00:10 That was a formation based, you know, I asked formation if they wanted to make it seem like
00:14 it was one but from the film study that we had on them guys, you know, I took a shot
00:19 and you know, made the right call.
00:21 I know you don't think too much about the future but you're having a hell of a year
00:25 and a very timely portion for your career with you being a free agent after this year
00:31 so how satisfying does it feel that you're having this kind of year so far?
00:37 I mean my main thing is to be consistent always so, you know, I'm going to look at this tape,
00:42 you know, I think there's still a lot of things I can grow from today but, you know, for me
00:48 it just starts with preparation.
00:49 How well am I prepared, how well am I taking care of my body, how well am I eating throughout
00:52 the week and film study so if I can feel comfortable at those things that I'm doing earlier in
00:57 the week, it's going to prepare me to play at this level so I'm excited.

01:03 Oh man, this is home, you know, I want this to make this home for me, my family as well
01:08 but, you know, I got to handle business next year too.
01:12 You guys just got your first season and Deacon's ready for the 14th season.
01:17 How do you feel about the Deacon's coming back?
01:22 I mean, it's huge, you know, for them they started off the play, they started off their
01:27 offensive drive, the 15th play drive so we knew right then and there that they wasn't
01:32 going to beat us doing that.
01:34 You know, they're not going to score but they can give it a jumper so for us it was just
01:38 finding that moment, finding that opportunity, keep the field going, stop them on first down,
01:42 giving an opportunity for us to go make a play and we're just capitalizing on all our
01:47 opportunities so if we can continue to go, continue to pass this tape, continue to evolve
01:54 in the game that we know we can beat, I still think we left some out there.
01:58 20 points, man, I'm disappointed that we didn't have that but, you know, there's still room
02:04 for growth, we're not where we need to be but we're definitely heading in the right
02:08 direction but I'm excited for next year.
02:11 How does it feel to have Smoot back out there?
02:13 I mean, it feels great.
02:14 I love Smoot as a brother so that's just to see him out there, see him back out there

02:19 He's a provider and he's providing not only for him, he's providing for us as well so
02:24 I'm glad he made it through and, you know, that's one game under his belt and I think
02:29 once we start getting to the swing of things, he's going to open up and I think he's going
02:32 to be unstoppable.
02:34 Overall, take me back to where you think you are with the defense after all these games
02:38 and what you thought, I mean a lot of people think you're going to be a tough part of the
02:42 team right here.
02:43 I mean, definitely.
02:44 You know, main thing, you know, the defense, we want to stop the run.
02:48 Coach challenged us yesterday to hold this team under 50 yards and I don't know what

02:57 I thought it was 44 so.
02:59 So we did our part and once we knew we could stop that offense, that's a run heavy offense,
03:05 man we knew we got opportunities to beat her, we just had to get on them.
03:08 I like the way we rushed up front, I think it was a little opportunities that we could
03:11 get them down a little bit quicker but as a whole, as a defense, man, we're excited.
03:16 We're definitely heading in the right direction.

03:37 If you can take the ball away and get the ball back to the offense, I mean, that's,
03:40 I think every defense wants to do that.
03:42 So for us to be that, we're one of the top, hopefully we're number one now.
03:47 We want to be the number one defense.
03:49 You know, Hurston wants to be the number one player.
03:52 Ray wants to be the number one player.
03:54 Everybody in our defense wants to be the best player in the whole NFL.
03:57 So if we can keep, continue to motivate ourselves, to keep pushing ourselves,
04:01 I mean, this defense is going to be crazy.
04:04 But I don't like the way we finished, 20 points, you know, so I'm happy we got the dub.
04:10 I'm happy we got the takeaways.
04:12 But, you know, we need to start smothering these teams and, you know, start this week.
04:18 So you guys kind of compete with, you have the, you know,
04:20 you're one of the top guys in the sacks, Cisco being one of the top guys in the reception sacks.
04:23 Is that something you kind of do in practice to compete?
04:25 Definitely.
04:26 You know, we compete against ourselves.
04:28 But, you know, we got to look outwards as well.
04:31 You know, we obviously compete, I compete with my rushes to get to second for anybody else.
04:36 But, you know, there's another step to that, and that's the whole NFL.
04:40 And everybody knows what everybody else has.
04:43 We're not stat chasing, but we know when we handle our business
04:46 and those opportunities come up, we can handle those and make a lot of plays for ourselves.
