00:45 when all the kids first move out of the house.
00:46 When the last, our youngest daughter left,
00:49 we were like, what are we gonna do with ourselves?
00:51 We were scared the wife was gonna go out of the house.
00:53 And after about six months, we were kinda like,
00:55 you know, we kinda like this.
00:56 You know, crank the music up,
00:58 light the candles, dance, have fun, enjoy ourselves.

01:03 the 27th wedding anniversary too, coming up?
01:05 Yeah, well, I think I got bigger plans for that.

01:08 Tim and Faith first met in 1994
01:10 at a Nashville event for New Country Artists.
01:13 A year after, they each released their debut albums.

01:23 Our first album went wood.
01:24 It started off at the bottom and fell real fast.

01:29 It says it right there in the title, you know,
01:34 take me for who I am, you know, no frills, no lace.
01:38 Basically, what you see is what you get.
01:41 At the time, they were both in other relationships,
01:43 but connected two years later
01:45 when Faith joined Tim on his Spontaneous Combustion Tour.
01:48 When we first got together, my career was going great,
01:53 but I was kind of a loose cannon.
01:54 And who knows where I'd be right now if it wasn't for her.
01:57 If y'all hadn't found each other,
01:58 do you think anything would be any different?
02:00 I'd be dead.
02:01 My life didn't start 'til eight years ago.
02:04 Aw. Yeah.
02:04 Me too.
02:06 Aw, man.
02:08 Tim popped the question that June.
02:11 We were somewhere playing this big outdoor festival,
02:14 and they had these trailer houses set up,
02:16 and I said, "Look, let's get married."
02:19 She goes, "Are you serious?"
02:20 I said, "Well, yeah, I'm serious."
02:22 And then they called me and I had to go to stage.
02:23 I went to stage and did the show,
02:25 and then I came off the stage
02:27 and went back into my dressing room,
02:28 and Faith wasn't there,
02:29 but I looked at the mirror in lipstick and said,
02:32 "Yes, I'm gonna be your wife."
02:35 And we still have that mirror.
02:37 And it was the best day of my life, that's for sure.
02:42 And the couple said, "I do," in October 1996.
02:45 We got married in my aunt's backyard in Rayville, Louisiana.
02:49 She was barefoot and we were under an old locust tree.
02:51 Yeah, it was awesome.
02:53 And one year later, released their very first duet.

03:05 What do you remember about that song?
03:08 Oh, I was so pregnant.

03:22 I mean, yes, wow, it was special.
03:26 What I remember specifically is
03:28 Faith was craving milkshakes
03:30 when we were shooting the video.
03:31 I craved a lot, but the milkshake I needed at that moment.
03:34 She had a milkshake when we were shooting the video,
03:37 and she had, what do you call that,
03:38 that dress, it was silk or something?
03:40 It's silk.
03:41 It was silk, yeah.
03:42 And so if you look really closely in a few shots,
03:45 you'll see a milkshake stain.
03:46 No, they took that out, babe.
03:48 Tim and Faith's eldest daughter, Grace,
03:50 was born a few months later,
03:52 and Maggie came along the year after.
03:54 I love that plunging neckline, it's very dangerous.
03:56 I don't have it very often,
03:58 so we're expecting our second child,
04:00 so if I got it, I'm gonna show it off.
04:01 Gracie, this is Mommy and Daddy,
04:04 and you are our world.
04:05 Happy birthday, honey, we love you.
04:07 And Maggie, Maggie, you should be asleep by now.
04:09 That's right, Maggie.
04:10 We love you, Maggie.
04:11 And Audrey, three years later.

04:20 Audrey has actually got a singer career going herself.
04:22 I know, Gracie's a great singer,
04:25 they're all three can sing.
04:26 I just want them to be happy
04:28 and do what they love, to be honest.
04:30 The country stars embarked
04:31 on their first official tour together in 2000.

04:41 The memories that we have together
04:45 touring the country as a family,
04:47 for any family, those are wonderful memories.
04:50 And in 2012, their Soul to Soul show
04:52 nabbed a Las Vegas residency.

04:58 How do you like performing together?
05:00 First off, she doesn't perform a whole lot anyway,
05:02 and certainly performing together,
05:03 we don't get to do very often.
05:04 So to stand on the side of the stage
05:06 and get to see her sing,
05:07 and anybody that gets to come to the show
05:09 and gets to see her sing, it's a rare treat.
05:11 Aw.
05:12 To get to perform.
05:12 It's incredible to watch,
05:14 and to be able to sit there
05:16 and look goo-goo-eyed at one another.
05:18 Doesn't get old, it's fun for us.
05:20 We don't get to do it that often.
05:21 But throughout their careers,
05:23 family always came first.
05:25 Everybody sees the work part,
05:27 but you know, gosh, 80% of our life
05:29 is home with kids,
05:31 and going to high school football games,
05:33 and parent-teacher meetings,
05:35 and sitting in hookup line,
05:36 and all that kind of stuff.
05:38 That's our real life.
05:39 This is sort of just the part that everybody sees.
05:42 ♪ Even when time takes its toll ♪

05:49 So Mother's Day is tomorrow, Faith.
05:51 Now what do you expect from,
05:52 is it like I'm queen for a day?
05:54 What happens in your family?
05:56 I'm queen every day.

05:59 Girlfriend, it's her world, I'm just living it.

06:04 I can't imagine it being any other way.
