00:02 Hey, it's People in 10.
00:05 Starting with the split that has us shook.
00:08 We've already been saying
00:09 that this is the year of the breakup
00:11 and the latest victims, Jodi Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson.
00:14 Okay, so surface level, heartbroken.
00:17 We won't get to see these two
00:18 walk the red carpet ever again,
00:20 but they were always talking about how in love they were
00:23 and how lucky they were to find each other
00:25 and how they kept choosing each other every day.
00:27 Plus their three-year-old,
00:29 who we just learned from court documents
00:30 is named Juno Rose Diana.
00:33 Now I know Jodi's over here playing it cool,
00:35 posting about horses, but y'all, I am still in denial.
00:38 I need time to process all of this.
00:41 In case you're living under a rock,
00:43 Taylor Swift was at it again on Sunday,
00:45 hitting up the Chief Jets game.
00:47 She cheered on her man, enjoyed a little beverage,
00:49 and basically launched another thousand memes
00:52 with all the replies to this question.
00:54 Now in this one,
00:55 Tay-Tay's still getting to know how the game works.
00:57 And this one, straight to the point, moving on.
01:01 Now I love this one.
01:02 It was poking fun of Britney's hubby, Patrick,
01:04 throwing multiple interceptions to the Jets.
01:07 Ouch.
01:08 Now some people are getting a little tired
01:10 of this Travis Taylor stuff, and I get it,
01:12 but we say those memes are funny, keep them coming.
01:15 And our selfie of the week comes from Miss Taylor's entourage.
01:20 Our girl rolled deep, what can we say?
01:22 So Hugh Jackman posted this after the game,
01:24 and yeah, it's a little blurry,
01:26 but imagine your selfies having this much star power.
01:29 Ooh wee.
01:30 Now Taylor and Travis, we've heard,
01:31 are just having fun right now.
01:33 But honestly, the fun that she's having with her besties,
01:35 that my friends, is priceless.
01:38 Now onto the burning question,
01:40 and we gotta set this one up.
01:41 So Arnold Schwarzenegger told a story this week
01:43 from when his kids were younger.
01:45 - I grabbed the mattress, I opened up the doors,
01:47 grabbed the mattress and threw it out the balcony,
01:50 down into the swimming pool.
01:51 - What?
01:53 I gotta talk this one through, and I know who to call.
01:56 (phone ringing)
01:58 - Hey Mako, how's it going?
02:00 - Nigel, we've learned so much
02:02 about Arnold Schwarzenegger's parenting style recently.
02:05 What provoked all of this, my friend?
02:07 - Well, Arnold was on Jimmy Kimmel.
02:09 He shared a pretty, pretty revealing story
02:11 about when Patrick was just nine years old,
02:14 and Patrick didn't really like to make his bed.
02:16 So one day, Patrick actually relied on his nanny
02:20 to make the bed for him,
02:21 and Arnold wasn't so happy about it.
02:23 So he took his mattress, and you know,
02:26 Arnold is quite strong, and threw it into their pool.
02:30 - Oh my goodness.
02:31 Was he a little softer?
02:33 'Cause that sounds extreme.
02:34 Was he a little softer on Catherine?
02:36 - She liked to have her shoes around and not put them away.
02:39 So he got so fed up with that, that they had a fireplace,
02:42 and he actually burned her shoes.
02:44 - And you can't even think about talking back
02:45 to the Terminator, so they just had to take that out.
02:48 Does he look back on it now with regret?
02:50 - He does say that, you know, he grew up in Austria,
02:53 and he had it even stricter, but looking back,
02:56 he does wish he was a little more lenient.
02:58 - Well, Nigel, thank you for breaking this down for us.
03:01 - Well, yeah, and as the Terminator himself says,
03:04 "I'll be back."
03:05 - And we'll see you soon.
03:06 Bye. - Okay, bye.
03:09 - For our sister style of the week,
03:10 we're off to the City of Light.
03:12 Now, Paris Hilton might be a little bit older than Nicki,
03:15 but these two were twinning for Paris Fashion Week.
03:18 From Valentino Barbies to Balenciaga babes,
03:21 I'm obsessed with these polka dots at Zimmerman,
03:24 and I can't get enough of the silk at Stella McCartney.
03:27 Say it with me, people, that's hot.
03:30 Amid all that glam, Paris Fashion Week also brought us
03:33 our fresh face of the week.
03:35 It's Pamela Anderson, who went au naturel to multiple shows.
03:39 Can you believe that she turned 56 this summer?
03:42 She is goals, and Jamie Lee Curtis agrees.
03:44 She loved on Pam for her courage to go makeup-free.
03:48 Just beautiful, inside and out.
03:50 Valerie Bertinelli is also in her self-love era.
03:55 So get this, Valerie was digging around in her closet, right?
03:58 And she found some old clothes that she actually wore
04:00 in her first before photo as a Jenny Craig spokesperson.
04:04 She's been super open about her journey with weight
04:06 and self-acceptance over the years.
04:08 And our quote of the week is what she said
04:10 about the discovery.
04:11 - Your worth as a human being isn't dictated by your body.
04:16 I've never felt more beautiful, more at peace,
04:21 more mentally and emotionally stable than I do today.
04:26 And I'm wearing my fat clothes.
04:33 - If you didn't get a chance to see Beyonce
04:36 on her worldwide sold out tour,
04:39 mark your calendars for December 1st.
04:41 - When I am performing, I am nothing but free.
04:46 - Y'all, she's bringing her Renaissance tour to theaters.
04:50 And it's our sneak peek of the week.
04:52 - The goal for this tour was to create a place
04:55 where everyone is free.
04:58 - Oh, we had a good time.
04:59 I know I let loose.
05:00 Girl, same.
05:03 Thinking about it still gives me goosebumps.
05:06 - And finally, our rescue of the week is a happy ending
05:10 to a really scary story.
05:12 So a nine-year-old in New York went missing
05:14 while camping with her family.
05:15 This got a lot of coverage in the area
05:17 and even around the country.
05:18 The governor of New York got involved
05:20 and she says she promised Charlotte's family
05:22 they'd find her, which is kind of risky to say
05:25 'cause unfortunately, as we know,
05:26 a lot of these stories do not end up so well.
05:29 But they use cell phone pings and fingerprints
05:31 from a ransom note to locate Charlotte
05:33 in the suspect's camper.
05:34 He was arrested and thankfully,
05:36 Charlotte is back safe with her family.
05:38 Next is "The Sit Down" with Geri Halliwell Horner.
05:42 Hi, Geri.
05:43 I'm so excited to chat with you today.
05:45 There's so much to cover,
05:46 so let's start with your new fantasy novel,
05:48 "Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen."
05:51 I actually heard it took you seven years to write this.
05:53 Now, this isn't your first book.
05:55 So walk me through this process.
05:56 How did you finally land here?
05:58 - I studied English literature before I was in the band.
06:01 ♪ So tell me what you want ♪
06:02 ♪ What you really, really want ♪
06:04 And I always liked the power of word.
06:07 I always felt confident in that bit.
06:08 Like I'm no Mariah Carey.
06:10 (laughing)
06:11 - Oh, stop.
06:12 - But I like the songwriting bit.
06:13 - Yeah.
06:14 - Quite got the range.
06:15 (upbeat music)
06:16 Anyway, I always liked writing stories in that side of it.
06:21 And I'd written a children's book before for much younger.
06:24 And then I went to this agent and I said,
06:26 "Oh, should I just age her up and make a big story?"
06:28 And he went, and it was Harry Potter's agent.
06:31 His name was Christopher Little.
06:33 And he said to me, "No, start again."
06:35 - Did you draw from any real life inspiration
06:37 while writing the book?
06:39 - As a young person, I lost my dad when I was quite young.
06:42 And I felt embarrassed of my sadness and grief.
06:46 So I sort of put that in there a little bit.
06:50 It's there if you want it.
06:51 I mean, it's fast paced.
06:52 It's adventure.
06:54 It's a little bit vicious at times.
06:56 But underneath it, you're sort of processing
07:00 real emotions.
07:01 - Girl power is an important theme.
07:03 And I know it's an important theme in the book as well.
07:05 How has your idea of what girl power means
07:08 evolved over the years?
07:10 - Girl power to me actually means equality for everyone.
07:13 It's not just about your, you know, for women.
07:15 It's for everyone, whatever gender you are,
07:19 whether a cult you are.
07:21 We all want to, I think real love is just equal
07:25 and it's abundant.
07:26 - You're a mom and step-mom to three kids.
07:29 Do your kids get excited when you drop a new project?
07:31 And also, do they understand what a big deal you are?
07:34 - Someone said to me that this other little girl
07:37 went up to Monty, who's six, and she went,
07:39 "Your mommy's a Spice Girl."
07:41 As if to say, you know, that's cool.
07:43 And he's like, yeah, whatever.
07:44 He just wants to, you know, he's interested in his Lego.
07:47 Blue Boy, I think because the 90s, you know,
07:49 had that resurgence of coolness.
07:52 So I think she likes it, but you know what?
07:55 I think any parent can understand that they, you know,
07:58 they're in their own world.
08:00 - What did your husband, Christian, think about your book?
08:02 - I think your family or your partner
08:05 can be your best and worst critic, right?
08:07 They're like, and you know, you want their approval.
08:11 And I was always sort of going off into the,
08:14 I've got this little writing shed to write.
08:15 And then I said, "Oh, are you going to read it?"
08:17 And he said, "I'll wait.
08:18 "I'll wait until it's published," right?
08:21 And so finally it's published.
08:23 I said, okay, and he's going off on his travels.
08:25 And I say, "Here's the book," right?
08:26 I ring him and I thought, he goes, "Oh, I'm reading it."
08:28 He's reading it on the plane.
08:29 He says, "Oh, it's much better
08:31 "than I thought it was going to be," right?
08:35 Then he said to me, "Do you know what?
08:38 "I can't put it down
08:40 "because I just want to find out what happens next."
08:42 - If each of your kids had a Spice Girl name,
08:45 what would it be?
08:46 - Okay, so Monty, he does love Lego
08:49 and he built the Titanic, right?
08:54 Lego, which is for an 18 year old.
08:56 And he is absolutely obsessed with Celine Dion's

09:03 But he's really quite precise and dedicated.
09:09 So I'd call him Precise Spice.
09:11 My stepdaughter, she's adorable
09:13 and she loves animals, so I'd say she's Caring Spice.
09:17 And then Bluebell, she's very dedicated and hardworking.

09:27 - Hmm, what about Boss Spice?
09:30 - Yeah, she'd love that, perfect, Boss Spice, totally.
09:33 There you go, I'll take that one.
