Bosh offers a range of services to rough sleepers and the vulnerably house
Both from their outreach services around bristol to their homeless hub HQ that provides a variety of specialist programmes including drop in partner agency support. One thing that is essential to the future of the charity is its volunteers. Miss Bristol Great Britain’s Imogen Chapman has supported the charity for a number of her years and has used the platform she has gained through pageants to help those in need in the city.

00:00 The cost of living crisis had a huge impact on day to day life and we're finding more
00:05 and more people losing their homes because they cannot afford to pay their rent.
00:11 I am here outside of Bristol Outreach Service for the Homeless as they open for a normal
00:17 day operating not only as a central base for survival on the streets but as a transition
00:22 off of them too.
00:24 Let's find out more from Bosch's CIO Julie Dempster about the impact the charity makes
00:29 on the city of Bristol.
00:31 Bosch is Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless so this is a homeless hub where people
00:38 can come for support, advocacy, food, computer use, mobile phone charging and access to other
00:48 services.
00:50 Bosch offers a range of services to rough sleepers and the vulnerably housed both from
00:55 their outreach services around Bristol to their homeless hub HQ that provides a variety
01:01 of specialist programmes including drop in partner agency support.
01:06 Let's find out more about why the charity's work is so important.
01:11 We have 26 volunteers, we are a small independent charity.
01:17 We could not function without our volunteers and they have a range of abilities, they're
01:22 from a range of backgrounds.
01:25 We have volunteers with lived experience which I believe are crucial but we also have volunteers
01:32 from professional backgrounds which again give such an important mix to the team.
01:42 One thing that is essential to the future of the charity is its volunteers.
01:47 Miss Bristol Great Britain's Imogen Chapman has supported the charity for a number of
01:52 her years and has used the platform she has gained through pageants to help those in need
01:58 in the city.
01:59 I am a volunteer, I have a very close relationship with Bosch.
02:04 I have worked full time with the charity as well as volunteered alongside of my day job.
02:11 I've done it now since I was 16.
02:15 I met Julie at another charity, another homeless charity that we worked for and then when she
02:20 founded Bosch I immediately started helping her with that so I've been here for a long
02:25 time.
02:26 The two go hand in hand.
02:27 When I first got into pageants I was maybe 15, 16 years old and a lot of people would
02:33 talk to me about a platform.
02:35 What's your platform?
02:37 What do you want to promote?
02:38 And obviously at that age I didn't really have a clue but I always knew that something
02:42 that really interested me was the homeless issue within Bristol.
02:48 According to the government website, as of March this year just under 38,000 households
02:54 were threatened with homelessness.
02:56 Only time will tell how the work of charities such as Bristol Outreach Service for the Homeless
03:01 are impacted over the winter months.
