00:09 And get this, it was 13 years before NASA started accepting female astronauts into their

00:16 But Barbie is still making waves in the world of space exploration.
00:20 In some experiments, scientists actually used these dolls to figure out how to get rid of
00:24 pesky moon dust from spacesuits.
00:27 They dressed up Barbie in a fancy spacesuit and covered her in volcanic ash while blasting
00:32 her with liquid nitrogen.
00:34 This technique turned out to be way more effective than any other cleaning methods they tried
00:38 before.
