00:05 He's probably the only man in history who's become very wealthy by trying to kill himself.

00:10 It's true, he is somewhat of a legend.
00:13 He does incredible stunts with motorcycles.
00:16 And he has broken, I guess, more bones than anybody in history.
00:21 And yet he keeps at this.
00:22 So let us meet the gentleman.

00:30 I grew up in the 70s.
00:32 And Evel Knievel was the 70s.
00:36 He captured my imagination like no one else.
00:40 Some of you may have seen this film before.
00:42 This is a jump that you made at Caesar's Palace.
00:44 What happened?
00:45 The motorcycle landed short,
00:48 ripped the handlebars out of my hands,
00:50 and I bounced for 60 yards into the dunes parking lot.

00:58 God, you're an incredible man.
01:03 I didn't think of him as a daredevil.
01:05 I thought of him as a superhero.
01:08 No one ever went for it like that before.
01:11 He invented that.
01:14 Since then it has taken off in a major way.
