00:00 Yeah, I remember in Columbus days,
00:03 we would have our forward always on the weak side,
00:06 center back always looking to run behind the back line.
00:08 And Balot really has a talent for running
00:12 behind the back line.
00:13 It's something that we need to just be on the same page
00:16 with him, really identifying his runs,
00:19 and then trying to get on the ball.
00:21 Because it is, when you see the goals he's scoring in France,
00:24 and most of them are from a quick move behind the back line,
00:27 a quick shot in and around the penalty box.
00:30 Yeah, it's an interesting question,
00:32 because we want to get a result in the match.
00:36 There's no question about it.
00:38 That's why we play this game.
00:39 We play these games to win.
00:40 And so that's what we're going to be focused on.
00:44 I think big picture wise, for the coaching staff,
00:48 it's also about the process, and how we go about doing it.
00:51 And how for us, it's really important
00:54 that we play our game and win, and not just
00:57 win the game.
00:57 So there's going to be a lot of interesting dynamics
01:01 happening in the game tomorrow.
01:02 Well, I appreciate the question.
01:04 I know that's going to be on people's mind.
01:06 What I'd say is that we're moving forward.
01:09 I'm not really want to talk too much about the past.
01:16 I think it's about talking about the future.
01:19 And Gio's done a great job this week in training.
01:21 He looks really sharp, really strong.
01:23 You can see his quality.
01:25 And for us, it's about how do we build him up same way.
01:30 We have other players in the squad
01:32 and to get the most out of him, for him
01:34 to help the team the most, and for him
01:36 to return to Dortmund in really good shape
01:39 to keep pushing forward.
01:42 I don't want to dismiss the question.
01:44 But what I'd say is, honestly, everybody has.
01:46 It's been a really, really strong training
01:48 camp from the whole group.
01:49 Really good focus, really good determination.
01:52 The guys have been working really hard.
01:54 So it's been really fun to see.
01:57 And again, we've challenged them with a number of things
02:01 on the field.
02:02 And they've been responding to it.
02:03 So that's been great to see.
02:05 To piggyback on Henry's question,
02:11 it's really about how do we keep learning.
02:13 How do we keep taking every experience we have
02:15 and moving forward with it?
02:16 Because eventually, we're going to have
02:19 to learn how to beat the top teams.
02:21 That's going to have to happen if we're
02:24 going to be successful at the World Cup.
02:25 And that is something we're focused on.
02:27 Yeah, it has evolved.
02:28 I mean, that's the thing about Germany.
02:32 They evolve their game.
02:33 I think when I first got to Germany,
02:35 it was 3-5-2, sweep, libero, man decking,
02:41 following guys all over the place.
02:42 And that evolved into a back four system, more zonal.
02:46 You see now, a lot of teams play five in the back in Germany.
02:51 But I think also the philosophies change.
02:53 When Pep came into Bayern Munich,
02:55 then I think there's been a lot of focus on ball possession.
02:59 In my opinion, and this is just my opinion,
03:02 I think that they can be more direct.
03:05 They can take advantage of crosses more.
03:07 They can use-- normally, Germany has great strikers.
03:11 And that's a strength of theirs.
03:12 And taking advantage of runs in the penalty box,
03:15 shots from in and around the box is something
03:18 Germans are always good at.
03:19 So to me, the German identity, this fast-paced game,
03:26 I think can keep developing.
03:28 Because that's a real strength of German athletes.
03:31 And for me personally, I love being in Germany
03:33 because of the organization, the structure in Germany.
03:37 The stadiums were always full, great fan support.
03:41 The soccer was attractive and a really good balance
03:45 between my previous stations in Holland and England.
