00:00 Having one of the best defensive ends to have played in the league mentor you in
00:05 your rookie season is a dream for most. For Will Anderson Jr. it is a reality.
00:09 Coming off of a historic career at Alabama, Will Anderson Jr. had some big
00:14 shoes to fill when drafted by the Houston Texans. Those shoes included
00:19 filling the role of Texans great in JJ Watt. While Watt is no longer playing, he
00:24 has taken on the role of teacher to the new era of great Texans pass rushing.
00:28 Anderson commented, "JJ has been a good mentor for me so far. I'm going to start
00:33 sending him some more clips so I can get some more help." Anderson finished Sunday's
00:38 30-6 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers with two tackles as the Texans held the
00:43 Steelers to 225 yards total offense and only 12 first downs. The third pick in
00:50 the draft spoke more of his mentor saying, "He's been good. Honestly, it's a
00:54 privilege and a blessing to have someone like JJ to communicate with and help out.
00:59 What he has done in the league, what he has done for the Houston Texans is
01:04 unbelievable." While speaking to the Texans before their week four game with
01:09 the Steelers, Anderson said one part of Watt's message really spoke to him.
01:14 Staying humble and being grateful for the opportunity. From Texans Daily, I'm
01:19 Alexandra Cox.
