00:02 - We thought we might see Jameis Winston
00:05 make the start for New Orleans
00:06 with the sprained AC joint of Derek Carr.
00:09 Instead, it was Carr that gutted it out.
00:12 But Dr. Chow, they threw the football a ton,
00:14 23 of 37 for New Orleans yesterday,
00:17 but only for 127 yards,
00:19 an average yardage per attempt of just 3.4,
00:24 numbers I had frankly never seen, Dr. Chow.
00:26 So how did Derek Carr look to you?
00:29 What effect do you think the injury had
00:31 on that New Orleans offense yesterday
00:33 in the loss to Tampa Bay?
00:34 - That's why we said if it's, quote,
00:37 just an AC joint and nothing more,
00:39 you can inject that to return to play.
00:42 Ironically, his former receiver, Devontae Adams,
00:45 had a right AC joint injury in game against the Chargers,
00:50 likely had an injection in return that played pretty well.
00:53 This was Carr's throwing shoulder,
00:55 and I think that's the issue.
00:57 Was he 100% on the shoulder?
00:58 Maybe not, associated swelling.
01:00 Maybe the area wasn't numb,
01:03 and so maybe he had to throw underneath.
01:05 Or was it lack of practice time with a new team
01:09 that sort of changed what he could do
01:12 in terms of the timing?
01:14 The bottom line is that he should be able
01:16 to play through again.
01:17 He may need another injection.
01:19 He should get more practice time this week,
01:21 and he's certainly gonna trend in the right direction.
01:24 And so we missed the Jameis Winston, quote, revenge game.
