment.
00:16 Oh!
00:18 We are currently staying at a remote village
00:20 deep in the jungle of Borneo.
00:22 We've come out here to find some of the deadliest animals
00:25 on earth that are said to inhabit
00:27 the surrounding rainforests.
00:29 In last week's episode, we found so many different species
00:32 while cruising up the river.
00:34 I got bitten by a venomous snake.
00:36 But still not a species that you wanna
00:37 get a big dose of venom injected by.
00:41 Oh, there we go.
00:42 It just got me on the finger.
00:43 And our guide even got bitten by a saltwater crocodile.
00:47 I think we might've got that.
00:48 - Yeah, we got that.
00:49 - Yeah.
00:50 - One more, one more.
00:54 One more please.
00:55 (water splashing)
00:58 - Oh!
00:59 - Do you think when you wrapped the first part, did you?
01:07 It seems that every day has been more intense
01:10 than the last over here.
01:11 We have some pretty wild things planned for this episode.
01:14 Let's get into it.
01:26 Another day out here in Borneo.
01:28 We're going on another big adventure.
01:30 Hari's hand turned out to be okay.
01:32 We wrapped it up, disinfected it.
01:34 Okay, Hari?
01:35 Okay.
01:36 About five minutes ago,
01:37 we saw a big croc cruising right past us down here.
01:39 People were swimming in this area earlier this morning.
01:42 But yeah, we're gonna go out,
01:43 see if we can find some orangutans, king cobras,
01:46 big pythons, maybe eat some bush tucker out there.
01:48 And yeah, see what happens.
01:50 (upbeat music)
01:52 - Bye guys.
02:04 - Bye.
02:05 - Bye.
02:06 - Bye.
02:07 (boat engine rumbling)
02:10 - Bye bye.
02:11 - Bye.
02:11 - We've got about an hour boat trip ahead of us.
02:16 Then we're gonna get to the spot
02:17 where we're gonna be scouting around the wildlife.
02:19 (boat engine rumbling)
02:23 - Hey, hey, hey, hey.
02:41 (laughs)
02:42 - A bit more.
02:43 - There we go, yes.
02:44 - Keep him away from me.
02:45 - Okay.
02:46 - It's all right.
02:48 - You wanna get up in here?
02:50 - Look.
02:54 - Whoa.
02:55 - Hey, hey.
03:00 (laughs)
03:02 - Crazy man.
03:05 (laughs)
03:06 - Oop, oop, oop, oop, you bite me.
03:08 (laughs)
03:09 - I don't want to bother you, my brother.
03:11 So let's go, okay?
03:13 Sorry, I'm so sorry.
03:15 - I want you, yes.
03:16 - Mwah.
03:17 - Okay.
03:18 Come back.
03:20 Beautiful, beautiful.
03:23 Good job, Diaz.
03:26 (laughs)
03:27 Let's keep going.
03:27 So as you can see, there's so many animals
03:29 cruising up this creek.
03:31 We just got out of the main system,
03:32 up to this little creek flowing through the jungle.
03:35 We've already found that little mangrove cat snake,
03:37 the same one that bit me yesterday.
03:40 I don't think I've gotten venomated by it, though.
03:42 They really need to chew their venom in,
03:44 in order to envenomate their prey or me.
03:47 (dramatic music)
03:49 Here we go.
03:52 (water splashing)
03:55 We're so deep in the jungle right now
04:06 that we're having to cut our own path through
04:08 to find these animals.
04:09 Lots of orangutans around this area.
04:11 So I'm just following,
04:13 keeping my eye out for snakes.
04:14 King cobras do live out here.
04:16 And if you got bitten by one of them,
04:18 you're not making it back.
04:19 (dramatic music)
04:22 So this right here is a baby king cobra
04:32 out here in the jungle.
04:33 So cool to find one this size.
04:35 What we're looking for is one a little bit bigger than this.
04:37 But what this means is there's a mother around this area.
04:40 The boys have told me that the cobras in this area
04:43 are pretty territorial.
04:44 So you might have a chance at finding this one's mom
04:47 or another one sitting around this area.
04:49 Now a cobra of this size is still venomous.
04:51 It still has fangs long enough to penetrate my skin.
04:54 So I can't get bitten.
04:55 It'd be the same as getting bitten
04:56 by a big king cobra out here in the bush.
04:58 Obviously at this size,
04:59 their venom glands are a lot smaller than the big ones,
05:02 but still they have a venom that can kill 20 adult men.
05:05 Absolutely crazy snake.
05:07 And you can see him standing up like that.
05:09 Half of his body is actually off the floor right now,
05:12 looking me dead in the eyes.
05:13 How they get that little hood thing
05:15 is they flatten out their bones,
05:16 flatten out the muscles in their body.
05:18 Imagine this cobra right here,
05:20 what about five meters long,
05:21 standing half of its body,
05:23 two and a half meters up into the air.
05:24 It'd be absolutely crazy to see.
05:26 - Yeah, better, okay.
05:30 - But yeah, just picking this snake up right now.
05:33 That is absolutely beautiful.
05:35 You can see him standing up in that little hood position,
05:37 looking at the camera.
05:38 I'm always amazed coming out here to Indonesia
05:42 and finding these snakes.
05:43 Done it a few times over the past few years,
05:46 and that right there is just so cool.
05:48 The king cobra out here in the jungle of Borneo,
05:51 highly venomous species,
05:53 and a species that carries a massive energy about it as well.
05:56 When you get a big king cobra looking at you in the face,
05:59 it's a pretty crazy feeling to say the least.
06:01 And hopefully we're gonna find some bigger ones
06:03 over this little trip.
06:04 But yeah, look at that, juvenile king cobra.
06:08 All right, we'll let him go, mate.
06:11 See ya.
06:11 (suspenseful music)
06:14 - This dude tastes like water.
06:32 That's probably what it is.
06:33 (laughing)
06:40 (speaking in foreign language)
06:44 - They did a research about this type of roots,
06:47 and they say there's a special thing from this roots
06:50 could cure the cancer.
06:52 I mean, our people here always using a hairball, you know,
06:56 because we don't have a hospital long time ago.
06:58 So we just have this for cure our disease.
07:02 (thudding)
07:04 - Too many.
07:05 (speaking in foreign language)
07:09 (suspenseful music)
07:12 - So this just in here is a big reticulated python.
07:20 Another species that we were looking for.
07:22 We've just gone for a bit of a walk
07:23 through the bush at the moment.
07:24 There's some langurs over there
07:26 that we're hopefully gonna film in a second.
07:28 Take my bag off and get him out.
07:31 Look at that.
07:39 Big retic.
07:39 There we go.
07:48 Take a look at him.
07:50 Look at the colors on him.
07:52 That is a beautiful snake right there.
07:56 (cheering)
08:04 There we go.
08:05 All right, so we got him behind the head.
08:07 These snakes are constrictors.
08:09 So what they do, if they get a hold of their prey,
08:11 they'll wrap it up.
08:12 He'll start tensing all of his muscles.
08:14 But yeah, we need to get this python out of here.
08:16 So we'll go release him in another place
08:18 where he won't come in contact with humans.
08:20 No one will kill him and no one will get bitten.
08:23 (speaking in foreign language)
08:26 (speaking in foreign language)
08:30 So this is the durian fruit.
08:41 The orangutans absolutely love it out here.
08:43 There's a tree just down there
08:44 that a big orangutan was filmed
08:46 eating a bunch of durians in.
08:48 And the locals love it as well.
08:49 (speaking in foreign language)
08:55 (cheering)
08:57 Little sun shower out here in Borneo.
09:06 We're on the way back now.
09:08 It started raining.
09:09 Now good, mate.
09:10 (cheering)
09:14 (cheering)
09:16 (motor running)
09:19 (motor running)
09:22 (speaking in foreign language)
09:39 (laughing)
09:45 (laughing)
09:47 (speaking in foreign language)
09:53 (laughing)
09:57 Welcome to Borneo, guys.
10:00 (singing in foreign language)
10:14 Before we deal with these really venomous snakes
10:17 over here in Indonesia,
10:18 our guide has just come to say a little prayer
10:20 so that no one gets injured or hurt by these animals.
10:23 And yeah, just have some beautiful experiences.
10:25 Stay safe while we're over here in Borneo.
10:27 Obviously, we know that the animals
10:29 that we're dealing with are highly venomous animals.
10:32 Over here, there's no anti-venom for the king cobras.
10:35 So if you get bitten,
10:36 there's a very low chance that you're gonna survive.
10:38 We know that.
10:39 We're gonna be careful.
10:40 We're not gonna take too many risks while dealing with them,
10:43 but I'm keen to show you this beautiful species up close.
10:46 Let's see if we can find any.
10:47 (dramatic music)
10:53 Take a look at that right there.
11:09 This is a massive snake.
11:10 This is what we were looking for
11:12 out here in the jungle of Borneo.
11:14 Are you kidding me right now?
11:16 Look how big this animal is.
11:18 We'll just bring him back out
11:20 into a bit of a better place.
11:22 So this right here is a massive king cobra
11:25 out here in the jungle of Borneo.
11:27 And he's looking at me right now.
11:28 He was just eyeing off my cameraman.
11:30 This is a species that you do not wanna get bitten by
11:33 all the way out here.
11:34 The largest venomous snake in the world
11:37 with massive venom glands,
11:38 big enough to take down a fully grown elephant
11:41 and about 20 blokes my size as well.
11:43 - Okay.
11:44 - Where you going to you?
11:46 And it's so epic to share this experience with this snake
11:53 as I've got him by the tail right now.
11:58 The reason why I've worked with these snakes before
12:00 and can actually kiss them on the back of the head
12:02 and touch them on the back of the head
12:04 is 'cause they go into a trance-like state
12:06 when you're working with them.
12:07 And he's in it at the moment,
12:09 looking directly at my cameraman.
12:10 But this experience right here
12:20 is what I wanted to have out here in the jungle of Borneo.
12:27 And you can't lose focus for one second.
12:29 I know people who have been bitten by these snakes out here,
12:33 much smaller than this, and they have died.
12:36 So these king cobras are cannibalistic snakes.
12:40 They're out here in the jungles of Borneo in Indonesia
12:43 looking for other species to eat, even smaller king cobras.
12:46 Years ago, we actually filmed an encounter
12:49 where a big king cobra, about four meters long,
12:51 took down a smaller spitting cobra
12:53 and ate it out in the bush of Indonesia.
12:56 Was one of the craziest experiences to ever see
12:58 and this guy is a lot bigger
13:00 than that big four meter king cobra.
13:02 I'm estimating him to be around five meters long.
13:06 And he's not a small five meter long snake.
13:08 He's very thick,
13:09 bigger than a lot of the big pythons that are out here.
13:14 So I'll stretch him out.
13:16 Just being very gentle with this animal.
13:19 Look, his tail comes all the way out here.
13:21 That is close to five meters.
13:23 Whoa.
13:24 Take a look at that.
13:27 As long as he's striking that way, it's okay.
13:33 Now I truly believe that you can have a deeper connection
13:36 than what meets the eye with an animal like this.
13:39 Me with snakes mostly,
13:41 but that still doesn't mean
13:43 that this snake isn't gonna bite me.
13:44 You gotta be careful.
13:45 And I don't think anyone should put themselves
13:47 in dangerous situations,
13:49 but this is what I live for right here.
13:51 Sharing this experience with this big king cobra
13:55 out here in the jungle of Borneo.
13:57 'Cause they're the world's biggest venomous snake.
13:59 They carry a huge presence about them.
14:01 And a five meter king cobra like this,
14:04 looking at me dead in the eyes,
14:05 is something pretty crazy
14:07 and something that I'm so grateful
14:09 to experience in this life.
14:10 Okay.
14:17 So I'm gonna attempt to pick it up at the moment.
14:22 This big snake.
14:24 And what I wanna show you is the reason
14:28 why people can kiss these snakes on the back of the head.
14:31 And touch them.
14:32 Is because they go into a trance-like state
14:35 when they're fixated on something right in front of it.
14:39 So he's fixated on my guide at the moment.
14:43 And what I'm gonna do is slowly pick it up.
14:48 Being very careful.
14:51 Oh, take a look at that.
14:55 You're all right, buddy.
14:57 Big king cobra.
15:02 Out here in the jungle of Borneo.
15:04 Look at that.
15:05 That is a magnificent snake.
15:07 And a snake big enough to take down an elephant
15:11 with the amount of venom that it carries
15:13 in its venom glands.
15:14 And a snake big enough to take down 20 of me.
15:17 You can't get bitten by this snake out here.
15:21 Highly venomous species.
15:22 (birds chirping)
15:25 What a beautiful animal.
15:33 An absolutely amazing animal.
15:37 And this experience right here is what I wanted to have.
15:40 Coming to the wild lands of Borneo.
15:43 Out here in the jungle, looking for these snakes.
15:45 Looking for orangutans.
15:47 Looking for all these animals.
15:48 And I'm gonna remember this moment right here.
15:51 But, gotta be very careful.
15:53 All right, buddy.
15:56 A five meter king cobra.
15:58 The biggest venomous snake in the world.
16:00 And a magnificent one at that.
16:02 Can't even fit my hands around it, this snake's so big.
16:05 I'm gonna put him back down.
16:07 (clapping)
16:14 (suspenseful music)
16:17 (suspenseful music)
16:20 Make sure the snake's focused.
16:33 (suspenseful music)
16:36 (suspenseful music)
16:39 (whispering)
16:41 (suspenseful music)
17:08 So this is why they call it a rain forest.
17:11 Out here in Borneo, we've been looking for snakes all day.
17:13 We've found so many cool species.
17:16 It's just started to rain at the moment.
17:17 And we're hopefully gonna find some more snakes.
17:19 We're gonna head back to the car at the moment.
17:21 Go to a different location.
17:23 If it stops raining, go out and film some more animals.
17:27 But yeah, not bad.
17:37 It's a spitting cobra.
17:39 And as they get their name, they actually spit their venom.
17:43 He's a beautiful snake though,
17:44 that's why I'm wearing these glasses.
17:45 I'd almost rather just get spat on in the eyes
17:47 than wear these glasses on camera.
17:49 But you can go blind if this snake spits its venom
17:52 towards your eyes.
17:53 They can also bite, so he's not an animal
17:56 that I wanna get tagged by either.
17:58 (rain pattering)
18:00 And he's looking at me.
18:14 I'm gonna put my glasses on a bit better
18:16 because in a minute, he might spit his venom.
18:19 There we go.
18:20 A little bit just got on my lip.
18:22 That king cobra that we caught earlier on,
18:25 not too far from here,
18:27 would have eaten plenty of spitting cobras in its day.
18:30 It's one of their favorite food to eat.
18:32 I'll just get down eye to eye with this snake at the moment.
18:35 We were cruising this road,
18:37 we just found that king cobra
18:39 and that big reticulated python out in the jungle.
18:41 It started pouring down rain
18:43 and we've just found this little spitting cobra right here.
18:45 We're heading to a place now
18:46 where we're gonna be looking
18:47 for a really rare species of snake.
18:49 But to find this little guy on the way there is pretty cool.
18:52 He just spat venom on me again.
18:53 We're just gonna get him off the road at the moment
18:55 and keep going on our mission.
18:57 So this right here is the red-headed krait.
19:05 Believe it or not, we've been working with king cobras,
19:09 we've been working with a lot of venomous snakes
19:11 over this trip.
19:13 And this one right here is the deadliest.
19:16 It's not a snake that you wanna get bitten by, by any means.
19:19 And we've just found him cruising in these leaves right here
19:22 just over to my left.
19:24 You're right, buddy.
19:26 Very intense moment.
19:28 Almost just as intense as that experience
19:31 that we had with the king cobra.
19:33 You can see at the front there,
19:36 they've got that orange head.
19:38 And if you follow that dark body,
19:40 that black and white body all the way up to their tail,
19:43 their tail's even brighter.
19:44 Venom is such a crazy thing when it comes to animals,
19:48 thinking that this little thing right here
19:50 injects you with a liquid
19:52 and even though it's not that much,
19:54 it can kill you.
19:55 There are so many different species
19:58 of beautiful snakes around the world,
20:00 but this one right here tops it off for me.
20:02 That's such a gorgeous looking snake.
20:04 In the elapid family, the red-headed krait,
20:07 one of the most venomous species
20:11 you can find out here in Borneo.
20:12 But this one has calmed right down.
20:16 We were just walking out here and found him.
20:19 And what a gorgeous snake they are.
20:21 Take a look at that animal right there.
20:23 It's been a really intense day.
20:26 We've been going all day,
20:27 catching so many different snakes,
20:29 king cobras, massive reticulated pythons,
20:32 and now this red-headed krait right here.
20:34 But I think a good thing to acknowledge
20:36 is when you're getting tired,
20:38 when your body's sore,
20:39 you should stop dealing with these snakes
20:41 because that's when accidents happen.
20:43 That's when you can get bitten.
20:45 Mate, my body's killing me.
20:47 I'm really tired.
20:48 But what an awesome experience with this animal.
20:50 We're gonna let him go and keep going on our mission.
20:53 That's been pretty cool.
20:54 This is truly what I live for right here.
21:06 Not only these moments spent with these animals,
21:09 but this whole experience over here in Borneo
21:12 with my now best mates.
21:14 If you want to go on an adventure like this over in Borneo,
21:17 these are your guys.
21:18 Make sure to message Hari or Diaz on Instagram.
21:22 It's seriously been a trip of the lifetime
21:24 and we've got some crazy things planned
21:26 for the next few episodes.
21:28 I know some of these adventures
21:29 seem like they are filled with a lot of danger,
21:32 but I hope you can see the amount of beauty,
21:35 freedom, and connection that I experience
21:38 while on these travels.
21:39 See you next week.
