The growing market for weight-loss drugs, predicted to be worth $100 billion within a decade, has led to high demand for the fill-finish process. Contract manufacturers seek to increase their sterile fill-finish capacity to meet the growing demand for obesity treatments. Several companies, including Catalent and Thermo Fisher, are expanding their pre-filled syringe capacity. However, shortages of drugs, are expected to continue into next year.
