Prince William has shared how he maintains his mental health while hosting a forum for young people to mark World Mental Health Day.

The royal said humour and "having a laugh" were important to him, as well as putting down screens to spend time with friends and family. Report by Alibhaiz. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/itn and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itn

00:03 Welcome.
00:03 He's well behind me.
00:05 I'm just trying to sneak in.
00:07 [LAUGHTER]
00:08 Welcome to our session.
00:09 [SIDE CONVERSATION]
00:13 [INAUDIBLE]
00:31 [SIDE CONVERSATION]
00:35 William and I continue to be inspired to see young people
00:47 like you all here today leading this charge,
00:51 being particularly brave and having some of those
00:53 conversations yourselves.
00:56 As a generation, you value and talk
00:58 more about your mental health than any before you,
01:01 something we truly admire and applaud.
01:05 It is important, however, to remind ourselves
01:07 of the big picture as we meet here today.
01:11 What are we trying to improve by focusing
01:13 our efforts on mental health?
01:15 We feel that we've made some progress in that we're all
01:19 in this room talking about mental health,
01:21 and we're chipping away at that stigma.
01:23 But there's a lot more to do.
01:24 And I think concrete action and some sort of tangibility
01:28 to come forwards is the idea of where we'd
01:32 like to see this space go next.
01:33 For me, taking your--
01:36 I think just general maintenance,
01:38 so general mental well-being every day,
01:40 things like walking fresh air, getting away from screens
01:43 is a big deal, having a laugh.
01:46 Humor for me is a big deal.
01:47 I love to laugh.
01:49 And you've got to look at the lighter things in life
01:51 sometimes to feel good.
01:54 Time with my friends, time with my family, things like that
01:57 really mattered to me.
