00:00 Meanwhile, the House of Representatives removed the confidential funds of five agencies in the 2024 national budget.

00:07 The amount included is the P650 million from the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education.

00:15 The Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Foreign Affairs also lost their confidential funds.

00:24 A total of P1.2 billion was released as confidential funds and most of it was transferred to agencies related to national security.

00:34 The other confidential funds were realigned to other projects.

00:38 For example, the P150 million confidential funds of the DepEd were allocated for government assistance to students and teachers in private education.

00:49 The committee said that the budget was amended to better address the situation in the West Philippine Sea.
