00:00 Hi, I'm Chris Kloss with Motor Trend, and we're here at the 2014 LA Auto Show to take
00:15 a look at the 2016 Honda HR-V.
00:18 The HR-V is entering what's going to be a really competitive but very hot market for
00:23 subcompact crossovers.
00:25 Mazda is entering it with their CX-3, and there's already the Nissan Juke, which is
00:30 a lot smaller.
00:31 The HR-V is powered by an inline-four that comes from the Honda Civic.
00:35 In this application, it's going to produce 138 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque.
00:41 It'll be mated to a CVT, but a manual transmission will be available in front-wheel drive only.
00:48 All-wheel drive is available on this vehicle with the CVT, so that'll be really popular
00:52 in northern states.
00:54 Inside, it's actually really, really nice.
00:57 The doors are padded.
00:59 Even the rear doors are padded.
01:01 There's really great placement of the auxiliary ports in there that we'll take a look at.
01:08 And it also has available Honda's new seven-inch touchscreen that is going to have not only
01:14 Android app availability, but you can touch and swipe just like you do with your tablet.
01:20 Everything about this car is made to be easy to use.
01:23 It has Honda's magic seats that have their three famous positions, the utility position
01:28 with both back seats down, the long position with the front seat back so that you can put
01:33 something really long on one side of the vehicle, and then the tall position with both seats,
01:39 both back seats with the bottoms up.
01:41 Everything about this car, it's the space available inside, which is going to be class-leading,
01:47 the interior amenities, the quality of the interior.
01:50 It's going to be a surprise for people when they go and shop for their subcompact crossover
01:54 that's going to cost just more than $20,000 probably.
01:58 Tell us what you think about it in the comments.
