00:00 A police officer was arrested after he shot a man in a bar in Quezon City.

00:06 James Agustin has the first news.

00:09 This commotion was caused by several men who were caught yesterday at 4.30 in the morning on Quirino Highway in Novaliches, Quezon City.

00:19 A man was driving a jeep but he was pulled down by two other men.

00:24 When he reached the middle of the road, one of the men punched him until he completely collapsed,

00:32 who was recognized as Chris Mel Serioso.

00:35 He was seen in the CCTV footage when he was driving in a police car around 5.24am or after almost an hour.

00:42 Serioso was rushed to the hospital but the rival was declared dead after he was shot in the body.

00:49 The CCTV footage also showed the pose of one of the men who was with the commotion.

00:54 He was recognized as Patrolman Edwin Simbiling who was the one who shot Serioso.

00:59 Simbiling was in the Regional Mobile Force Battalion of the NCRPO.

01:04 He was given back the gun he used in the crime.

01:07 Based on the NCRPO's statement, the commotion started in a bar.

01:11 Patrolman Simbiling and three others were drinking when Serioso suddenly approached.

01:17 The two men who were shot outside the bar lost.

01:20 The reason for the loss is not clear yet.

01:23 No statement was given from the Quezon City Police District.

01:27 In a statement of the NCRPO, the chief police brigadier general Jose Melencio Nartates Jr. said

01:34 that they are now conducting an investigation to give justice to the victim.

01:39 The suspect is in the custody of the CIDU of the QCPD in Camp Caringal.

01:44 He is being prepared for a homicide complaint against him.
