00:13 Number 10. A migraine leads to slurring
00:16 Over a decade ago, reporter Serene Branson was reporting live outside the 2011 Grammy
00:20 Awards show for CBS2. As she began speaking, it was clear something was amiss as she began
00:25 to slur her words.
00:26 "Well, a very, very heavy, uh, heavy do it, burtation tonight."
00:30 The incident went viral, with many wondering what precisely was happening with Branson
00:34 and why she exhibited such behavior.
00:35 "We had a very deris- derison, by, let's go to terror- terrorism."
00:40 It turns out that she was suffering from a migraine, which resulted in her speech impairment.
00:44 Branson wound up making a full recovery and has since been more mindful of her health.
00:47 Branson says she's feeling better and wants to raise awareness.
00:50 "If I can at least let people know that I'm okay and talk about the issue and let people
00:55 know that it is something serious, that it is a medical condition, then that's what I'd
01:02 like to do."
01:03 Number 9. Grape Lady
01:05 You might have seen this one before. During a report for Fox 5 at a local winery, Melissa
01:09 Sander can be seen alongside another person discussing a grape stomping competition. In
01:13 the spirit of the discussion, both women are seen stomping grapes. Unfortunately, Sander
01:17 loses her balance and falls off the platform face-first into the ground.
01:20 "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, I can't."
01:26 The subsequent moaning noises further demonstrate the pain she's experiencing. As with our last
01:30 entry, the clip went viral and Sander has since been coined the nickname "The Grape
01:33 Lady."
01:34 Number 8. Witnessing a Bank Robber Escape
01:37 When reporting on a bank robbery in the state of Texas, KXAN-TV reporter Adam Salet was
01:42 just outside the scene of the crime. While providing details on what transpired to his
01:46 anchor and colleague, an employee working at the bank exited the building to let Salet
01:49 know that the culprit was right before him. He pointed him out to Salet and following
01:57 the announcement, the latter let his colleague know that he'd be fulfilling his civic duty.
02:04 Salet's reaction really says it all and basically says what everyone watching was thinking.
02:08 The fleeing suspect was later apprehended.
02:10 For Adam, he says he's just happy to help.
02:24 Number 7. Forest Fires Erupting
02:26 Back in May of 2016, Fort McMurray, Alberta was hit with a wildfire of epic proportions.
02:32 Reporting on it all as it happened, Global National's Reid Feist was on camera when the
02:36 flames of the wildfire burning behind him grew in significant size and stature. One
02:40 can easily sense Feist's shock with what is taking place right before his very eyes.
02:51 He even begins to question his own safety. Nonetheless, he keeps his composure and continues
03:00 his report on the matter at hand. The clip became so popular it wound up being featured
03:04 on YouTube Canada's list for most trending videos in 2016.
03:08 Number 6. An Unintentional Shank
03:22 Reporting for Israel's Channel One, Itam Lockover visited a facility that fabricates
03:26 safety vests. One of the facility's employees asked Lockover to test out a knife-proof vest.
03:30 He complied.
03:38 It would seem that based on the footage and the fact that Lockover claims he did not feel
03:41 any pain during the demonstration, the test proved successful. Only, it didn't. Lockover
03:45 would later discover that he sustained a superficial wound as a result. He later visited the hospital
03:50 to receive stitches. A vice president from the company would later explain that the area
03:54 where Lockover was stabbed did not contain the proper protective material, which would
03:58 have shielded him from the knife's impact during the test.
04:00 Number 5. Slap from Behind
04:03 Alex Bozargian, a young reporter in Savannah, Georgia, was covering a race. The 23-year-old
04:08 was giving her report in front of the camera when suddenly a participant competing in the
04:11 race smacked her backside. Naturally, she was startled, but she remained calm and continued
04:15 on with her report of the event. She would later take to social media to call out the
04:18 man and emphasize the importance of women's rights. The culprit was later apprehended
04:22 and pleaded guilty for his behavior. He was also fined, sentenced to a year of probation,
04:26 and required to complete 200 hours of community service.
04:35 Number 4. The Worst Kind of Interruption
04:37 In the streets of Madrid, Cuatro Television's Isa Bilado is conducting a report on a store
04:42 robbery. Moments into the broadcast, a man can be seen walking behind Bilado. He greets
04:46 her by touching her buttocks. After politely brushing him off, the on-air anchor asks what
04:51 happened and requests that they show the man. She confronts him and he assures her that
04:54 he has done no wrongdoing. As he walks away, he proceeds to mockingly touch her head. He
04:58 was soon after arrested for his actions. Similar incidents in the past have shown that many
05:02 female reporters have frequently had the misfortune to deal with this grotesque behavior.
05:07 Number 3. Getting Hit by Car
05:09 Tori Yorkey was reporting live on air for NBC affiliate WSAZ in West Virginia when she
05:14 was suddenly hit by a car. The anchor's face as he witnesses it all unfold is essentially
05:26 everyone's reaction. She tumbles, of course, but much to everyone's surprise, she's
05:30 quick to get up and reassure everyone that she's alright.
05:38 Not only that, but she continues on with her report, albeit having a brief discussion with
05:42 the anchor on what just transpired. Coincidentally, at the time of the incident, it was her last
05:48 week working at the news station. What a way to make an exit.
05:51 "Hopefully people don't look at me and say, 'Oh, that's the reporter that got hit by the
05:54 car.' I hope they look at me and, you know, are like, 'Oh, okay, she's Tori. She's gonna
05:59 go out and tell us impacting stories.'"
06:01 Number 2. Reuniting After School Attack
06:04 On March 22, 2023, a student attending East High School arrived on the school's premises
06:09 and shot two teachers. Fox News correspondent Alicia Acuna was just outside the school's
06:14 building while the events transpired. She was soon interrupted by someone in the middle
06:17 of her report. This person turned out to be her son, who attends the high school. They
06:25 share a quick embrace before she continues on with her report. While keeping her composure,
06:28 Acuna's relief is evident, and she was getting understandably emotional.
06:31 "He's the one who was telling me what was happening."
06:33 Knowing now that her son was at the very school where the incident was taking place, we're
06:37 just surprised she could even go through with the report in the first place.
06:40 "I'm so sorry. I just... There's no way you would have let your kid walk by."

07:56 In Turkey, journalist Yüksel Ekalan was giving a live report on camera concerning an earthquake
08:01 when a second one occurred soon afterwards. As a result, a building close by began to
08:05 collapse. Alongside his cameraman and several pedestrians, Ekalan ran for his life to safety
08:09 all while still being live on the air. He later spots a young girl with her mother across
08:13 the road. He abandoned the live broadcast to approach her. He proceeds to help evacuate
08:17 her to safety and also takes the time to comfort and calm her down.
