00:00 Our school, the parliamentary elections, have been organized for many, many years.

00:12 Our school is a centre for education in the city.

00:16 And the education centre always comes back to us with the project of organizing such elections.

00:22 It's a project that young people vote for.

00:26 I think it's worth doing something like this, because it's a great lesson in democracy for young people.

00:34 Some of them will be voting for the first time, they will know what it's like to vote.

00:41 And we talk about it in the elections, because it's a subject of knowledge for the society.

00:47 It's educational, civic work.

00:50 It's important to teach young people about democracy.

00:54 Our school has been working with the Foundation of the Civic Education Centre for many years.

00:58 Today, our school's parliamentary elections are being organized as part of the "Young People Vote" project.

01:05 The aim of this project is to increase the participation of young people in public life,

01:12 and to encourage them to take part in the elections.

01:16 And above all, to shape the key competition in the area of civic responsibility,

01:23 which is about full participation in public life.

01:27 Our project, the parliamentary school elections, is not an election campaign.

01:34 The aim is to show political neutrality

01:39 and to show how the elections can be held,

01:44 so that young people can see how the whole process of elections is going on.

01:53 As young people, we had the opportunity to participate in the elections as adults.

01:57 We voted for the elected committees, or we determined our own views.
