00:12 Hello and welcome to this very special finale of Fantasy Booking Warfare.
00:19 We have got the winner of the Fantasy Booking Warfare tournament.
00:23 He beat Alex, Queen of the Ring.
00:25 He beat Luke Owen.
00:26 He beat Laurie Blake.
00:28 He is the Fantasy Booking Warfare champion, Oli Da-Da-Da-Davis.
00:37 Look at him dab away.
00:39 He is dabbing Kato right there.
00:41 How are you feeling?
00:43 Not confident.
00:44 Of all the bookings I've done for this Fantasy Booking Warfare tournament, this is the least
00:50 confident I've been.
00:51 It was a real struggle.
00:53 I think Adam's going to destroy me.
00:55 Well, let me take you back to January 2020, a time when bats didn't seem all that scary.
01:05 The word COVID-19 was just hearsay amongst those people in far off countries.
01:13 And a young Adam Blampied walked into the WrestleTalk offices and said, "Guys, I'm not
01:19 going to introduce myself because you already know who I am.
01:22 And now it's time for me to batter Oli Davis at Fantasy Booking because I'm brilliant at
01:27 it."
01:28 It's Adam Blampied.
01:30 How are you feeling?
01:32 Hello.
01:33 You may be a king, but what is a king next to a god?
01:38 I'm going to beat you probably anyway, just because I do the bookings.
01:43 You could literally wipe the floor with me.
01:45 And you might.
01:46 I've taken a direction with this where I could legitimately lose.
01:51 And that would depend on your audience not going with the simple popular vote.
01:58 Which, well, you're here, Oli, so that's not hugely likely.
02:03 I don't know if that's completely fair.
02:05 I think Oli had a better booking than Alex.
02:08 I'm not sure you could say he had a better booking than my gut angle.
02:11 It's pretty flawless when you think about it.
02:15 And I think he did better than Oli did.
02:17 Better than Laurie did in the finals.
02:19 I think Oli's got here on his own merits.
02:23 I think you're being very unfair to your challenger.
02:29 I'm just doing my best to add a bit of intrigue in it.
02:32 Thing is, as long as you release the vote at the same time as the video, I've already
02:37 won.
02:38 Hey, Adam, I've heard that there's no problem with doing that.
02:42 I don't think a single person has said that we should delay it by an hour.
02:46 Shut up, Laurie.
02:47 I don't know anything.
02:48 Right, okay, well, let's get into this, because your topic was quite, you know, this all started
02:56 from the fact that you two fancy booked the Royal Rumble 2020, and now here we are.
03:02 It is twice in a lifetime.
03:03 So your topic was twice in a lifetime, which we all know was so good for CM Punk.
03:11 Oli, what was your, you said to me last week, I don't remember how the story went the first
03:17 time round, and I don't really know what to do now.
03:20 How did you feel going into this?
03:23 Not confident.
03:24 I couldn't find a hook.
03:25 I think I'm good at booking stuff that hasn't happened yet.
03:28 I haven't actually booked anything from the past.
03:33 I find it quite limiting.
03:35 And yes, all those things do not fill me with confidence here.
03:40 Plus, I couldn't really remember what happened.
03:43 I just remember it being rubbish.
03:45 So what you're saying is you were trying to look for a hook, but you couldn't put a hook
03:48 into the storyline, which really would have given you some votes.
03:51 Yeah, it really would.
03:52 I mean, part of me was like, maybe I could just say in my fantasy book, second in a lifetime
03:58 never happened.
04:00 And it's happening now in 2021.
04:03 He'd have been 10, send in hook.
04:07 Adam, what about you?
04:09 Famously, you loved this storyline.
04:11 Oh, man, I've been looking forward to this.
04:14 No, no, this, yeah, this is it.
04:15 It was a load of old ****.
04:17 So I, but also it's very, very difficult.
04:21 So call me controversial and this is not too much of a spoiler, but I haven't really rebooked
04:27 twice in a lifetime.
04:29 I've rebooked WrestleMania 29 because I don't think you can do twice in a lifetime.
04:36 I think fundamentally the concept is broken.
04:39 So that may come to bite me in the ****.
04:47 So your method of doing this was to ignore the plot you were given and just do your own
04:53 thing.
04:54 I've rebooked twice in a lifetime.
04:55 I've rebooked it so it doesn't happen.
04:57 Hmm.
04:58 Well, I could have booked it for 2022.
05:04 I mean, you could, yeah, having said that, you could have done.
05:06 Now that we think about it, if Adam was just like, oh, I'm just going to rebook.
05:08 Do you want to do WrestleMania X7 while you're at it?
05:11 I rebooked the year.
05:12 I rebooked the thing that happened.
05:14 I said, this doesn't happen.
05:16 This happens instead.
05:18 Well, I mean, you're going to win anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
05:22 So like, no, no, come on now.
05:24 That's fair.
05:25 That's fair.
05:26 I just, I've just like, this is a fundamentally broken idea.
05:29 So here's my replacement of it.
05:32 I have got a very glittery D20 here.
05:34 Would you like to use the glittery one?
05:36 Do you want the solid purple one?
05:39 That's quite a use.
05:42 Nice see-through red one.
05:44 We don't need to, the purple one, the purple one.
05:46 Purple one.
05:47 Good choice.
05:48 An excellent choice.
05:49 And I'm, because Adam's really odd about this booking thing.
05:54 I'm going to give him the odd numbers and Oli, you can be the even numbers.
05:56 He's going to go first.
05:58 It is an eight.
05:59 We are starting with Oli Davis.
06:03 The Rock has just beaten John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 28.
06:08 Cena is broken, sitting on the ramp.
06:10 He tried to beat The Rock with his own people's elbow, and that arrogance cost him the match.
06:17 Chapter 1 - Loyalty and Betrayal.
06:21 On the post-WrestleMania Raw, Cena finally comes out to address the WWE Universe.
06:26 Let's go Cena.
06:28 Cena sucks.
06:29 He tries to cut a babyface promo smiling, but he's drowned out by the crowd.
06:34 Let's go Cena.
06:36 Cena sucks.
06:37 Did the better man win, he asks, or did the better man lose it for himself?
06:42 Let's go Cena.
06:44 Cena shut up.
06:46 He suddenly shouts, his voice breaking at the end.
06:49 He composes himself.
06:51 The Rock was once in a lifetime, he admits.
06:54 But I'm brighter than lightning, and these people are louder than thunder.
06:57 Let's make this twice in a lifetime, fight me at Extreme Rules, Rock.
07:03 But it's not Dwayne who comes out.
07:05 It's Brock Lesnar who flattens him with an F5.
07:09 John Laurinaitis explains he's brought Brock back to give WWE that ruthless aggression
07:14 again and will decide who's still got it at Extreme Rules with Lesnar vs Cena.
07:21 It's total dominance from Brock, throwing Cena around for 15 whole minutes, but Cena
07:27 in a last shot of adrenaline hits an AA.
07:29 He could have it won, but instead he slides off his Never Give Up armband, he looks right
07:35 down the lens, and does the Rock's Just Bring It Taunt.
07:39 He goes for the People's Elbow, but Lesnar hoists him up into an F5 to win.
07:44 Cena's obsession with the Rock has cost him again.
07:48 The next night on Raw is the same as after WrestleMania.
07:52 Cena comes out smiling like nothing's happened, but the crowd is still all 'let's go
07:56 Cena'.
07:57 Cena sucks.
07:59 He lost to the Rock, he lost to Brock, but he's all about never giving up for all of
08:04 you people.
08:05 I'm calling you out Rock for SummerSlam.
08:08 Come get some.
08:10 But nobody comes out to get anything.
08:12 It's just the crowd getting louder and louder.
08:16 Let's go Cena.
08:18 Cena sucks.
08:19 He's visibly rattled, and his eyes moisten, and he says off mic 'screw this' and
08:24 goes to the corner, bearing his head in his little hustle loyalty and respect town.
08:29 He wipes it down his face, and he re-emerges a changed man.
08:34 Ok, new rule.
08:36 He pulls off his bright green Never Give Up armband and reverses it.
08:40 It's black.
08:41 I see you wearing one of these armbands, you have my loyalty.
08:44 I get in this ring for you, I leave it all in here for you, I will beat the Rock for
08:49 you.
08:50 Everyone else, I ain't doing this s*** anymore.
08:52 I can see you, and you can go to hell.
08:55 Just like Diesel and Bret Hart before him, Cena has turned heel if you want him to be.
09:02 Chapter 2 - Hustle Cena, dressed in a black t-shirt, cap and
09:06 boots to match his armband now, calls out The Rock week after week and cuts promos on
09:11 the Smarks that cheer the Great One.
09:13 You think Dwayne's watching?
09:15 He's laughing all the way to his private bank on a Hollywood lot.
09:18 But The Rock might face him if he's WWE Champion, so he'll just have to win Money
09:23 in the Bank.
09:24 It's the night of Money in the Bank, but The Miz has picked up an injury.
09:28 Laurinaitis finds a replacement, but they've got to fly in.
09:31 It's short notice.
09:32 The match will have to start without them, but he guarantees when they arrive, you'll
09:36 know the true meaning of the People's Power.
09:40 At the end of the match, Cena is the lone conscious person.
09:42 He puts one hand on the bottom rung when Laurinaitis introduces the last entrant.
09:47 IF YOU'RE SMALL.
09:50 The Rock struts down, wearing his Hollywood glasses, steps on Cena's striving hand,
09:55 and easily climbs the ladder to unhook the briefcase.
09:58 The Rock is now the holder of the Money in the Bank contract.
10:04 The next night on Raw we have the debut of the mega gimmick.
10:09 Corporate Hollywood Rock, with a fawning Laurinaitis by his side.
10:14 This is full Maple Leaf Suck Rock, MJF Rock, using every cheap heat trick in the book.
10:21 But Cena interrupts him, now the serious tweener, and lays down the challenge again.
10:27 Come get some.
10:28 But Rock says he's got a whole lot more money to make for his bank in Hollywood, and
10:33 the next time you'll see me, it'll be to cash it in.
10:37 This brings out the current WWE Champion CM Punk, who stares down Rock.
10:44 Rock is Stonewall serious, but then flashes that million dollar smile.
10:48 Have fun kids.
10:49 The People Powers Champion will come back.
10:53 Finally.
10:54 The Rock leaves Punk and Cena in the ring.
10:56 Cena's looking at the WWE Championship over Punk's shoulder.
10:59 He now sees that as his way to face The Rock.
11:02 They get in each other's faces with echoes of Money in the Bank 2011, but Laurinaitis
11:06 says no, the people want fresh faces in the main event.
11:10 Rock goes into a title feud with Lesnar, main eventing SummerSlam, while Cena is knocked
11:15 down the card.
11:16 He's lost to Rock, he's lost to Brock.
11:19 He lost Money in the Bank.
11:21 Cena now has to work his way up from the bottom, wrestling in pay-per-view openers against
11:25 WWE's younger stars.
11:27 It's practically his US title open challenge run from 2016, just without a title on the
11:32 line.
11:33 Cena wrestles meanly and aggressively, but the crowd shake him too often.
11:38 He puts over the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes.
11:42 Eventually Punk passes him in a corridor backstage, and he double takes.
11:46 Didn't you used to be John Cena?
11:49 All the while, Cena doesn't take his eyes off the title on Punk's shoulder.
11:53 That's the fire Cena needed.
11:56 He starts to win.
11:57 He wrestles on every Raw, SmackDown, pay-per-view, Sunday Night Heat, I dunno, whatever.
12:02 He gets victories over Jericho and Triple H. By Christmas, he's on a winning streak.
12:07 He's no longer getting distracted by the fans, just with head down hustle.
12:12 Punk wants to fight Cena for the belt, but Laurinaitis says no.
12:16 Instead, they can have a non-title match on the first Raw of 2013.
12:20 While it's not officially for the championship, with both men's histories, it unofficially
12:26 is.
12:27 They wrestle their terrific Raw TV match from this same year.
12:30 Punk hits a Piledriver, there's a Double Down after 15 brutal minutes, and that's
12:35 when Laurinaitis reveals his plan.
12:37 It's time for The Rock to cash that check.
12:42 Rock walks down, glasses on, just like Money in the Bank, and stands over a near-unconscious
12:47 Cena.
12:48 He just flips the bird instead of taking off his armband, and starts to run the ropes for
12:52 a People's Elbow, but Punk picks him up and hits a GTS.
12:56 Laurinaitis is shocked.
12:57 He's just accidentally made it a three way for the title, which John Cena is in.
13:02 He tries to reverse the cash in as Punk stands up straight into an AA, but Rock has recovered
13:07 enough to push John out the ring and make the pin himself.
13:11 The Rock is now the WWE Champion.
13:16 Chapter 3 - Respect, Contempt The following Raw sees Rock have his first
13:22 title defence against Yoshitatsu.
13:25 He squashes him in a segment that's about 95% rock concert.
13:29 Now he's defended the belt within 30 days, he doesn't have to wrestle again until WrestleMania.
13:34 But who will face him?
13:36 The Royal Rumble has CM Punk out at number 2, Cena enters at number 8.
13:41 They are the Eternal Feud, and their Iron Man performances see them through to the final
13:46 two.
13:47 GTS attempt reversed into AA attempt, but Punk grabs the top rope and pulls them both
13:52 over at the same time.
13:53 Both Punk and Cena have won the Rumble match, and they're both choosing The Rock.
13:59 This just won't do for Laurinaitis, who books Cena vs Punk at Elimination Chamber
14:04 to decide just one number one contender with himself as the special guest referee.
14:10 He knows what you want, people's power.
14:12 The Rock is out there on commentary, where he keeps changing his mind who he wants to
14:15 face at Mania.
14:17 Laurinaitis flips between fast counts or hesitations depending on what Rock signals.
14:22 Punk and Cena eventually have enough of this, laying out The Rock and putting Laurinaitis
14:26 through the announcers table, writing Laurinaitis off pretty much forever to a double DQ.
14:32 The next night on Raw, Rock is ecstatic.
14:34 Because it was a double DQ, he gets to choose his opponent at WrestleMania 29.
14:39 It'll be twice in a lifetime as The Rock defends his WWE Championship against Yoshitatsu
14:47 again.
14:48 But there's a new sheriff in town.
14:51 It's Stone Cold Steve Austin, who's the interim General Manager, and he declares at
14:55 Mania it will be The Rock vs John Cena vs CM Punk in a triple threat.
15:03 Finally, the main event of WrestleMania 29.
15:07 CM Punk gets living colour to perform live for him again.
15:09 The Rock is accompanied out by Arnie, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis.
15:14 It's Planet Hollywood as a faction, because in this fantasy booking universe, The Rock
15:18 will star in Expendables 3 out the following year, and Cena will have a single piano playing
15:23 My Time Is Now, a stripped back contrast to The Rock's excess.
15:28 He poses with his head down and taps his black armband.
15:31 As the camera pans around, nearly every person in the stadium is wearing one.
15:37 The match begins exactly how their last three way ended.
15:40 Punk immediately hits a GTS on The Rock and turns round into a Cena AA for a near fall.
15:45 The match is booked like Paul Heyman after he's saved up all the finishers.
15:48 In the final sequence, Rock batters Punk with the title belt, knocking him out, and then
15:53 stands over John's body for the People's Elbow.
15:56 But he pauses, thinks, and starts Cena's five knuckle shuffle routine instead.
16:02 He runs the rope, just like Cena did against him the year before, but runs into a waiting
16:07 AA for the 1, 2, 3.
16:12 John Cena is your new WWE Champion, burying his Rock grudge, setting up his big feud of
16:18 2013, Cena vs the man who wasn't pinned, CM Punk.
16:47 [CLIP] Was Cena ever fully a heel though?
17:08 [CLIP] He told the people who booed him they go to hell.
17:35 [CLIP]
18:04 20 minutes, the match is great.
18:23, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to watch it again.
18:52 [CLIP] You want to know what I really think?
18:54 I love Yoshitatsu.
18:55 It should have been the Hurricane.
18:58 Bring the Hurricane back for it.
18:59 [CLIP] Where did you find the research for this?
19:03 Did you find the Wrestlemania 29 card and just pick out the Battle Royal?
19:06 [CLIP] Well, it was pretty much I just had WWE's pay-per-view calendar open on Wikipedia
19:14 for that year.
19:15 Whenever I wanted to figure something out, I'd go into that pay-per-view and read the
19:18 story reading.
19:21 And I re-watched Adam's Cena last run and re-watched Laurie and Sully's booking just
19:29 in case I went over any previously heel Cena ideas that people had already done.
19:35 The Rock is Mr. Money in the Bank.
19:40 That's your killer app here.
19:43 Hollywood Rock's really difficult because he is actually Hollywood now.
19:46 So like, can he be a bellend?
19:48 That's my only thing that I struggle with the booking is the idea of Rock being heel.
19:53 Because I don't see it.
19:55 I like it though.
19:57 I like it.
19:58 I like the concept of it.
19:59 Just like I like the concept of Rock and Cena turning heel in the same year under Vincent
20:05 Kennedy McMahon.
20:06 While Punk is also a heel.
20:08 Oh no, Punk's your one true main event babyface apparently according to this.
20:15 You're selling WrestleMania on Face CM Punk.
20:19 According to, I mean, hey, it could happen now.
20:22 Hey, and do you know what Adam?
20:24 The entire crowd were wearing armbands so it clearly worked.
20:27 Yeah, you just have to book the crowd to boo The Rock.
20:31 Boo him!
20:33 Boo him!
20:34 I do like the idea though of corporate Hollywood Rock.
20:38 With Laura Knight as well.
20:39 There's a lot of fun in there.
20:40 But yeah, I thought it was really good.
20:41 I don't think you should be as unconfident as you were.
20:44 I think you should be walking into this with your head held high because Adam's is 17 minutes
20:48 long.
20:49 All of the confidence I had is pure kayfabe by the way, because genuinely I completely
20:54 get why after what you're about to see, people vote for yours because you rebooked twice
20:59 in a lifetime and more power to you.
21:01 Oli, it's Christmas.
21:03 I just didn't want to.
21:05 So I did this instead.
21:08 Well, let's see what it is.
21:11 The lights fade up on The Rock and John Cena sitting in the back of a police car.
21:18 Both men are in handcuffs.
21:19 Cena sports a black eye.
21:22 Lights from an ambulance flash across the concrete walls of the parking garage around
21:26 them, washing everything in crime scene red and accident blue.
21:32 The Rock looks at Cena.
21:35 Cena looks at The Rock.
21:36 The Rock says, "It seemed a lot simpler last year, didn't it?"
21:40 Cena says, "You got that right."
21:44 Cena looks out of the car.
21:45 There's something in the distance.
21:47 What do you think that is?
21:49 The Rock looks too.
21:50 That's a dead man walking.
22:05 We start at the Royal Rumble 2013.
22:09 The main event, the People's Pebble versus Chunky Monkey Punk.
22:14 The Shield get involved.
22:15 They do the little restart thing.
22:17 You can keep that.
22:18 The Rock catches Punk in a spine buster.
22:21 Before he can hit the People's Elbow, he tries to hit it, but Punk catches him and locks
22:26 him in an anaconda vice.
22:28 The Rock struggles, doesn't tap, but passes out.
22:32 Ultimately, Punk retains twice.
22:37 The next night on Raw, The Rock comes out to talk to the people.
22:40 No excuses.
22:41 I got beat.
22:43 Call it ring rust.
22:44 Call it time.
22:46 Call it whatever you want.
22:47 I couldn't get the job done.
22:48 But The Rock knows that he can.
22:51 He says, "I'm putting CM Punk on notice.
22:53 Your time is running out."
22:56 And The Rock is declaring himself the number one contender.
22:59 Suddenly, he's interrupted by someone's music.
23:03 Bow down to the, bow down to the king.
23:07 Do do on your knees.
23:11 It's Triple H's music.
23:14 This game walks down to the ring in his COO suit and tie.
23:18 And he says, "Rock, no one in that locker room knows how much you've done for this company
23:22 more than me.
23:24 Because I did it all right alongside you."
23:27 This is a new generation.
23:28 And guess what, Rock?
23:29 You don't make the matches around here.
23:32 I do.
23:34 Last night, you got beat.
23:37 Twice.
23:38 So why do you leave the WWE up to the people who never left the WWE?
23:43 See, this is my home.
23:45 This is all I've ever wanted.
23:47 But right now, what I want the most is for you to show me the respect I'm owed and get
23:52 out of my ring.
23:54 The Rock smiles.
23:55 He says, "Look, The Rock understands that perhaps you're still a little sore after Brock
23:58 Lesnar broke your arm twice."
24:02 So The Rock's going to give you this one.
24:04 Rock turns to leave.
24:05 But one last thing.
24:07 Speaking as someone who's seen the chaperone, this isn't all you've ever wanted.
24:13 This is all you've ever had.
24:17 Triple H removes his jacket, his cufflinks, rolls up his sleeve.
24:20 "Hey, hey, hey," says The Rock.
24:21 "Stephanie will never forgive The Rock if I send you home with your head shoved straight
24:24 up your candy bottom."
24:26 So hey, look.
24:28 After 15 years, put her there.
24:31 You shake hands before The Rock says, "But just so you know, after what happened at the
24:35 Rumble last night, you have picked the wrong night to piss me off."
24:39 Pulls him in.
24:40 Rock hits the rock bottom on Triple H.
24:44 Two weeks later, Triple H comes out on Raw dressed in his daddiest outfit, which is a
24:49 motorhead t-shirt, long-sleeved denim jacket, a short-sleeved leather jacket, and then a
24:56 denim vest on top of that.
24:58 Trip says, "Now there's nothing sadder than a man out of time when someone doesn't know
25:06 when to call it quits."
25:07 The Rock's been wrestling on borrowed time, frankly, since 2002, and Triple H says he's
25:14 going to send him home for good one last time.
25:18 Triple H challenges The Rock to a match at WrestleMania 29.
25:24 He says, "I'll be waiting at Elimination Chamber, Rock.
25:26 Why don't you show up and give me your answer?"
25:30 Elimination Chamber, Triple H, and Rock agree to a match, both of them talking about how
25:35 each other refuses to let go of their wrestling prime.
25:40 Triple H was crushed by Brock Lesnar.
25:43 The Rock was beaten by CM Punk, the current WWE champion.
25:46 They're two old cowboys who can't stop gunslinging.
25:50 Triple H strikes first, but runs into The Rock's spinebuster.
25:52 However, before The Rock can hit the People's Elbow on Trips, he runs into Stephanie McMahon,
25:57 who stops him, slaps him in the face.
26:01 The Rock smiles, then hits The Rock bottom on Stephanie.
26:06 On Raw, Triple H is beside himself.
26:10 No matter what happens at WrestleMania, he says, "I am still going to be with WWE.
26:16 I'm never going to leave."
26:18 And The Rock isn't welcome here anymore.
26:22 No more popping in for a chat whenever there's a movie that needs promoting.
26:26 No more main events whenever you feel like it, Rock.
26:29 I want you at WrestleMania, and if you don't win, I want you to quit wrestling for good.
26:41 The Rock agrees, but only if Triple H does the same.
26:45 Triple H vs. The Rock.
26:47 Career vs. Career.
26:49 The loser never wrestles again.
26:51 They do a contract signing on the Go Home Raw.
26:54 Rock and Trips put pen to paper when Steph shows up with a bunch of cops.
26:58 "That's him, officers.
26:59 That's the man who attacked me."
27:01 Rock then tries to fight off all the police, but is arrested, bundled into the back of
27:06 a police car, where he sees John Cena sitting there with a black eye.
27:11 At WrestleMania 29, the finish of the match sees the referee go down.
27:15 The Rock again going for the People's Elbow on Triple H.
27:19 Stephanie rushes into the ring, lies on her husband, crying, begging, pleading for Rock
27:26 not to hit it.
27:27 Rock hits both Stephanie and Triple H with a People's Elbow, but then he turns around
27:35 into a sweet chin music from Shawn Michaels.
27:39 Triple H and Rock get up.
27:41 Trips hits the pedigree.
27:42 One, two, three.
27:44 That's the end of The Rock's in-ring career.
27:47 It's also low-key the beginning to the Authority storyline.
27:50 For the longest time, Triple H refuses to admit he's heel.
27:54 What he was doing was right for WWE all along, which leads into Summerslam and the official
27:58 tournament.
27:59 It also adds a little bit more juice to every time The Rock comes back for a promo and encounters
28:03 Triple H, like for example at WrestleMania 31.
28:06 He's the man who retired him, and there will always be bad blood between them.
28:12 [MUSIC]
28:25 We start at the Royal Rumble 2013.
28:27 John Cena is on a road to redemption after losing at Mania 27, losing to Punk at Money
28:33 in the Bank 2011, losing to The Rock at Mania 28, losing at Summerslam 2012, at Survivor
28:38 Series 2012, he really needs this.
28:42 Cena enters number 22, cleans houses, wabble doo, and the like, when suddenly he's grabbed
28:51 from behind by suddenly appearing on the ring apron, Paul Heyman.
28:57 Paul Heyman just grabs Cena, doing his best to kind of try to throttle him.
29:02 Cena fights him off, but then turns around into a bro kick from Sheamus, which sends
29:06 John Cena sailing over the top rope to the outside.
29:11 John Cena is eliminated from the 2013 Royal Rumble.
29:15 Paul Heyman just slicks back what's left of his hair, saunters up the ramp, all as the
29:22 Rumble timer counts down to whoever's entering at number 28.
29:26 Backstage Cena confronts Punk, tells him that if you want to do something, Jack, instead
29:30 of sending your messenger or your manager to do your dirty work, how about you strap
29:36 on these nuts, hold up a packet of airline peanuts, and you do it yourself, Jack.
29:42 Punk looks at Cena saying, look, I hate you, and you don't have any reason to believe me,
29:48 but I didn't tell Paul to do that.
29:51 Punk then walks away.
29:53 We fast forward to the elimination chamber, again a must win situation for Jonathan Cena.
29:59 Every fifth word that Cena says in promos leading up to this match is redemption, redemption,
30:04 redemption, WrestleMania redemption.
30:07 The main event of the show is an elimination chamber match to determine the WWE champion
30:13 heading into WrestleMania 29.
30:15 Randy Orton versus Sheamus versus Ryback versus Big Show versus CM Punk versus John Cena.
30:23 Cena and Punk start the chamber as the first two men, and they go the distance.
30:28 Everyone else is eliminated, and it's Punk and Cena right at the end, the classic rivals
30:33 as the last two competitors.
30:36 Cena and Punk are exhausted.
30:38 Cena hits an avalanche AA, but as he lies on the mat trying to crawl towards Punk, Brock
30:51 Lesnar strides down, accompanied by Paul Heyman, rips the chamber door open, hits an F5 to
30:57 John Cena, drags CM Punk, plops him on top, Punk pins Cena, retains the title.
31:04 Heyman informs Cena that John has something that belongs to Brock Lesnar.
31:10 At Extreme Rules 2012, Lesnar's first match back with WWE, John Cena beat Brock.
31:18 Cena has the W over Brock Lesnar, and that will not stand.
31:24 Brock had diverticulitis, but he's better now, and he's going to extract that W from
31:28 John Cena's soul at WrestleMania 29.
31:32 For the next few weeks, every time Cena tries to hustle loyalty and respect and advantage
31:37 over the Beast, Brock hands him his bottom and then stuffs it with one of those little
31:44 towels up there.
31:45 Paul Heyman brings up the fact that Cena's lost two WrestleMania main events in a row.
31:49 Brock keeps beating Cena down.
31:52 He punches him, straight in the eye, bloodying his mouth again and F5-ing him onto the concrete
31:57 floor.
31:58 Heyman says Cena's lost what made him special, whereas Brock is just getting stronger.
32:05 In order to conquer the Beast, Cena will have to go to a place he's never been before.
32:10 And frankly, Heyman says, John, you don't have the guts to go to that place.
32:19 From the go-home roar, Cena, sporting a black eye, attacks Brock Lesnar in the parking lot
32:24 with a lead pipe.
32:25 He smashes Lesnar around the backstage area through a window before wrapping a steel chain
32:31 around his wrist and using it to lock Lesnar in the STF.
32:36 People try to pry Cena off Brock, but Cena starts throwing hands with the refs and the
32:40 official.
32:41 He's lost his mind.
32:42 Someone shouts, "Call security!
32:44 Call the police!"
32:46 Lesnar is placed under arrest and put in the back of a cop car in the parking lot.
32:50 He's watching some commotion happening at the other end of that parking lot when the
32:54 door opens and The Rock, also in handcuffs, is bundled in.
32:59 At WrestleMania 29, Brock Lesnar beats John Cena, not in as one-sided a fashion as their
33:05 SummerSlam 2014 match, but Brock wins, extending Cena's losing streak another year, setting
33:12 the stage for, one year later, WrestleMania 30.
33:16 John Cena vs The Undertaker.
33:19 Undefeated streak vs Defeated streak.
33:22 And I would absolutely turn Cena heel here.
33:27 Cheating to finally get his WrestleMania win back and break The Undertaker's undefeated
33:32 streak.
33:42 We start at the Royal Rumble 2013.
33:44 Paul Heyman walks to the back, clears the ramp just as a timer ticks down from 10 to
33:50 1.
33:51 Ehhh.
33:52 Out comes number 28, which is… gone.
33:56 Undertaker makes a surprise return to the Rumble, heads down to the ring and clears
34:01 house, last eliminating Ryback to become the winner of the 2013 Royal Rumble.
34:09 We fast forward to the Elimination Chamber match.
34:11 Brock Lesnar leaves the building.
34:13 Cena has been helped out of the chamber.
34:16 CM Punk is dazed, confused, but celebrating when suddenly… gone.
34:23 The lights go out.
34:24 Come back on to reveal Taker standing behind Punk.
34:29 He scoops up, the WWE Champion delivers the tombstone and then does this.
34:34 It really hurts your eyes doing that.
34:38 The match is set.
34:39 CM Punk puts his run as champion, which will be over 500 days by this point, 504 come WrestleMania
34:46 29 to be exact, against Undertaker's 20-0 undefeated streak.
34:52 Someone's streak will come to an end.
34:56 And honestly, keep much of their feud the same, because it was one of the best feuds
35:01 going into WrestleMania 29, including all the dicey stuff around the death of William
35:07 Moody aka Paul Bearer.
35:09 I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry for your loss at WrestleMania.
35:13 Chef's kiss.
35:14 I mean maybe Punk doesn't have to use Paul Bearer's ashes as like a dry shampoo, but
35:18 it can be near the knuckle.
35:20 It is crazy unique heat and suited to what this is, a WrestleMania main event.
35:29 CM Punk tells Taker that even though Taker is supposed to be this great legend, 20-0,
35:36 here's another number for you, 238.
35:42 That's the total number of combined days that Undertaker has been WWE champion across his
35:47 entire career.
35:49 I am about to double that, because unlike you, unlike your manager, my title reign is
35:58 immortal.
36:00 On the Go Home episode of Raw, CM Punk holds a ceremony celebrating making it to 500 days
36:08 as WWE champion.
36:10 Undertaker crashes the ceremony, has CM Punk by the throat when he hears a car's horn.
36:14 He turns around and Paul Heyman is driving a hearse down to the ring.
36:20 In the back is a flower arrangement in the name Paul.
36:25 Taker snarls, Paul is right and goes after Heyman, clobbering him, trying to stuff him
36:31 into the back of the hearse when CM Punk attacks him from behind with the urn.
36:35 He loads Taker into the hearse, drives it to the back to the parking lot, he parks it
36:40 up, gives Taker another crack on the head before jumping in a truck and plowing it into
36:47 the side of the hearse.
36:48 An ambulance arrives and as paramedics stretch a Taker into the back of the ambulance, CM
36:52 Punk stands there and smirks.
36:55 The smirk is wiped from his face when Taker sits up as the ambulance starts to drive away.
37:01 From the back seat of a nearby police car, Cena points out Punk, to which Rock responds,
37:07 "That's a dead man walking."
37:10 At WrestleMania 29, The Undertaker beats CM Punk to take the streak to 21-0 and end the
37:18 504 day title reign of CM Punk.
37:22 He places the belt on the mat, places the urn next to the belt and then gestures at
37:26 them both.
37:28 On Raw, Taker can describe it as "one last ride" for Paul, essentially give a eulogy
37:35 for Paul Bearer and then vacate the title because Undertaker is going away to "heal
37:42 up for a year".
37:44 Which then leaves just one thing, my favourite thing, a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion.
37:57 Merry Christmas.
37:58 Bravo.
37:59 Well done.
38:00 Bravo.
38:01 I mean again, I didn't rebook twice in a lifetime.
38:04 You did that.
38:05 I just rebooked WrestleMania 29.
38:07 And gosh I talk a lot, huh?
38:10 Why did you not want to book twice in a lifetime?
38:15 Closing the title.
38:17 I just didn't want to see him wrestle again.
38:20 Just don't get me wrong, it's because they did the exact same story.
38:24 They just whacked the title on it.
38:25 That made it uninteresting.
38:26 You could have Rock and Cena wrestle again.
38:29 I just didn't want it.
38:31 So what was your sort of like thinking then going into this?
38:35 You basically looked at the big three matches on the show and were just like, "I'm just
38:38 going to switch some of this around".
38:41 Can I guess what happened?
38:42 Did you watch Pulp Fiction recently?
38:44 I love the stretcher.
38:47 I thought I really, really got a kick out of that.
38:52 There wasn't enough feet in it to really be a Pulp Fiction reference.
38:56 No, quite right.
38:57 Yeah, I kind of just wanted to, yeah, I wanted like, what is the thing that can kind of satisfy
39:03 everything?
39:04 But I wanted to, the thing that I thought was interesting about Cena is this idea of
39:08 redemption and pushing him to his breaking point, which I think me and Oli both kind
39:12 of latched onto.
39:14 But they just didn't really do, like the way they did it didn't kind of like pay that off
39:17 in any way.
39:18 Obviously, The Rock, it's his kind of last match.
39:22 So kind of just make a thing of that.
39:24 And then also try and keep CM Punk in your company for a little bit longer by giving
39:28 him the main event at WrestleMania that he had earned by that point.
39:32 And doing something, you know, because him and Taker had the best match on the card.
39:35 It was basically just like, yeah, looking at the card and being just like, oh, this
39:38 is the way round to do that.
39:39 And then adding some Tarantino-esque smoke and mirrors to it.
39:45 I love the idea of that go home roar or wherever it is in the story.
39:49 It's the stupidest go home roar.
39:50 All those mega angles happen.
39:52 There's a truck into the hearse.
39:55 Rock is like, was it slapping Stephanie that he got the arrest for?
39:59 At least he fights them all off.
40:02 And the police and Cena going crazy backstage.
40:04 I really loved all the Rock Triple H stuff.
40:07 And that was some really good stuff.
40:09 Like that is way more interesting than anything that actually The Rock did when he came back.
40:13 Yeah.
40:14 I mean, I just thought like, what is it interesting to do with all of these players rather than
40:19 necessarily try to retell a Rock and Cena story?
40:23 Which to be fair, Oli did.
40:25 So it depends what you want.
40:26 I think that's what it comes down to.
40:28 Yeah.
40:29 It might be.
40:30 I don't know if that's going to satisfy the brief of the video.
40:33 Well, what does Luke think?
40:34 You're the arbiter.
40:35 I mean, I know it's the people's decision, but like, where do you, where does your heart?
40:40 It is you people's decision on who is going to win.
40:45 Here is what I think is going to happen.
40:48 I think that people who watch this video are going to vote for Oli.
40:51 I think people who don't are going to vote for Adam.
40:53 And I think that may lead to an Adam victory because I think more people will vote in the
40:58 poll than watch the video, then vote in the poll.
41:00 So are you telling the people to vote for Oli?
41:03 I'm not, I'm not telling the people to vote for Oli at all, but I have a feeling that
41:07 is like, if, if I would say as a viewer of this, if Oli doesn't win, I think it is an
41:14 unfair, I think it's unjust.
41:17 Wow.
41:19 I think this is the video where we change the voting system to be a link or something
41:24 only that you can get at the end of the video.
41:28 How do we do that though?
41:29 I have no idea.
41:30 No, we'll do, we'll keep it the same way as, as always.
41:33 Yeah.
41:34 Do you want to, should we post the poll up five minutes before the video goes live?
41:36 I rebooked the Rock and John Cena's journey to WrestleMania 29.
41:41 And it was very good.
41:42 Gosh darn you.
41:43 And it was very good.
41:44 It was, it was great.
41:45 Yeah.
41:46 I'd like what you did with WrestleMania 30 as well.
41:48 Yeah, that was great.
41:49 Really, really good.
41:50 That actually syncs up with-
41:51 What kind of briefs was it?
41:52 The little bonus, it's Christmas.
41:53 That's what I think.
41:57 I think Oli satisfied the brief and did a much better version of what actually happened.
42:03 So what we're saying-
42:05 That's possibly fair.
42:06 Adams was better overall by quite, I think quite some way.
42:10 You don't have to, you don't have to say that Oli.
42:12 You don't have to say that.
42:14 But you didn't book the right thing.
42:15 I did.
42:16 I could just start booking random stuff without limitations and come up with something half
42:21 decent I think.
42:22 Who's that coward?
42:23 Why didn't you experiment with the form?
42:26 Who's the real coward here?
42:27 Someone who just doesn't stick to the limitations and the rules?
42:31 Yeah.
42:32 That's fair.
42:33 Yeah.
42:34 That's fair.
42:35 That's fair.
42:36 Let the people decide.
42:37 Well, the vote is yours.
42:38 The vote is yours.
42:39 It is people power is what we have given everyone here.
42:43 So use the poll that's in the community tab.
42:46 We've linked to it in the video description down below.
42:48 Head on over to PFK's channel if you can't find the link and head to the community tab
42:51 and the poll is there.
42:53 Vote for whoever you think.
42:56 Don't listen to me.
42:57 Don't listen to Oli.
42:58 Don't listen to Adam.
42:59 Well, listen to Oli and Adam's actual stories.
43:00 But don't listen to me.
43:01 And go with your heart.
43:02 Go with your gut.
43:03 Go with your mind.
43:04 Go with your tongue.
43:05 And vote wisely.
43:09 Until then, I've been Luke Owen, DAD.
43:11 That's been Adam Blampied.
43:13 That's been Oli Davis.
43:14 Now it's Fantasy Booking Warfare.
43:16 Jam that jam everyone.
43:16 [OUTRO MUSIC]
