What Donaven McCulley Said After Indiana's 52-7 Loss vs Michigan
Transcript
00:00 having to rotate, talk about maybe the change they faced doing that.
00:03 Coming in, sitting maybe a quarter or two, having to come back in.
00:06 How hard is that for a quarterback?
00:09 >> I think it's really hard to get yourself in a routine and
00:12 get other guys in a routine.
00:13 I'm not sure why they flip flop and stuff like that, but
00:18 I think it's hard to get into a routine.
00:21 >> Did you try to pick them up?
00:23 I mean, was taping down at all?
00:24 I mean, obviously, the post kind of struggled at times, but
00:26 how did you kind of try to help them through it when they were struggling?
00:30 >> Just talking to them, just telling them I got so bad,
00:33 whatever you feel, I got so bad.
00:35 But I didn't want them to hear it.
00:36 I'm going to go on the edge and kill them.
00:38 That's all I'm going to tell them.
00:40 >> Do you feel like they've stayed, tried to stay confident?
00:43 Do you feel like they're fighting through that?
00:44 >> Yeah, for sure.
00:46 >> How difficult did the rotating situation make it for
00:48 you as a receiver to adjust?
00:50 >> It wasn't really difficult for me to adjust.
00:53 I was just waiting.
00:55 I was waiting for an opportunity, that's all.
00:56 We didn't really get too many opportunities like that, so.
01:03 >> The touchdown pass, the double pass,
01:07 just taking us through how you felt on the ball and all that stuff.
01:14 >> I saw the play come in, I was just ready for it.
01:19 It wasn't too much.
01:21 I was just out there and did it.
01:26 >> Was that play, had it been in the playbook or
01:27 was it something new that Rod instituted?
01:30 >> It's been in the playbook.
01:30 >> When do you, at what point do you know when they're rotating quarterbacks today,
01:36 when they're going in?
01:37 Do you know just right before or do you have a little sense,
01:40 a little more lead up when you're not sitting on the bench?
01:44 >> Sometimes we're sitting on the bench or sometimes it's just like while we're done.
01:49 So sometimes right before you go on the field to find out who it was today.
01:52 >> Donovan, Michigan has the number one ranked defense in the country, I guess,
01:58 from what you saw in film and what you saw in person.
02:00 How did that compare?
02:01 >> Pretty much the same thing.
02:03 I feel like we really shot ourselves in the foot.
02:08 In the first half, we can't come out and make a big play and
02:13 just not continue to roll.
02:16 We just kept shooting ourselves in the foot, we can't do that.
02:20 >> Two more.
02:21 >> So how do you think you can clean up some of those unforced errors,
02:24 you mentioned shooting yourself in the foot?
02:26 >> We just gotta come out and play board clean, just focus on little details and
02:31 things like that.
02:32 We just gotta focus on our details.
02:35 >> Has it been hard for the offense to kind of keep positive momentum,
02:39 try to not have any momentum in the locker room, kind of stay together?
02:42 How's that been for the offensive side?
02:44 >> It's kind of, as I've called it, it's kind of struggled the last couple weeks.
02:49 >> The offense as a whole, we're together still.
02:52 There's nothing breaking us apart or anything like that.
02:55 We know the situation we're in.
02:58 Just trying to figure out the situation, keep us positive.
