00:00 Do you want to hear the big one?
00:01 Like the big, like, fisherman's about to kill you scream?
00:03 Like that kind of thing?
00:04 Yes, I would love to hear it.
00:05 This thing is about to go, like, right about there.
00:08 - Okay. - Okay, ready?
00:09 Okay.
00:10 [screaming]
00:11 [crashing]
00:14 Screaming is not something that can be taught.
00:19 It's kind of like, what makes people scream special
00:22 is that they come from whatever place they want them to come from.
00:24 And mine just happens to come from, you know,
00:26 the bottom of my toes and rolls all the way up
00:28 and stops somewhere and gathers energy in the bottom of my gut
00:32 and keeps going.
00:33 [screaming]
00:34 [glass shattering]
00:35 [screaming]
00:36 Oh, my God!
00:38 I have different levels of screaming,
00:40 and it all depends on what's happening to me at that point.
00:42 But everybody's scream is supposed to be different.
00:44 Nobody's supposed to have the same sort of thing.
00:46 [screaming]
00:47 [screaming]
00:48 [glass shattering]
00:49 I lost my voice, like, four times during the movie.
00:51 I actually had to loop in later, because for a week's time,
00:53 I lost my voice.
00:54 I couldn't speak, I couldn't work, I couldn't do anything.
00:56 I just had to do the scenes where I was running without any lines,
00:58 because I literally couldn't talk.
01:01 I lose my voice quite a bit.
01:02 We're all gonna die!
01:03 He's gonna kill us one by one!
01:06 I came in in the scripts laying in my bed,
01:09 and I was like, "Oh, it's a sequel.
01:10 Great.
01:11 I can't wait to read it."
01:12 So I crawled in bed with, like, my little book light,
01:13 and I laid in bed, and all the lights were off,
01:15 and I shut the door, and I was reading it.
01:16 Twenty pages into it, I reached over, and I flicked on the light.
01:19 And forty pages into it, I opened the door,
01:21 and by the time I was done, I went in with my teddy bear,
01:24 and I was like, "Mommy, can I sleep in bed with you?"
01:27 And she's like, "What are you talking about?"
01:29 And I was like, "I just read the movie, and it's really scary."
01:30 I'm not gonna die on this island!
01:31 Do you hear me?
01:32 If you want me back, come and get me!
01:33 I'm right here!
01:34 But my grave stays empty!
01:42 Some of the filming, I'm really scared,
01:43 because things catch you off guard, and, you know,
01:46 it's just a little too real, and I'm scared.
01:47 The other times, I would just sort of make myself
01:49 kind of hyperventilate, like, at the very beginning stages
01:52 of hyperventilation, and I would sort of, like,
01:54 breathe really, really fast, and jump up and down,
01:55 and run around the room.
01:56 I actually look very, very silly.
01:58 But it kind of jolted my system, and kind of made me sort of, like,
02:02 nervous and on edge, and then I would just act from there.
02:05 But I do want to show you that this is the way it's professionally held
02:07 by the hook man himself.
02:09 Not like this.
02:10 Not like this.
02:11 Like this.
02:12 In between those fingers, like that.
02:14 Oh, that looks like I'm giving you the bird!
02:15 I'm terribly sorry!
02:16 I've spent so many nights thinking how you can be wrong. I've been strong, and I learned how to get along, but now you're back.
02:26 It wasn't necessarily because I wanted to sing, or, you know, prove that I was a singer,
02:30 or that I was still singing at this point, or anything.
02:33 It was mostly just because for Julie, it was such a great moment to play as my character,
02:37 because I know everything that she's been through, as everybody does, and it's so nice
02:40 for 20 seconds just to see her have a moment of just real happiness and real fun, and because
02:45 after that it's over.
02:46 There is no more fun or happiness after that moment.
02:49 [Screaming]
02:54 Oh God!
02:55 [Screaming]
02:58 Jamie Lee Curtis is a huge, huge role model of mine, and if I have a mentor besides my mom, it's her.
03:04 I think she's one of the most amazing women on the planet, and the only best word that
03:08 I can think of to describe her is goddess.
03:10 She really is, and she lives up to that every single day.
03:13 And the only thing she ever told me is, she's like, "Live it up, have so much fun," because
03:17 I don't do the horror movies because I'm expecting to win an Academy Award by any means.
03:20 I do them because they're fun.
03:21 I mean, it's just, it's really freeing and great to just go run around and get beat up
03:25 and scream and just have a good time.
03:27 If anyone asks, let's not tell them it rained the whole time, okay?
03:34 It'll be our little secret.
03:36 It is a good back scratcher.
