Transcript
00:00 My name is Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Borewell and I'm the Senior Investigating Officer in this case.
00:06 Today a 13 year old has admitted causing death by dangerous driving following the death of Marcia Grant in April.
00:14 Since Marcia's death our thoughts have been with her family and friends who have lost a loved one under the most tragic of circumstances.
00:23 They will have to live with the heart breaking consequences of that leaving for the rest of their lives.
00:29 Marcia was killed after she was hit by a car in the Green Hill area of Sheffield on Wednesday 5th April.
00:35 A short time later the boy who was 12 years old at the time was arrested and charged with murder.
00:42 We then put together a comprehensive case file which we presented to the Crown Prosecution Service.
00:48 The Crown Prosecution Service's final decision was to bring a charge of death by dangerous driving against that boy and he has admitted this offence to date.
00:58 We continue to support Marcia's loved ones and they have asked that their privacy is respected.
01:04 We will not be making further comment today.
01:07 Once again our thoughts and condolences remain with them at this incredibly difficult time.
01:12 Thank you.
