00:00 Hey, I'm Ryan Eversley and I'm here with Emily on the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour.
00:07 Next to me is Emily's awesome Pontiac GTO and it's wrapped with Continental tires, Extreme
00:11 Contact, and DWS 060s.
00:14 Tell me about this awesome car.
00:15 What do you got under the hood?
00:16 Oh, thank you.
00:17 All right, well I just built a 408 stroker for Roxy and I did a YouTube channel on the
00:21 build.
00:22 You can find it at our in-the-shop with Emily.
00:24 And I brought it on a power tour less than a month after finishing the build.
00:28 So I'm here and I'm having an awesome time and I'm parked over at the Camp Cam's booth
00:32 meeting people, having fun, and loving the event.
00:36 So this thing's got 522 horsepower.
00:37 Yeah, 522 in the back tire.
00:38 Awesome.
00:39 So now we're going to go take a drive and talk a little bit about the car.
00:45 Let's go.
00:46 Awesome.
00:47 Come along with us.
00:48 So when you're not building engines, you're a model.
00:57 Yeah.
00:58 And so your quote that you were just telling me you like to use is model mechanic because
01:02 it's kind of a unique thing.
01:03 Yeah.
01:04 That's very cool.
01:05 How did you get into cars originally?
01:06 So my husband and I got together when I was 14.
01:07 Okay.
01:08 And so we grew up together essentially and I started modeling around the same time so
01:09 I would kind of had a lot of contrast growing up as far as hair and makeup and pretty pictures
01:10 versus being home in a small town out in the shop with Aaron.
01:11 And we would always have projects working on stuff and everything from we had a little
01:12 bit of a stuffy car and we would have a lot of projects working on stuff and everything
01:13 from we had a lot of projects working on stuff and everything from we had a lot of projects
01:14 working on stuff and everything from we had a lot of projects working on stuff and everything
01:15 from we had a '69 Camaro to a CJ Jeep that we had 13 inches of lift on so we always had
01:33 projects going on and it was just so fun and I fell in love with it all.
01:39 Excellent.
01:40 And here we are.
01:41 So you guys did the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2007.
01:42 Yes.
01:43 What was your first experience with the Hot Rod Power Tour?
01:44 What was the reason you guys took that trip?
01:45 We did it for our honeymoon.
01:46 We got married the day before and headed out for the power tour.
01:47 That's excellent.
01:48 It started to cleave on that year and we just hit the road.
01:49 Roxy was stock as ever and it was an awesome trip so it's a very special event for us.
02:04 I've noticed the whole industry because I come from a sports car racing background and
02:08 so I've grown up around cars, American, foreign, all sorts of different stuff.
02:14 Last year was my first time on the Hot Rod Power Tour with the Continental Tire Group
02:18 and I was blown away by how friendly the entire environment is.
02:23 There's no such thing as a dumb question.
02:25 People are willing to talk to you about anything.
02:27 If somebody breaks down, like Simon who's in our group, he said he had a little issue
02:31 yesterday with his Chevelle and he said within minutes somebody pulled over and said, "Hey,
02:37 let me help you with that."
02:38 Ten minutes later they had the thing running and it was good to go.
02:40 So that kind of bond, that car environment, especially in the tuner and Hot Rod world,
02:49 it's awesome.
02:50 You will go sideways really fast.
