00:00 So this year is the ninth year of National Lorry Week and we're outside
00:04 Roadway House here in Thortwood where we're kicking off this year's National
00:08 Lorry Week campaign. It's a month-long campaign that culminates in National
00:12 Lorry Week which is the last week in October and I should be taking this truck
00:17 behind me on a tour of the four nations of the UK and we'll be visiting schools,
00:21 colleges, truck stops, operators, politicians to celebrate and promote the
00:28 UK road transport industry and just how important and how vital it is to the UK
00:33 economy and society as a whole because if it wasn't for these trucks, if it
00:38 wasn't for the guys and girls that drive them, the mechanics that mend
00:43 them, the planners that plan them and route them, we'd all be naked, homeless
00:47 and hungry. It's very important to make sure that the public at large know and
00:54 understand the benefit that they derive from the operation of trucks on a
00:58 day-to-day basis. It's a really vibrant industry, it's a very sophisticated
01:01 industry and the developments, particularly on on-time deliveries, have
01:06 been second to none over the last few years. This is to show our support, to
01:14 raise that awareness, raise that profile and try and make the roads a little bit safer.
