Five things we LOVE and HATE about the 2023 Polaris Sportsman 570 trail! Don’t let the displacement fool you. This is a sweetheart of an ATV that’s ready for a bit of everything, with a playful suspension, plenty of power, and all the niceties of its bigger brothers.

00:00 Welcome back to Winter Rock Park where we are testing the 2023 Polaris Sportsman 570 Trail.
00:06 We're going to give you five things we love, five things we hate, and then we're going to tell you
00:09 exactly who this rig is for. First, let's go over some of the things that make this what it is. So
00:14 unlike the Sportsman 1000 that we recently tested, this is powered by a 567cc single.
00:20 Sounds great, makes lots of good power, plenty of pickup for a rig that weighs almost 900 pounds
00:26 wet. Excellent clutching, excellent throttle, it's got plenty of power. In a lot of ways,
00:30 this really is the Goldilocks machine in Polaris' lineup. It's super approachable,
00:35 it's not going to spook you, it's right at home on gravel two tracks, gnarly rock climbs,
00:41 playing around in the mud. It really is a great machine. All right, let's get into the five things
00:45 we love. Number one, just like its big brother, the ergonomics on the Sportsman 570 are excellent.
00:51 It's super comfortable, the seat is nice and wide, super soft, you can sit back and cruise, have a
00:56 good time. You can get forward, stand up, it's nice and narrow up here to grip the tank with your
01:01 knees. That's all awesome. It really is a comfortable place to spend time, whether you're
01:06 railing down a trail or putting around the farm. Speaking of ripping or bopping around the farm,
01:11 the second thing that we love is the clutching on this machine. Throttle application, super smooth,
01:17 super controllable. You can really put this machine exactly where you want it. You can control tire
01:22 spin, all because of some really excellent clutching work. That's also very similar to
01:26 the Sportsman 1000. A lot of that DNA from that bigger, more expensive machine runs right down
01:31 into this machine and it makes for a great ATV. Part of that controllability is also the throttle
01:36 mapping. This is an EFI model, just like the Sportsman 1000, and it is super progressive.
01:41 There's no hitch, there's nothing. The throttle mapping is truly, truly excellent, truly intuitive,
01:47 so good that you just don't think about it, which is exactly what you want out of a throttle on an
01:51 ATV. The third thing we love is the lighting. This thing has some super attractive, super clear,
01:57 super bright LED lighting. Gone are the days of those crappy halogen lights that would fill with
02:02 water, you'd bust bulbs all the time, or worse, at night you just couldn't see anything. These
02:08 things are crazy bright, including the light pod that's up on the handlebars, so you can actually
02:12 see when you're turning through corners. All of that is excellent. Bright LEDs in the back tube
02:18 for the brake and tail lights. It looks gorgeous, it looks super premium, looks way more expensive
02:24 than this machine's MSRP. The fourth thing we love is this suspension. Look, this isn't anything
02:29 super trick. You won't find external reservoirs, you won't find active live valve, any of that
02:35 stuff, but Polaris has clearly done their homework. This thing works everywhere we've put it. You want
02:41 to rip down a trail, it's compliant, it's stable. You want to tackle a rock garden, it's super
02:46 compliant. Lots of articulation, lots of ground clearance. There's over 11 inches of ground
02:50 clearance on this rig, which is excellent. It is just a really, really well-sorted machine,
02:56 and that's hard to do on a rig that has to play double duty as well as a sport rig and a work
03:00 horse, right? This thing can tow almost 1,400 pounds, and that typically goes with some really,
03:05 really stiff spring rates. This thing doesn't have that. It feels super comfortable, super
03:10 compliant everywhere we've put it. The fifth thing we love about the Sportsman 570 is this is the
03:15 Goldilocks machine out of the Polaris lineup. Honestly, I like this machine more than the
03:20 Polaris Sportsman 1000 in a lot of ways. It's just more approachable. It's got lots of power,
03:26 more than you need for most situations, and it feels lighter on its feet despite having a very,
03:31 very similar dry weight. Look, if you're new to ATVs or you're looking for a thing to just get
03:37 some work done around the farm, you don't need a 1,000cc unit. This guy right here will do
03:42 everything you need. All right, before we go any farther, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe.
03:47 That means you'll see our freshest content as soon as it comes out. We'll see you there.
03:52 Now, for five things we hate about the Polaris Sportsman 570 Trail. The first thing we hate,
03:57 this thing has a 2,500-pound winch straight from Polaris, standard on the Trail. That's awesome.
04:02 We've got no problem with that. This rig weighs less than 1,000 pounds, so that's plenty of winch
04:06 for this machine. What we don't like is it comes with a steel line. Steel line's been standard in
04:11 the industry forever, but now that we have synth line, these things suck. I prefer a synthetic line.
04:17 It doesn't have any memory. It floats. When it breaks, it's not that big a deal. It's just a
04:22 more useful tool to have on the machine. I want them to get rid of this steel line. I want to see
04:26 a synth line up here. The second thing we hate, this tiny inch and a quarter hitch. Look, this
04:31 rig can tow 1,400 pounds. Just go ahead and throw a two-inch receiver on here so you're not messing
04:36 around with a bunch of different hitch sizes for moving yard trailers around and that sort of
04:40 thing. We do love that there are provisions for safety chains. That's always nice to see. There
04:44 are some side-by-sides that don't even do that, but go ahead. Give us a bigger hitch. Make this
04:48 thing the workhorse it is. All right, now it's time for me to get a little bougie on you. The
04:52 third thing I hate about this rig, no cup holder. Come on, man. If I'm riding down the hill to get
04:56 the mail in the morning, I want a place to stick my coffee. I want a place to throw a water bottle
05:00 without having to open up the front hatch. That's a bummer. Just give me a little cup holder,
05:04 place to go. If my lawnmower has a cup holder, this rig should have one.
05:08 The fourth thing that we hate about the Polaris Sportsman 570 is minimal storage. All right,
05:13 I'm going to show you everything we got. That's it. Two little cubbies here. It is sealed,
05:18 which is nice. It's going to keep the majority of the dust and water out of this thing,
05:21 but that's not a lot of room. Yeah, you've got a pretty spacious rack front and rear,
05:26 but all of that's going to require a dry bag, all the rest of that. I just need a place to
05:30 shove things like a big water bottle, my keys, stuff like that that's easily accessible. I don't
05:35 want to have to get up, undo two latches each time to get in here. That should be pretty easy
05:39 to solve, right? Either a single-handed latch so that it's easy to open this thing without having
05:43 to take your hands off both bars, undo these latches, or a lockable cubby that's water and
05:48 dust tight. Either one of those things would be excellent. All right, time for the fifth thing
05:53 that we hate about the Polaris Sportsman 570, and this is a little nitpicky, but we've seen
05:57 some competitors do it better. Down here, you've got these plastic foot pegs. These are pretty
06:02 much industry standard, but we're starting to see some competitors do it a little different,
06:06 where you actually have bolt-in metal teeth here so that when these wear down, you can replace
06:12 them. Look, these things have plenty of grip. We've been ripping around all day with no problem,
06:15 but I can see where in a couple years, those teeth wear down, you got your feet scooting back and
06:20 forth. That's not ideal. All right, so who is the Sportsman 570 for? Look, this is a perfect machine
06:27 for getting some basic work done around the farm. It's also perfect for having a good time. Look,
06:32 this thing is a blast out on the trails. It's easy to get airborne. It's super compliant. It's fun to
06:38 slide around. It feels really neutral, really planted. So if you're looking for a do-it-all
06:43 machine, this is it. You need to do some hunting. You need to do some farm work. You need to play
06:48 around with your buddies, the 570s, where it's at. It's got plenty of power. It's got great range.
06:53 It's got a lot of capability right out of the box, and it won't break the bank. Other use cases,
06:58 look, you got a job site with a bunch of people who are new to ATVs. This thing's not going to
07:02 spook anybody. It's a kitten. It's super easy to control. I would put literally anybody on this
07:06 machine as their first time on an ATV and not worry about it. It's just a really approachable
07:12 machine, and that is awesome. If you like what you saw here, be sure to check us out at utvdriver.com.
07:18 We're going to have a full review on this machine soon, along with all sorts of news, reviews,
